Mayor of "Town"?

I was wondering what everyone thought about electing a Mayor of "Town" (whatever we finally decide to call it). I'm not personally interested in running, I just thought the idea of a campaign and election going on sounded like fun. We could be more imaginative with the parties than in RL (I'm seeing a "Pure Blood" party, an NRA party, etc.).

Well, given the choice between Riddick or Elrond as leader of anything that isn't connected to fighting space monsters, I'd personally have to go with Elrond. But I suspect the people of Town may not agree. :)

What about student president rather than mayor? That way all the students could apply?

I suppose since the students in this place seem to be allowed to carry firearms and drive/pilot vehicles despite being underage, I guess they could run for Mayor as well (frightening thought that it is).
