A few quickie reminders for this booktastic Tuesday:

1) Anyone planning to drop characters (any type, but especially students and teachers) we ask that you notify us at the admin email address (administration@fandomhigh.net) as soon as you've decided so we can keep things nicely updated as we prepare for the new term!

2) Current Teachers, please submit your spring classes here by 12/18.

3) Big Sibling/Teaching Buddy volunteer sign ups end 12/18.

4) Current Students requesting new roommates please do so here by 12/19.

5) APPLICATIONS close Sunday, 12/19 at 11:59pm Pacific, so get to it!

Hi all!

A couple of important dates are coming up. We have return to the dorms, and we have the last day that those who won't be with us next semester can be on the island.

Return to the dorms: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! For one day only, the 24th of August, we have return to the dorms!

Last day to be on the island: Alumni, teachers who are leaving us, and students who won't be returning next semester need to be off the island by Thursday, 28 August. Which is also the Day of the Flavouring, so there will be one last touch of weirdness before they leave.

(Also, you have about nine-ish hours before apps close - midnight PST - there's still time!)

Time for a little info dump!

As you may or may not know, new students are arriving on Saturday the 5th of July! (YAY!). All non-alumni characters who are going to be off-island for the second term of workshops need to leave the island by the evening of the 4th. Alumni characters who aren't staying for the second term should be off the island by the 13th of July, so you have a little more time to say your goodbyes if you're heading off for good.

If your character is returning to the island for the second term and an earlier arrival hasn't already been approved as part of a plot, he or she will be welcome back on the island on or after the 5th with the new students and teachers.

In other news, workshop sign-ups will be available by tonight. It's not first come first served, so no rush, but the deadline will be Friday the 4th at midnight PST. If you're going away for the 4th or for a good portion of this week, make sure you sign up early so you don't miss out as not signing up without a good reason (computer loss, meteor landing on your house, ferret invasion) will mean your character will be removed from the game and you'll have to reapp them come Fall. More details on that tonight.

Hello alumni! This is directed at those alumni still in Fandom, but has some information for alumni off-island as well (and there's a note down the bottom for characters leaving for good).

Leaving Date: All alumni must be on their merry way and out of Fandom by August 31. Please keep in mind though that we'll be getting a stack of new characters around that time, so if you want your farewell to get some attention, make sure you consult the others still on weekenisland to stagger your departures.

Homecoming: All alumni are, as usual, welcome back in Fandom for Homecoming. You guys will be able to stay at the Arms Hotel or anywhere else in town. You'll be able to wander about on campus for that weekend, but not stay on campus. We'll have dates for that ASAP once we figure out the other key events for the semester.

Other Events: In addition to Homecoming, we'll be having a few more scheduled days where alumni can come back to Fandom for the day. Unless otherwise specified, the day will just be a single day, so the alumni coming to visit will have to be off the island by the following morning. Again, you'll be staying in town but will have access to the campus. You're welcome to try to be involved in plots on those days (dates pending), but please keep in mind that you may not be the only one wanting to run a plot then, some may clash with others and we might have to ask you to hold off until next time. The best way to avoid this is to get in early.

Leaving Characters: For all non-alumni characters leaving Fandom, you'll also need to be off-island by August 31 as the new semester starts the following Monday.

Hi guys!

This is a reminder for a couple of things.

If you have a character that you know is leaving at the end of the semester, please let us know as soon as you can!

Teachers wanting to keep teaching for Fall Semester should submit their class proposals here by August 17.

Remember applications for students and teachers are still open until August 17 (townies are always open). We're getting a good load in, so join the fun. Current players and newcomers welcome! We love our fresh meat.

And last but not least, the entire

fandomhigh_ooc community will be tagged up by tonight. I'm just working on September 05 and we're set, so it should be easier to navigate now instead of pressing 'Previous 20 Entries' a bazillion times.

Well, I lied, that wasn't the last one. I feel you all should know that I'm out of chocolate. This is a sad and tragic occasion.

Just wanted to say thank you to all who helped make FH a great RPing experience for me and for House. I appreiciate each and every one of you.

Unfortunately Admin decided House is unable to maintain communication with the people he cares about in Fandom, but if he told you he would keep in contact, please assume that he would.

It's been a good run for me, I'm rather emotionally attached to this particular RP version of House. I will miss you guys. Well, some of you.

I know quite a lot of people don't have Cat's journal friended so this is a quick note to say he's leaving. He has to pack up all his clothes before he'll leave, so if anyone wants to stop by and say goodbye to him while he does so it'll take him most of the day then he's leaving tomorrow.

I'm sorry to be retiring him (especially to the person who talked to me about a job) but tbh he's really really hard to write and get to interact as he's so shallow and self-centred, I probably should have thought of this before, also with my other RPGs I just don't have time to play him really.

