Character Playlist Meme
Yes. We've had two memes this week. However today is going to be one of those days and I need distractions.
Plus I don't think we've ever done this one before:
Music is an art form which has always inspired creative works. Be it other pieces of music, dance or writing. This meme is a way to let others be inspired by music you associate with either your character or with other people's characters.
How to play -
1. Comment with your character's name and link a song or just a title of a song you associate with your character. Feel free to do more than one if you so wish.
2. Leave a link to a song or a song title that you associate with the other player's characters. Again, feel free to leave more than one if you so wish.
Ideally this will allow us all to built a playlist for our characters that we can enjoy.

Barry Ween
F*** You by Cee Lo Green. Obvious choice really.

Sunflower
What's up Danger?
Jesse Faden
And continuing my cheating, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention 'Dynamite'...
Diego Hargreeves
I Was Made For Loving You Not really a song I associate with Diego but the fight scene with him vs one of the Swedish hitmen from season two is awesomeeeee
Atton Rand
The classic Atton Track is all three parts of Metallica's 'Unforgiven', as well as various other Metallica songs.
'Can't Deny My Love' by Brandon Flowers has been his running musical theme this year.
At least, until fairly recently, now that he's being forced to actually reflect on everything what's happened. He's had a 'insert nelly furtado song here' tag for a long time because 'I'm Like A Bird' summed up his response to emotional connections for a long time, but it's 'Try' that's been my go-to Atton song recently for... reasons.
I have way more, but I'll leave it at that for now.
Cara
Aphra
Amaya Blackstone
...I'll see myself out now. Thanks, guys, it's been real.

With an honorable mention of Vienna Teng's Blue Caravan if I can get a little Katen-specific with him

Also, Jesus Take the Wheel, not because of the lyrics or anything but because Starlight has big Carrie Underwood vibes when she sings, and that is the Carrie Underwood-est song of all.

High Enough - Because a hair band with a song title like is pretty much on point for Eleanor.

Glitter and Gold by Barns Courtney
And the obligatory Florence + the Machine Stand By Me
(Or we could go with the Chocobros one!) (I love them all so much <3)
Adora
The Trick is to Keep Breathing Garbage
Half of You Dessa
Special Ones george
And on the cheaty music from the show front it's not Transformation(which is She-Ra's music)
but Adora's Funky Horde Leitmotif aka Approximately The First Minute of "Promise" both composed by Sunna Wehrmeijer.

Lucifer Morningstar
I was joking the other day that my entire RP career is me just slowly circling to the most literal possible interpretation of 'Hold On To The World' by Kane, which is written as a dialogue between Lucifer and Gabriel. I may have finally peaked.
'That I Would Be Good', by Alanis Morissette, is on my list, and 'Better Man' by Robbie Williams, and I think this is the first time since Arthur Pendragon I've had a character I could blast 'I Will Not Go Quietly' by the Whitlams for.

I'm good at being uncomfortable // so I can't stop changing all the time
FUUUCK. I mean.
Re: Lucifer Morningstar
Duke Crocker
On the "songs I've already established" front, there's also Anna Begins and Round Here by Counting Crows. I decided sometime last year that the whole August and Everything After album was what Duke listened to on repeat as a teenager. (Interspersed with 90s rap, which I don't know enough about to link to.)
And then there's the "this is Duke and Octavia's relationship right now" songs I keep throwing at Corrie, like All My Little Words by Magnetic Fields or Kind of anything by Hozier.
Anyway. I could go on for days. Spotify really enjoys throwing weirdly appropriate songs at me (or my brain just connects literally everything I listen to to whatever I'm obsessing about at the moment, that's also super likely).

Re: Lucifer Morningstar
It mayyyy be a common denominator between many of my characters and I don't want my brain to get muddled.

Re: Lucifer Morningstar
Mae Borowski
Anyway. Weird Autumn and Die Anywhere Else are both from the soundtrack. And Ghosts, Everything Changes, and Crimes! were written by fans. I really don't have to try to find Mae music. *g*

Re: Duke Crocker
Illyana Rasputin
EDIT: Okay, let's do some particulars.
This Girl is Taking Bets, Thea Gilmore.
Pretty much required for the playlist of almost every female character I play. All of them are a little broken in some way.
Invisible Chains, Lauren Jauregui.
In the end, Illyana saved herself from Belasco. In the end, no matter how he tried to smother her light, she broke free.
Arsonist's Lullabye, Hozier.
And the place you need to reach
Don't you ever tame your demons
Always keep them on a leash
Like it or not, Illyana is the Queen of Limbo and its reigning Sorcerer Supreme. She's reaching for something more, something better, but she's always going to need to keep her demonic subjects (and herself) on a leash. Even if she's fonder of letting the little imps (and Darkchilde) out to play than she cares to admit...
Dance in Dark, Au/Ra.
She's still a teenager, though.
In the Shadows, Amy Stroup.
No one has to know
The truth is in the gallows
It'll burn but won't let go
'Yana's still more comfortable with the shadows, emotionally, morally, and physically. There are dark and dangerous hallways in her heart, locked doors full of terrible things in her mind, and sometimes she likes to linger there.
Charlie #3 & Keep the Light On, The Whitlams.
Illyana's seen too many of her friends and family die. Sometimes heroes go out and don't come back. So she'll be the light of Earth's magic as its eventual Sorcerer Supreme, to always try and help them find their way back to her.
Raise Hell, Dorothy.
That doesn't mean she's nice. Bitches get shit done. You might want to get out of her way.
This is Me," The Greatest Showman.
Look, I hate this movie. It's revisionist history cleansing of a person's life at its most pop culture a la Hamilton, but hot damn, this song.
'Yana will find a way to balance her light and dark, damn it all, and you will accept her for who she is. There's nothing more she hates than trying to pretend she's something she's not.
Stark

For Danny, I guess... You Worry Me by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and The Anchor by Bastille the though latter is more shippy.
John Constantine
New Coat of Paint -- Tom Waits, John, and women in his life.
God's Away on Business -- Tom Waits. It's a job.
Henry Rollins. Just pick a song. Any song.
London Calling -- The Clash. John's relationship status with his city would be "It's Complicated." But he always comes back to London in the end.
There is a Light That Never Goes Out -- The Smiths.
God's Gonna Cut You Down -- Johnny Cash. Because we all sell our souls sooner or later, sunshine.
Anarchy in the UK -- Sex Pisols
Liam Kincaid-Price
Anyway, Lost Boy by Ruth B is my go-to Liam song.
