Staying logged in under both names?
I've just mentioned, in comments to another thread, that I can leave this journal logged in using Firefox, and
dougs logged in using Internet Explorer, and I don't have all that tedious logging in and logging out all the time.
Other people may find this technique useful.
The only trouble is that when I click on a link in a comment notification email (things like "see all comments on this entry") it insists on opening up in the default browser (if I open it in non-browser email client) or in the browser I'm using to read email -- this might be the one logged into the "wrong" account. But I can drag links from one browser into the other one, and they open just fine.
It would probably work just as well if I installed other browsers for third or subsequent accounts.

I log into each account that I want to keep tabs on just once. I have
to open a new window from IE (or a completely new window in Firefox works as well) to do each one, but as long as I do each of them once, I can leave them open all night and never have to worry about logging in or out of any of them again.
Because I have so many accounts, I have dragged my windows taskbar to
the side of my screen. It takes up more space, but I can see twenty
windows there (give or take the size of the screen) before they start folding
on top of each other.
It's an easy and convenient way of keeping track of ALL my lj
accounts... and requires just one login for each.

That's really, really useful.

How are you getting that to work again?

Please note, she may have fiddled with her settings. She's not home so I can't check.
