Hey teachers (current and new),
During the regular school year, we have a program in place that allows teachers to be mentors for a certain number of students. The teacher is then responsible for helping the student out when needed, answering any questions for them and providing them with guidance. The level of interactivity is completely up to the student and teacher (ie: you arrange your level of activity yourselves). Basically, the program provides an opportunity for students to have someone on staff who they can go to in times of need or torment on a regular basis, and provides teachers with an in to develop close bonds with several students without it being creepifying.
What's going to happen now is we're going to ask for teachers who want to volunteer for this program to sign up here. All we need is an indication that you're willing to be part of the program and how many students you're willing to mentor. Try not to make it a ridiculous number, but you should know your own limits better than we do so it's up to you within reason.
Once we have our volunteers and our new students, there will be another post set up for them to sign up with their Top 5 preferences and then we'll try to match people up the best we can. Teachers cannot request specific students though.
So teachers, if you're interested, sign up below. Just say you're interested and how many students you're willing to take on. Comments are screened.
