Meme: Honesty

I'm only awake right now because my cat stampeded across my head, but how about a meme to kick off the week? We haven't done this one since last September and I want to be super nosy from the comfort of my inbox.

I mean -- ahem.

Tag your character into a comment. Other characters reply with how they feel about your character. It can be good feelings, bad feelings, or both - anything you want to get off your chest but it must be the truth and it must be IC. The honesty must be on a character to character basis and not as a player to character as with our anon love memes. Note that the characters don't need to know each other (people can prejudge others by what they hear!) and it can also be characters that aren't on the island.

For the purpose of this meme, characters may have total knowledge of IG events, but, as with any meme, it has no IG consequences.

If you tag your character into the meme, try to comment to other characters with your honest impressions of them and keep checking back during the day to see if new people have tagged in!

You're a really good friend, even if we don't hang out too much. I like that we'll always have jailtime together and that I'll always get good ideas after talking to you. And I like that I actually can talk to you, comfortably, and enjoy it, which isn't true for me with a lot of people. You're just a really nice, genuine, interesting person, and I really like that about you. You're comfortable and you make sense to me, even if you are a total nerd. (But, hey, so am I).

I'm really surprised how my opinion of you has changed. Not that I think we're ever going to be best friends and not that you can't be annoying, but I appreciate our agreement to make some kind of effort.

After all, you made me tea as a kid.

I'm actually a bit fed up with you. All I've tried is to be friendly and to let you know I find you attractive. I'm really surprised that I do, by the way. Anyway, I'll leave you alone from now on.

Keyleth: I appreciate that you mean well-- I can see you trying to do the right thing in class, and I don't entirely think that's you playing a role.

Beau: You get it. You get a lot. I'm pretty sure that means you're stuck with me even if we do manage to make it to Rexxentrum. You're good people, Beau. You just hide it better than some.

Norman: You're a good kid, kid. Keep it up. You might not always be the best, but you always try, and that'll get you far in life. Fortune favors the bold, after all. And there's nothing bold about just sticking with what you know and what's familiar. Takes a lot more guts to try something different, and I'm glad you've found something there in good hard work and a job well done.

Kanan: We haven't really caught up much since I finished up with that sword and all the ones for your practicing, and that's a shame. If anything, I should follow up to see how they're working out for you, but you've always been a real solid person that I enjoy talking to.

Fjord: You're a hard worker, a quick learner, and you never shy away from a challenge. Those are qualities I'd admire in anyone, but you had to go and add being considerate, dependable, and a heck of a lot of fun to it, too. You've set the bar pretty damn high for any apprentice I get that's got the poor luck of having to fill in those boots, and I'm mighty honored for the privledge of calling you a friend.

*cough*

You didn't so much as blink at me when I asked for a job. I mean, you don't seem to have very discerning hiring practices in general, but that still puts you on my list of good people.

You manage to take practicality and wrap it up in a layer of adventure, strength, and hell, even fun. It's a rare person who manages that, and people like that are exactly the sort that I'm happy to give my respect to.

Hell, knowing you is one of the few things that makes not being able to get home tolerable.

Hernando: You seem like a decent sort. Little soft. Probably with tastes a little more sophisticated than my own. But decent.

Jack: I have a small list of people I could see forming meaningful friendships with here on the island. You're on it.

You're maybe one of the most enthusiastic, genuinely kind people I've ever met here. You remind me of my best friend back home, a little, and that's maybe the highest compliment I could ever pay anyone.

Nothing new to report here. I'm insanely lucky to have gotten you for a roommate. You've been incredibly patient in dealing with me before I 'figured it out,' and continue to be patient as I figure out...everything else. I love that our creative energy just feeds off each other and doesn't conflict or clash, that we both have the space to explore our own styles while appreciating what the other has to offer. And I know you're there for me, even if I'll probably never take you up on it, I know I can, and that...helps. A lot.

I'm going to miss you like crazy.

There's a lot I don't tell you because i know you'd worry more if I did, but you have no idea how much it means to me that you worry at all.

Sparkle: You are of my tribe and I'm keeping you. Little worried about you right now but you'll be ok too. I'll do what I can to make sure of that.

Kanan: Ickle. 'Nuff said.

Fjord: You're like a green Kaidan only more fun and far less judgey. ... That's a compliment. It means you're a good guy and you're a good guy in a way that doesn't make me want to make vomit noises. We should go get into trouble sometime.

Jono: You're another of my tribe and I'm keeping you, too. Sorry about the medigel thing. Oops?

Hernando:

Sparkle: Je t'adore. I adore everything about you. Your spirit is beautiful, your heart is great, and you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Kanan: I think perhaps things are better. I hope you, at least, feel better now.

No, I don't trust you. No, your not my friend. For some reason you've decided to cling to me like some fucking, crazy leech, and that's scary. I've had nightmares about you showing up with a weird smile and a sword. I'm dealing with this by pretending to be friendly.

Breq: I'm glad to be able to call you a friend. I don't even hold the dress thing against you -- you didn't know!

Jack:

Breq: You're a good kid and you mean well, but you need to butt out where Seivarden is concerned. If you aren't going to get involved, you have no business telling other people how to handle her. Especially since how she treats people doesn't bother you enough to get involved.

Seivarden: You're a pretty terrible human being and you don't seem to care. We'll see how long that lasts. I, too, am a pretty terrible human being and just your luck, I've learned to care. Kaidan says the most terrifying thing I can say is 'you have my attention', and baby, you got allllll of my attention right now. We're gonna be such good friends. Such. Good. Friends.

Hernando:

Seivarden: I hope you stay out of my store. The way you had a tantrum about the photographs and your instant blame of Sparkle has me worried for him where you are concerned. I do not wish to deal with someone so hateful. I would, of course, treat you politely should you enter my store because I am a professional and it is a service industry but that being said, I truly hope you stay out.

Leto: I hope you visit soon so we can get to know one another better. I would like you for no other reason than you see Sparkle the way I do but I would like us to have a more personal friendship.

Breq: I have enjoyed our few talks and would like to see you more often in the tea house.

You're on the list of people here who didn't immediately write me off as that weird kid with the big ears and the stupid hair, or accuse me of doing anything I do for the attention.

... I really don't want the attention.

But that puts you on my list of good friends, anyway. Thanks for that.

You seem like an interesting paradox between trying too hard and not trying nearly enough. Like, if you don't understand it or it's just too different, it's just easier for you to just dismiss it. Ignore it. Write it off. Make an overused joke about it. You obviously care; I see it with how you respond to other students. I pay attention, probably a lot more than you realize. But those students have the right kind of problems, the kind you know how to deal with...

You actually remind me of my mom sometimes, but without any of her charm and grace and beauty. And I don't need to prove myself to you like I do with her, but I always feel like you think I should. I just don't care enough, though, and I don't see there being much of a reason why I should. Especially not if you don't.
