Today's event

I swear I posted about this on Wednesday night. I think I may have dreamt that I did. Oops.

Okay, hopefully people saw the posters I put up the other day. Today's event is supposed to be a Fun Run to raise money for the Teal Deer Sanctuary which is open to everyone on the island. That... won't quiet happen, however. Something will be happening to interrupt the run and cause a bit of chaos for the afternoon. Hopefully it will be fun.

The post will be going up shortly. As is usual with these interrupted events, there will be some threads that are waiting for a specific event to occur and everyone should wait to react to those until the proper person pings in.

If anybody has any questions before I get the OOC thread in the post up, please feel free to ask them here.

YOU CAN TALK, OMG: The Hush Plot Ends

The spell is broken, the Gentlemen are defeated, and Fandom is back to normal.

With the Hush plot ending, I wanted to give big thanks to some people who really helped make this event work.

First off, massive thanks to

multi_madrox, who suggested the plot in the first place as a way of giving the town troopers something to do.

The entire admin/mod team really went all out with getting this planned out. Extra big thanks to

drywitmartini and

fh_anonymous for organizing the attacks on Saturday and

rory__gilmore for the organization effort today.

All of our victims and today's assault teams were lovely, the clinic staff worked their asses off, and our Gentlemen (

lilpunkinbelly,

soldtoarmenians,

willbedone, and

multi_madrox) will be giving me nightmares for weeks. Fantastic work, guys.

And thank you to all of our players. You took a situation that could have been a massive inconvenience that we only told you about three days prior to the event and ran with it. For that, we are extremely thankful. It's just further proof that we have a great group of players here.

The Gentlemen: A quick primer

We realize that not everyone is likely to be familiar with Buffy canon or - like several of us - just haven't seen the episode in years. Hopefully this brief rundown helps everyone a little with the action that will be taking place this weekend. If you need any clarification on what they can or cannot do this weekend, feel free to ping an admin and we'll either tell you the answer or make one up.

Important Notice about next weekend

The day of the never-ending announcements continues...

We will be having a big island-wide event next weekend that will be a little different than what we've done in the past. More details will be announced on Wednesday and you'll have the opportunity then to to sign your characters up to play specific parts in the plot. There are a couple things that you won't be able to ignore next weekend, and we'd like to announce one of those things now so you can OOCly plan to deal with it.

Due to the serious danger in Fandom next weekend, the students will be quickly moved from the campground to the dorms for the night and the doors will be locked and guarded. Essentially, we'll be looking at it as a big sleepover.

We're holding off on announcing anything else until Wednesday to keep things somewhat spontaneous. Thank you.

Friday Events: Go Karts!

The Friday Event that everyone seemed so excited about is almost here! The Great Fandom Go Kart Race is less than a week away! When we first came up with the idea we loved it but knew that it would take a lot of work to figure out how to organize a race with the number of people who would want to participate, accounting for time zones, ending up with a winner, and similar concerns.

So we said "Screw it" and are going to have monsters stop the race before it even starts.

Yes, it is time for a big, silly, game-wide monster fight. The threat level will be relatively minor so it can be ignored if you choose. We'd like to keep what the monsters are a surprise, but be assured that it is cracky and it wasn't my idea. Blame someone else for this one.

That said, please feel free to have your characters work on their go karts this week. Just be aware that they [ETA: meaning the go karts, yes] won't survive.
