Hi guys, sorry about not putting this up sooner. All graduation guests that were submitted are good to come to Fandom tomorrow morning. Look forward to seeing them!

Hello seniors!

Graduation is coming up quickly, so it's time to get on the ball and get things organized. Here's an information dump post with everything you need to know about graduation and everything we need to know from you.

Pre-Graduation Events
There will be a pre-graduation hoorah party on Friday, May 4.
There will be a post-graduation brunch on Sunday, May 6.

There will possibly also be a few smaller events the week before graduation. Details pending.

Graduation Ceremony

When: Saturday, May 5, 2007
Where: Fandom High
What: A ceremony with a musical performance and guest speakers. Seniors will receive their senior diploma. (And come on, it's Fandom High, you know something big is going to happen)
Who: Seniors, guests/guardians of seniors (max 3) and current alumni.

Invited Guests

Graduating seniors can have up to 3 guests come to Fandom for the ceremony. If you really need more than 3 for some reason, contact us. There can be exceptions to the maximum for good reasons. They can arrive on Friday, May 4 and must leave by the morning of Monday, May 7.

All guests (including returning alumni) will be required to stay in town. The Arms Hotel will be available for rooms with a discounted weekend package deal. Guests will be allowed on campus for the weekend.

Invited guest NPCs can have their own journal (ala Parents Weekend), but all guests (whether your character knows about their appearance ICly or not) must be approved in advance.

Please provide us with the following information for each guest:
Name:
Relationship to Student:
Journal Name:
Who will be playing this character?: (outsiders welcome)

In order for your guest/s to attend, you must submit this information by Wednesday, May 2. No late submissions will be accepted. Email them to administration@fandomhigh.net

Again, this is only for seniors. Other classes are more than welcome to attend, but you can't bring your own guests.

Staying in Fandom Over Summer

We gathered tentative answers from you before, but now we need to know for sure if you intend on staying in Fandom for Summer Semester Term 1. You may leave for Term 1 and return for Term 2, but will have to be gone by the end of the Summer.

Graduating seniors who are remaining in Fandom must have a set activity that they will actively participate in. There will be the opportunity to participate a construction/manual labor effort or you may be a "TA" type workshop assistant for a teacher (you must arrange this yourself with a teacher, one workshop assistant per workshop) or you now have the option of leading a workshop yourself.

Please note, by submitting a proposal to lead a workshop you agree to stick around for the whole term, will be treated like a teacher, will be expected to act like a teacher and will be required to abide by the same rules as a teacher (exception being that you can still go into common room/campfire posts).

If you wish to lead a workshop, please submit your proposal here:
http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh_ooc/413066.html

Please don't send in proposals for any weapons/explosives/combat/survival type courses. We have plenty and won't be accepting any more. Feel free to contact one of the admins or mods to discuss possible options. Your submission for workshops must be in by Thursday, April 26. No late submissions will be accepted.

ETA: Post has been edited to fix up the form for invited guests and tell you where to send the info.

ETA 2: As with last year, all residents of Fandom are welcome to attend the ceremony. The only people that are considered 'invited guests' are people from off the island.

School Board

Hi!

School board members should have invites waiting for them now. You can go here to check them:

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/invites.bml

There's a morning brunch post as a meet and greet for the visitors. All welcome. School board members are also welcome to come into Fandom now for any posts set from Monday morning onwards.

Have fun!

There is a dinosaur at the Meet and Greet.

Chase and Old Lace are Molly's visitors this weekend. Any time you see [livejournal.com profile] talkbackchase anywhere, there is a good bet that Old Lace is there too. Or at least close by.

Also, if anyone else has any extremely noticeable visitors, please feel free to use the comments of this post to list them.

For the weekend, we have disabled screened comments to all of the communities (even this one) so your parents and friends can move around freely and can even come to inspect those dorm rooms I'm sure you all tidied up so well.

If for plotty or other reasons you think you might need actual posting access, ping us here or grab us on IM and we'll set something up.

For those parental thingies with new journals, it might be a good idea to check out your account settings at the message center as lj tends to have the default be a tiny bit spammy.

If there are any questions or problems, feel free to grab the nearest admin to ask them or spam me here. Yay spam!

Today is the last day to sign up to have visitors for Parents Weekend. Any visitors not signed up by tonight will not be allowed to attend.

Just another reminder to sign up your visitors for Parents Weekend. All visitors must be signed up by Thursday, October 19th.

A reminder to sign up your visitors for Parents Weekend. Sign-ups close Thursday. This is a great opportunity to suck new people into the game by getting them to play a visiting character from your fandom.

Please remember to run guests by any other players in your fandom as a courtesy. But most of all, remember to sign up! If you don't sign up the visitor by Thursday (whether your character knows they're coming or not), they can't come.

It's gonna be a fun weekend. Don't miss out!

Hello!

It's time to get your info in for Parents Weekend. The idea of Parents Weekend is to have someone from your canon (parent, guardian, family member, friend, other) show up for the weekend with the intention of looking around the school and checking up on you. It's a good time for plottiness and wackiness and lots of fun.

But in order for such a mammoth occasion to run smoothly, we need to know in advance who is coming, even if your character doesn't know.

So please provide the following information in a comment to this post.

Visitor Name:
Visitor Relationship:
Journal Name: (please have the journal created and the name confirmed before replying here)
Who is playing this character for the weekend?: (name, email address would be good)

You can play the visitor yourself, or a current player can, or even someone who is not related to the game at all can play. This is the one weekend a year that we allow outsiders to join in on the fun for the weekend. Ask around. Ask your friends. Get your non-FH friends sucked in and hooked on the crack.