After much thought and consideration I have decided to withdraw Fred from Fandom High. I simply do not have the time to play her as she deserves. I will not be placing her up for adoption as she does have some extensive Fandom Canon that a new person wanting to play Fred in the future may not want to deal with. My other character however is still very much involved in Fandom High and will continue to be.

It is with sadness that I must withdraw Anya from Fandom High. Although I love it, I just don't have the time it takes to be a student in the game. I will miss playing with you all and with any luck maybe something in town will open up so I can still bring her out to play occasionally.

Every character that, as far as I know, is returning next term

IT IS IMPERATIVE that I get any necessary corrections to this list: additions, deletions, changes, etc. This is the list that prospective new students will have as a reference for taken characters (although there are probably a few others that are off limits, at least for the moment, due to the manner of their departure).

I'm almost certain that I haven't removed everyone who needs removal, so please let me know if there's someone I have forgotten.

It looks like I will be withdrawing Evie from the game for a little while. I'm sending her home to Egypt for the holidays and she probably won't be back for the next semester. I'm not sure yet. I may ask to bring her back at another open registration, but for now, I think it's best she goes home for awhile.

It is with some sadness that both

jerusalem_s and I announce our resignation from the game, effective at the end of term. We feel that the transition from Fall to Spring would be a good time for us to move on to other projects.

In our place, we've brought on some wicked awesome new administrators:

wyld_stallyn,

futurebucs_star, and

chloe_sullivan, joining the previously announced

t_servo.

_red_xiii_ will remain as Townies administrator/mayor.

Additionally, we've brought on some neat moderators:

bugofjustice,

fh_anonymous.

Spider and I will still be around throughout the rest of the term, however, our roles will be reduced as we let the new admins take charge.

Between moving, additional responsibilities in other places and my sudden realization that I completely lack the ability to keep up with Wednesday's classes for the rest of the term, I'm going to withdraw her from the game at the end of the week. My apologies to everyone who has been interacting with her, and I will try to finish any/all open scenes before I remove her from play entirely on Saturday.

efferton_manor will remain and I have a possible caretaker already lined up to submit an application as a townie next term. Hyde will be staying with the Manor with the new caretaker.

I've had a wonderful time and I wish that I could continue, but I can't keep up with classes and class work right now. My deepest apologies.

RL has intruded, unpleasantly, on the fantastic crack that is FH. While the timing couldn't be worse, I have to back away from the Game.

It's possible that I may be able to return in the spring when certain obligations are fulfilled, but it's not fair to make anyone wait on me. If anyone wants to do something with Beka right now, feel free to respond to this post. If not, I'll send her home during Thanksgiving and put her on the run from her family and school and see what happens.

OOC: I'm afraid Padme is going to have to step down as professor. I'm about to get a new place to live and I cannot guarantee my abilities to keep up with the regular duties of an instructor until things settle.

I don't want to completely leave fandom high. I'd love to keep her on in another position that requires less responsibility. I have placed two emails saying as much, but have yet to hear back.

I love this game and don't want to step out completely.

Unfortunately, the school in RL has bested me, and ~~will harbor no other mistress~~ demands that I play no more. Sorry folks.

I thought about putting Mustang up for adoption, but I'd rather just eliminate the journal, so if someone new wanted to apply as the character they could do so without being constrained by how I played him. Can people do that? Or would it be better for me to put him up for adoption?

Anyway, this is official notice. If anyone is looking for victims in their plot, I can put myself in place to die mysteriously, if you'd like.

Gandalf is no longer a player in Fandom High. If dropping Comparative Religion results in your character having less than three classes, you have until Tuesday to add a new one. Forms can be found outside Dean Bristow's door.

ETA: Beatrix Kiddo is up for adoption. Nobody's picked her up yet as far as I know, so you may want to take that into consideration if you're in Martial Arts.

I hate to do this as I love the character. but I am removing Dawn from teacher status. I get so involved with my other characters and I forget about her or that she has classes to teach. I'm very sorry, I thought I could do everything.

I would like to relegate her to townie status with an esoteric store. That way, she'd still be around with her special brand of reality and ~~sex appeal~~. How would I go about doing that?

Hey everyone,
Just saying I am giving up Caroline because the time differences are just too great, the only way I get play is if I'm up till 4, 5 or 6am and then the next day real life suffers something insane.
I think maybe New Zealand's time zone is just a bit far off to stay in the game, for me at least, even with slow time.
Therefore, fare thee well!
This has been the best RP I have ever been in, and all you guys seriously rock.
My hat is off to the admin here, you guys are doing a most wonderful job, and you have all made Fandom High an awesome place to be.
