FYI: Got this on the room answering machine... feel free to set up your own, I just put both our names on it and people took me up on it. Thus I get the notices. You should probably either set up your own, check it a lot, or give me somewhere to fwd the relevant message links ;-)

Just in case, I wanted to get out there exactly what detention entails.

Congratulations! You just got detention! )

EDIT: Oh, and the principal now has voicemail.

Plot Device

Would it be possible to get [livejournal.com profile] rat_with_scytheadded to FandomHigh and FandomHighDorms? Not really a new character, persay, but more of a plot device. I figured the seperate journal would make it less confusing.
[identity profile] jerusalem-s.livejournal.com
A few things.

One, could the people who think they're in one of my classes check the Current Student Roster and be sure that the information is accurate?

Two, everyone on the fandomhigh membership list as of yesterday morning should now have access to the dorms and the ooc list. I'll be pulling the list again this morning and checking it, but as of this afternoon everyone who should have access should at least have received an invitation. If you're uncertain, go here and check.

Townies Info List is as up to date as the information that I have. Please leave a comment if I need to change anything.

Thank you.

I made a back-dated entry here for the binge that the Assistant (I so need a Phoebe icon that says "The Assistant") and the interns are going on.

Phoebe is bringing Belthazor because she figures he might have evil insight and additions on what they can do for their little vengeance plot.

Again, sorry for standing you all up last night. It was not a good one.

Have a storyline idea, but requires character with a backstory where someone is trying to kill them.

Related to this post, would it be a dumb idea for us to put our schedules in our character's userinfo? Not saying we have to write down each time we have to go to the bathroom, but things like time zone and general work/school schedule might be useful for those of us who hit refresh obsessively who don't know why a character just went silent.

A thought...

Has there been any word on English or Intro to Business? I've checked the archives (obsessively), and I just want to make sure I haven't missed class. Heh.

Gee... IRL, I'm never this worried about missing class. Funny, that.
[identity profile] principalconnor.livejournal.com
A quick request.

Next weekend, I'll be moving from VA back to PA, which means Principal Connor, John Connor, and Jubilee will be AWOL. I'm probably going to send John and Sarah on a sabbatical with lots of explosions, but what it means is that I'll be away from the computer from Friday, September 23rd until either the following Monday or Tuesday.

So here's what I'm asking. I just want someone to play assistant principal and watch FH, OOC, and the other comms for those few days. [livejournal.com profile] jerusalem_s, you're first on my list to do that, but if you can't do it, I understand. And if you can, is there anything else you can think that you might need out of me before then?

I'm also wondering, where do the teachers live? Is there a community or do we just say 'I live _x_' and that's okay?

Wednesday Addams

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 02:03 pm
[identity profile] addams-daughter.livejournal.com
Just to be perfectly clear, I'm taking my idea of Wednesday Addams mostly from the original Chas Addams cartoons with only hints of the television show and the movies. This means that she has a very large supply of various weapons of mayhem just off-screen, access to a house full of ghoulies and other macabre and possibly deadly things and regards chaos and bloodshed alike with a pleasantly serene exterior. She wears a lot of black, doesn't so much dabble in the arcane as wallow in it, and regards 'normal' things with an air of mildly surprised puzzlement.

She comes from a place wherein you stash the corpses just because it's untidy to simply leave them lying about, not necessarily because you're afraid of being caught. Her idea of normal would be the tentacle monster in the bathroom, the gremlin infestation and the idea that blackmailing/torturing/maiming your classmates is nothing to raise eyebrows at.

So if she wanders around without exhibiting any surprise at the ghoulies, magic and mayhem, it's because she's used to it. High tech stuff, however, is going to confuse her to no end. She has a laptop, but other than the basics she has no idea what it's capable of.

I suspect she is going to completely horrify Mrs. Van de Kamp for, despite her somewhat bizarrely upper-class family and the large amounts of money at her disposal... her idea of party planning consists mostly of determining the rate at which the punch will eat through the crystal punch bowl and who should not be seated at the table with the cannibals.