Visitors will be able to arrive on the Friday evening. They will need to find a place in town to stay (the Arms is a good place for that) and then they are free to mingle. On Saturday and Sunday they will have the opportunity to come onto school grounds, sign in, have full access to the school (except Special Collections) and be able to attend mixers, tours, demonstrations, etc.

Visitors will then need to leave on Sunday night.

Things to note:

* Plottiness still needs to be run by us so we can make sure everything runs smoothly.
* We reserve the right to discuss any problems that might arise with your visitor
* Most teachers will be available that weekend to talk to visitors and discuss the students' progress. If there are certain things you don't want revealed, then please make sure you let your visitor and teacher know well in advance
* You are not required to have someone visit. This is a totally voluntary weekend. There are ways around having people visit. They fell ill. They got lost. There was a paperwork mistake. The causeway wouldn't appear for them. Alien invasion. Arrested by the IRS. Etc.

In order to have your visitor come to Fandom, you will need to respond to this post by Thursday, October 19th. If you do not submit your visitor by then, they cannot come and you will have to miss out, so be sure to get in ASAP!

All comments to this post will be screened to avoid spoiling any plot surprises. :D

Parents Weekend

Hi all. We have another event set up for the near future and it seems like a good time to announce it so people have plenty of time to make arrangements. The weekend of October 21-22, we will be welcoming the families of our students to visit. That's right, we're doing Parents Weekend all over again.

In a couple weeks, we'll have a post asking you to give us the following information: who (if anyone) is visiting, who will be playing them (current FH players and non-players are welcome!), and what the journal name of the visitor will be. This is one of those rare occasions where it's perfectly fine to create a separate journal for a visiting NPC. Also, please remember that we will still need to approve any significant plottiness.

If for some reason you want your character's family to not receive invitations, that's fine. The office is run by slightly crazed clones, squirrels, gremlins, and generally weird people. Misplaced paperwork is not an issue.

If you have any questions at the moment, we're happy to answer them. Otherwise, we'll be bugging you for information soon. Thank you for your time!
[identity profile] drywitmartini.livejournal.com
This Friday there will be a Careers Fair held on school grounds. The event is game-wide and as such all characters are welcome to attend. There will be individual threads for each stall. Each stall will be run by a guest star who will speak about their profession, answer any questions that people might have and perhaps do something else to spice up their presentation (give a presentation, give away freebies, etc).

If you have an idea for a guest star and would like for them to appear at the Careers Fair, please take the following into consideration first:

* The character will not be allowed to interact outside the Careers Fair threads.
* The character must be there to benefit ALL students and interact with them, not just one or two students for plotty/cracky purposes.
* You will be expected to run the character all Friday afternoon. You must be available to do so without relying too heavily on slow play. (Seriously, don't sign up if there's even a chance that you won't be around.)

If you think that your idea fits into these categories, then please email your idea to administration@fandomhigh.net by Wednesday evening in this format:

Who the Heck Are You?:
Guest Character's Name:
Fandom:
Profession: (if you can't pin it down, then it's not a good idea)
Link to Character Info:
Anything Else We Should Know?:

You will find out by Thursday if your guest character proposal is accepted. If it is accepted, you will receive further instructions on how to proceed for Friday.

Please consider suggesting a character with an interesting profession. There are limited places and this is meant to be a fun event, so the interesting ones (without being too ridiculous) will take precedence over boring professions.

Parents can claim a room for parenty type things, drunken trysts, or general freakouts. Have fun!

Take your room at the Arms Hotel

Sorry this took so long, folks. Those lucky 12 NPCs for the VillainCon are:

[livejournal.com profile] sketchy_girl - Mora, Power Rangers: SPD
[livejournal.com profile] voldiesfangirl - Bellatrix Lestrange, Harry Potter
[livejournal.com profile] mad_inventor - Buddy Pine/Syndrome, The Incredibles
[livejournal.com profile] dumpsterqueen - Rita Repulsa, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
[livejournal.com profile] rocketmaster - Jessie of Team Rocket, Pokemon
[livejournal.com profile] rocketbitch - James of Team Rocket, Pokemon
[livejournal.com profile] rambaldifan815 - Arvin Sloan, Alias
[livejournal.com profile] madsciencekink - Doc, Hellsing
[livejournal.com profile] warconductor - The Major (accompanied by The Captain), Hellsing
[livejournal.com profile] mascara_of_evil - Alti, Xena: Warrior Princess
[livejournal.com profile] 4inskokieil - Roger "Verbal" Kent, The Usual Suspects
[livejournal.com profile] crankycaretaker - "Old Man" Alowishious Withers, Scooby Doo

And those join [livejournal.com profile] mindfreller, [livejournal.com profile] il_brutto_tuco, and [livejournal.com profile] cupidofcrime.

So folks... get a-plotting and a-scheming. This is going to be so much crack, seriously.

And now the mun flees off to continue the oppression that is being home, argh...

Villain applications for VillainCon 2006 are now extended until Sunday, at 6 pm CST. We've been getting a few more great apps trickling in, so we want to give everyone ample time.

Thank you.

For one of Padme's classes, there's going to be a guest speaker. I'm wondering if there's any sort of objection to me using a semi-defunct character journal to act as the speaker? It would make the comments/ replies a bit easier to keep straight.
