meme: reverse questions

Hi! Have a meme. We last did this in November and I posted that one too, la.

Tag in with your characters and then people will comment asking the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR CHARACTERS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this character?", "How do you channel them?", etc).

...Two unexpected days off in a row spoiled me. I'm afraid to go back.

Did you always plan on bringing Edward back or did something in particular inspire it?

Who's your hardest and easiest character to play these days?

Do you have any theories on what Ahsoka was up to before the end of Rebels?

Lucille is the hardest, which is probably why I don't play her much. Seivarden has taken over from Leto as being the easiest, but Breq isn't far behind.

Do you think there's a running theme to your range of characters?

Summer's been such a part of everything that it's kind of weird to have her going home. What are your plans for her?

I'm happy to see Sabine arriving on the island! Anything in particular that made you want to app her?

With Edward, when I apped him, I didn't realize that I was going to be relatively confined in his development because he was pre-canon. He had a chip on his shoulder and a generally pleasant, pleasure-seeking disposition, but he was still just a kid born of sheep farmers dreaming of a better life without much inner conflict. In retrospect I should've realized that most of his more interesting traits - recklessness, self-involvement, habit of leaving large tracks of hubris everywhere he goes, and so on - were still missing in action.

So when he graduated I resolved to push him through canon up to a point where he *would* have those traits, and then bring him back. I actually app lots of characters this way: introduce them, get them some friends, and then turn their world upside-down.

... but then my life got ate, I lost interest in him because other characters sucked up more of my energy, and he wound up in limbo. Now we're a few years in, my biggest character is graduating, and I found myself in need of a fresh wind, to play someone I was excited about without necessarily having to make an investment in a long-term on-island character.

And then I remembered about Edward, perched on the precipe of diving into the more interesting parts of his canon. And realized I'd only have to give him a *little* nudge to get him where I'd enjoy playing him again. Voila!

Not really for once she's gotten off Malachor, but I will maintain right up until canon actually gives us an answer (and even beyond if I don't like that answer) that the way she got off Malachor was that Aphra decided to nurse her totally-not-heartbreak-really-shut-upyou're-heart-broken over breaking up with Sana by looking for valuable Sith relics there and found a hot Togruta babe instead.

It ~~definitely~~ probably ended embarrassingly for Aphra.

Oh, she's not going home for long. She'll be back. And she doesn't want me to say anything more about it because I've been sitting on this idea for a while and playing the long game with it, but we'll just say she'd rather have real world experience running a business than taking community college courses about how to do it.

Plus, they clearly let nearly anyone teach a class at this school, so....

It's a rainy, gray day and I just want to sleep through it.

Oh, goodness yes. Looking at my current type, it's pretty much exclusively outcasts finding their feet among people they never pictured themselves really being a part of, with a side dose of 'former soldiers' or 'has powers.' Which has kind of been my running theme ever since I really first found my feet with a character, alllll the way back to Valentine.

I like 'em weird, and with room to grow. Plenty of trauma to chew on is a bonus, but not necessary so long as there's still something meaty for me to play with re: character growth.

So I had seen a few scattered Rebels episodes but really came into it in season three, so the first thing that really grabbed me were the Darksaber episodes. I’d definitely liked Sabine from the start because the sassy, too-competent chick with anger issues is sort of textbook My Type Of Character, but getting her motivations made me start thinking about how I could play her.

Aaaaand then I couldn’t find the series streaming anywhere to catch up on what I’d missed and couldn’t app her yet, till just before the finale when I binged it. And then i was convinced everyone but Hera and Chopper were gonna die so I was like bargaining for her in my head. “I don’t want Zeb to die, but you can kill him if you leave Sabine,” etc. I was having Thoughts on the colors and art on her armor and what it said. I spent a bunch of time reminding myself I already had a character to app, I don’t need more Star Wars, but then when Shannon recced me stuff to read I had either already ordered it or bought/downloaded it immediately after getting said rec, so I decided I would write a sample and just see how it went.

I wrote four.

Tl;dr I emotionally bonded with this character way too easily help.

I really feel Rey's been shining a lot this semester, and it's been great reading her! What are your plans for her this summer and beyond? And, additionally, what are your hopes for her in the last movie?

Can I go back to sleep now?

Is there anything coming up for any of your characters that you’re looking forward to?

Who's your most challenging character lately and for which reasons?

Considering it didn’t really click on how I should be playing her till the semester before she graduated (sigh, me), she’ll be sticking around for the summer before Portalocity adds her universe to their schedule, at which point she’ll go home to canon.

And then come back because after the events of TLJ, it’d be dumb if she didn’t come back to a place swarming with Force sensitives from all over the canon and Legends timelines.

As for my hopes for Ep 9, I feel like it’s safer not to have any. I assume she’ll be heading up whatever the Jedi become, but I have no idea what that’ll be. If I have a hope, it’s that JJ continues where Rian Johnson left off instead of doing something safer.

Aaah, this one's a toss-up, really. It's either Peridot or (this hurts me to say) Jono.

Peridot because she's kind of... running out of story or growing to do. Her canon gets released SO sporadically and she's basically been relegated to background comedy relief at this point, so there's nowhere left for her to go.

Jono because he's the sort of character to function the best with strong relationships that challenge him, and most (not all, obviously) of the people who did that for him over the years have been retired or have long since moved off-island. At this point I'm just sort of stubborning on through in the hopes that canon will give me something fresh to play with beyond a romantic interest with Jubilee and a tattoo in a very personal place. And it might! In another five years, which seems to be about as long as stints between Marvel remembering he even exists tend to last.
