Fandom High Reunion Weekend!

Hello, folks!

Here I am, cheerfully early, to tell you Fandom High will be holding its 20 Year Reunion weekend again on July 30th-31st!

It's been a while since we had one, so here's a refresher on how it works: on Friday, July 29th, all the alumni and expats of Fandom will be invited back for a party, to have a little fun and catch up with old friends.

And then they go to sleep at night. As soon as they wake up, they're no longer their 2022 selves: they've been replaced by whoever they'll be twenty years from now, whether that be in the year 2042 or something ridiculous ABY or even 1642. These older versions of your characters will have arrived to their own, 2042 version of the island the night before - and might need a moment to realize they've woken up in the past.

The event is open to everyone: townies, teachers, students, expats and alumni. In fact, if someone's current self is trapped off-island or spending a year dead for tax purposes, their future self can still show up. Portalocity will just grab their actual physical future self; they won't be taking over a 2022 body. (So future!them can be around on the island for the event, but their trapped/dead modern self isn't going to have memories of the reunion.) Characters who are off-island and can physically make it there, though, will still have to show up normally.

On Monday, everyone will be physically and mentally back to normal - they can remember what their future self did, remember just a little, or remember nothing, depending on your preference. Future characters whose bodies were not originally on Fandom will simply disappear.

Keep in mind that these are possible futures. You're not stuck playing out the events that lead to your reunion version of the character if you participate. The event has been used an opportunity to daydream about where characters might wind up, explore canon futures you'd rather avoid, or even give characters a good kick in the butt about that love interest they've been nobly USTing about. *cough* You're also all encouraged to pick a cool or cracky future PB to show off what your character might look like in 20 years, or use canon icons from that time period, whatever you like.

A Plotterywheel post for ironing out your backstories can be found here. Beyond that: questions? Comments? Turkish Delight? Let us know in the comments!

Very random question but would it be okay if Guillermo could bring along a member of the camera crew from his universe to film him being at his high school reunion?

I thought I’d check first before I start figuring out how to adapt Guillermo’s canon into his FH back story :)

Do our plans have to be ok'd by all cannon mates? Do I need to run any ideas for older Kurt by the other Marvel people?
