meme: reverse questions

It's Friday, this week is ugh, and I don't want to work. So, meme. Looks like we most recently did this one last December.

Tag in with your characters and then people will comment asking the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR CHARACTERS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this character?", "How do you channel them?", etc).

I'm so glad it's Friday, you guys. So glad.

You've had a few characters return after time away. What brings you back to them?

Who's your easiest character to play these days?

Who's your biggest challenge to play right now and why?

Leto. I think it's because I've played him for so long.

Usually it's a combination of nostalgia and an idea of something that can be done with them, with a healthy dose of enabling on the side. Sometimes it's just a matter of, "Dang, you know what voice I miss poking at?"

But for Reno, Zack, and Nathan, mostly it was that 'enabling' bit. I, uh, still actually need to do something with Reno now that he's back, though.

So, Rey's got new canon coming up soon! On a scale of one to ten, how terrified and/or excited are you for that?

Let me put it this way: my cubicle comes with a whiteboard that I have no use for, so I put a Star Wars countdown on it and at least three times a day people come over to talk about the mere existence of the new movie with me. :D

I'd put myself at about a 12, partly because it's Risn Johnson me I have NO IDEA where anything's going to go, and I SWEAR TO GOD IF I HAVE TO SEE LUKE DIE WITH MY OWN TWO EYES, and I wanna know who Rey is so I can mock some friends for their bad theories. Gimmeeeeeeeee.

So, what would you say is the most enjoyable thing about playing characters that are difficult for other characters to get along with?

Alluka's never allowed to graduate y/n?

... But since she's probably gonna, someday, is there anything in particular about that part of her life that you're dreading or looking forward to?

I think it's very similar to playing characters who easily make friends in the sense that it's about the interaction. But I've also realized that I find that conflicts are fun to play. Also, it depends on why they're not liked. Usually there's a reason for their behaviour and it's fun to both understand my character and feel sorry for others who have to deal with them.

What is brain? Can I has one?

What is it about your current collection of characters that made you go, "THEM! I MUST APP THEM?"

(They are all stinkin' delightful, by the by.)

What would you say your current character type is?

I think it's a fifty/fifty split between over-exaggerated personality types (Sidon, the Mercahnt of Miracles) and much more dry, muted personalities (Summer, Amaya), although, really, that's not accurate because Summer and Amaya both have things they get really excited about, too. Their default setting is just kind of "meh the world," but it's mostly a front, while Sidon wears everything right there on his non-existent sleeve. I guess a thread through all of them is a passion for something that is essentially the driving force of their personality: for the Merchant, it was money. For Sidon, it's making the world a better, happier, more accepting place. For Summer, it's adventure and popularity, and for Amaya, it's weaponry. They just each approach that passion in different ways. But I've always leaned heavily toward characters that have one core passion that dictates who they are.

Slow because work is terrible.

It's a race between if work is going to make me insane or put me to sleep first.

Did Brooke freak Mike out at all by actually coming back?

With Summer, it got to a point where I seriously could not watch Rick and Morty without thinking, "This girl needs to be in Fandom." I just couldn't stop thinking about this seemingly totally normal teenager waltzing into Fandom and being just so over everything because Fandom is actually more normal than her home life. So then I finally cracked and said, "Okay, let's do this, I need feed this damn brainworm already." And it's been everything I'd hoped for and more.

Sidon came about in a similar way, though, honestly, the idea to bring him in was sparked by a conversation I remember reading between Mara and Rey about how boring Earth is as far as species go at a welcome picnic, how disappointed they were that there weren't more interesting alien types. I've been playing Breath of the Wild non-stop since I got it in April (gotta get all those damn Koroks!!), and Sidon is immediately so charming and I spend way too much time on Tumblr where the Sidon crack is top-notch, so, naturally, it just clicked that he would be a fantastic addition to Fandom to help spice up the monotony of all these humanoids.

And Amaya popped into my head when I was trying to decide what to do about the Merchant of Miracles, because while I've loved the interactions he did have with people, he just wasn't clicking as well for me and I felt more like he was just annoying. I like running T&C, so I was thinking about various shopkeepers in games or books that might make a good replacement, or what might lead them to come to Fandom, and the storyline of the Merchant swindling Amaya (easily one of my new favorite KQ characters) just stuck, and the more I thought about it, the more the idea of her trying to save money and start a blacksmith shop on the island developed and I really liked it. I just wish this month wasn't so crazy for me so I could get her out more.