General plans

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 02:38 pm
[identity profile] notashepherd.livejournal.com
Hello, everyone.

As mentioned elsewhere, my plan with Shepherd Book is to play him pre-Firefly, which means I'm going to delve into that mysterious past he has. While we don't know too much exactly, I think it's apparent he had something to do with The Alliance (based on the ident card incident in "Safe" alone), and I think it also seems he's had plenty of experience with military tactics and rules (several examples come to mind, 1 in "The Train Job"-- he knows who Niska is, and that alone speaks volumes. Another example, "The Message" has him telling off a government operative based on rules he knows to be true. Etc, etc).

Given this information, it's my idea that Book started working with The Alliance rather young-- high school age. In my mind, he's about 16 or 17 at this point, and on his first "mission" with The Alliance, which he's taking very seriously, although he's still learning and occasionally slips up in the secrecy aspect of things.

So, the idea for the mission is that he's supposed to observe several students who may be of interest to The Alliance. Originally, I thought I'd just have him observing Simon and River Tam, but then I thought that seemed a bit limited, given the amount of students at Fandom High who are immensely intelligent or talented, or both. Underneath the cut is my initial list of people for Book to keep an eye on. I ask you all to let me know if you're averse to being observed, and I also ask that anyone who knows their character falls into the "immensely intelligent/talented" category mention if they'd want to be added to this list. There are a *lot* of fandoms in this crowd that I know nothing about, as well as about 100 people I haven't been able to wade through yet. I know I missed some people.

Book's Assignments )

A few other notes:

River, I've started reading through a bit of your journal, and I notice that you seem to be playing River post-Alliance brainplay. My thoughts on THIS are that Book initially sees her, gets excited that he can prove himself to The Alliance, and reports her presence to them. They tell him to hold tight, to see how she will respond to this new environment with so many other extraordinary people, and believe she may be useful at Fandom High somehow, so long as they have someone watching her.

As for many others of you-- I have not had the time to read through all your journals, and don't know exactly how you're playing your characters or the timeline you're playing them on. I'll hopefully be doing this over the next few days, but my schedule does not allow for a lot of online time, unfortunately. I again ask that if you do not want Book observing you, please let me know. He's going to be unobtrusive and simply watching to see what talents and skills emerge. In no way will he interfere with any of your plots or storylines unless we all collaborate and decide that something more than observing should happen.
[identity profile] jerusalem-s.livejournal.com
Students and Faculty and, yes, Townies too. Please be sure that your character has their full name and the name of their fandom on their info page, please. Flipping through some of the pages as I add people to communities or try to add them to informational lists, it drives me completely round the damn bend when I have 300 students/faculty to organize and I come to one without a full name or fandom.

If you don't have them listed, I'm not going to go looking.

Please have some consideration for the almost 300 other players, a large number of whom may have no clue who you are, and give at least those two basic pieces of information. More would be good and possibly encourage people to actually play with you, but those two tiny facts are essential.

Thank you for your observance.

Website Update

Domain and hosting acquired. Domain should actually point to site by the end of the day, but there's just a goofy website that I point to as an example of what happens when a Template-based WebBuilding-type software and a crazed mind collide. I'll be working diligently on the site for the next week or so. If I thought any of my characters were any good at web design, I'd conscript them to do so in-game.

[livejournal.com profile] principalconnor, I'll e-mail you or something and we can talk about what to do with this.

Recent post from [livejournal.com profile] sueofthecamels about dorm rooms reminded me...

I haven't posted House's living arrangement.

I considered putting him in the dorm, but decided against it. Since he doesn't like people, dorm living would only make him more grumpy and irritable.

Therefore, he has an apartment behind the clinic. I'm going to say it has a door to the main hallway, can be accessed through the clinic,a nd there is an outside door.

Not that it matters because very few, if anyone, will ever be invited to House's place, but he has three rooms. A bedroom, living area/office, and kitchen. Plus a handicapped equipped bathroom, because, well. That is, in my mind, the one area he can not gloss over his disability. With the potential for slick floors and such, he relents to the bars for assistance.

Uhm.

OOC:

1.[livejournal.com profile] not_an_ex_demon got me thinking about all the different time zones, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to comment here with what country they are commenting from? I'll put everyone who comments on a list and post that at a later date. Maybe it's just my curiosity, but it could help knowing who's almost in the same time zone as you.

2.I asked [livejournal.com profile] principalconnor about Fran teaching health at [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh in the enrollment post a while ago, just wondering if there was somewhere else to ask.

3.I hate making ooc posts because I generally sound like a tit or offend someone. If I have, I am sorry.

I know you're all clever, clever people, so can you help me out with my problem?

I currently have 260-odd people friended plus 10 communities. Needless to say, attempting to go through my friendslist is already murder, so I was hoping someone could suggest friendsgroups to create, since on one hand, I don't want to miss potential fun, but on the other, I don't have the time to go through all posts every day, and I would like to have Jake at least shuffling into his classes, even if it's late.

And the only group I have set up so far is Newspaper. *wry*

...and that was the longest sentence ever up there.

EDIT TIME!

Things that Really Should Be in Your User Lookup or a Convienient Link:

-Full names and aliases
-Fandom, and if there is more than one canon, note that ( I look at myself here)
-Your Room number and, if any, Roommate
-Classes
-If you are a TA, might want to note that. Don't we have a comm for TAs?
-A Physical description. If you have more than one look, detail them both. (looks at self again. Grrr)

--If you have nonhuman powers, good idea to line them out. y0.

It would make everyone's lives much easier, I would think.

Mayor of "Town"?

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com
I was wondering what everyone thought about electing a Mayor of "Town" (whatever we finally decide to call it). I'm not personally interested in running, I just thought the idea of a campaign and election going on sounded like fun. We could be more imaginative with the parties than in RL (I'm seeing a "Pure Blood" party, an NRA party, etc.).

Anyone here have a charrie who works at the clinic? They may be needed...
[identity profile] studentwillow.livejournal.com
General plotting post:

FIRST, ATTENTION ALL BUFFY CHARACTERS: I'm not sure exactly where Willow's character falls in the timeline right now. Probably somewhere earlier than season five. I see her as approximately around season three(?), practicing magic, but definitely pre-Tara. She's got feelings for girls but not sure what to do with them yet. Still kind of a girlfriend to Oz.

[livejournal.com profile] not_an_ex_demon, your character seems to be on a very different timeline. We'll have to figure out how to reconcile the two.

The backstory on how Willow got to fandomhigh: Sunnydale was completely obliterated by the Hellmouth, rather reminiscent of a recent hurricane's effects on a Gulf Coast state. She was airlifted off a mall parking lot roof as part of the Hellmouth Airlift and taken to a refugee facility in LA where she and several thousand other former residents of Sunnydale were aided by the Hellmouth Disaster Victims Relocation Authority in resettling. She arrived at [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh rather earlier than the other students and got her own room because of her good grades and, I think, although [livejournal.com profile] principleconnor would never admit it, because of her PTSD status.

ATTENTION ALL THOSE MAGICALLY INCLINED AND INTO PARALLEL UNIVERSE-TYPE STORY LINES
Willow's room is very cozy, but the windows have completely refused to budge. She's tried everything she can think of to get them open and will eventually resort to magical means. What she doesn't know ::duh-duh-DAAA:: is that the windows are actually a portal to another dimension. Haven't figured out what's on the other side. Maybe a world exactly like this one only entirely different. I'd love to get some others involved in that story line if there is interest.

Aeryn, Cameron Mitchell, I'd like your help, please? If not, we'll probably still do it, but it might be a lot harder.

Crichton, don't look!

And if you're none of the above, don't look. It'll spoil it for you. )
