Hi all.

Starting today, there's going to be some changes to how the Clinic operates, just to make it a bit simpler and easier with the small roster. The Clinic will continue to have a day shift and an evening shift, but there will only be one post a day. OCD threads will cover the day and the evening shifts; one of those will be taken by the character posting, the other by the moddable NPC nurse.

As always, if you know you'll need the clinic for something big, please let us know in advance so we can coordinate. It's also not a bad idea to give whoever's day it is a heads up if you know you're going to need them.

The position of head of the clinic is still open, so if anyone is interested in apping a Townie to take it over, applications are always open. It's responsible for OOC organisation of the clinic and rosters, and making sure everything's covered off clinic-wise during big plots and BDEs.

Until then, please send any clinic questions or heads ups (that looks really wrong) to the administration (at) fandomhigh.net email address.

If you've questions, this would be a good place and a great time to ask 'em.

ETA: The current roster is up on the clinic user info.

(And yup, operates was totally a pun.)

Here is an intro and primer to the medical facilities of [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh.

Snip, snip, sweetheart. )

Also, if you have a character with medical skills or magical healing abilities and would like to take a shift or two at the clinic, email me or come in during one of Christian's shifts. We can use the help! :)

BDE and You

Hello!

Today, our BDE friends will be appearing. That is to say, dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures will be fading into existence around Fandom.

There will be no fighting today. That will be for tomorrow and Sunday. You can interact with the dinos that appear today and there will be a post made available for that tonight, but they will not be aggressive types and are not open for fighting, so please don't provoke them.

For those who haven't been through a BDE before or those who might want a refresher, here's a basic run-down of what goes on.

Friday: Dinosaurs and other creatures appear! No fighty, but by Friday night you can probably get the feeling that something bad/weird is about to happen.

Saturday: The attack begins. This will occur in a specific post and will contain an OOC note at the bottom giving instructions and opening it up to the rest of the town. There will be a post for specific locations for the big fights and plenty of smaller dinosaurs (raptors omg) running around to wreak havoc. Also, research in the library (see thread below).

Saturday Night: You will need to find somewhere either in the dorms or in town to settle in for the night. It will not be safe at all to wander around and you're as good as dead if you do. If you want to be with someone in particular, be sure to arrange it OOCly because you're not going to be able to move around during the night. A Council of War (consisting of the people in charge and whoever else is at Caritas) will come up with a plan of attack for the next day. It will not necessarily succeed.

Sunday: More fighting and there will be a big grand fight with a bunch of dinosaurs and a special guest at the Rocky Bits. At the same time, people from the research crowd will have figured out how to get rid of the dinosaurs (and how they got here) and will be enacting a plan to do just that. The dinosaurs will be gone on Sunday night and everything will be back to relative normality by Monday morning.

Stuff You Should Know

* Due to the nature of the enemy's appearance in Fandom, magic will not be as effective as it normally would. Any attempts to outright dispose of the enemy with magic will fail. Attempts to freeze or damage the enemy will not be as effective as usual and will sap the magic user's energy more than they expect it to. Powers such as alchemy, bending and superpowers will not be affected unless it involves a deus ex machina type result.

* The BDE has a set beginning and a set end. You don't have to worry about those parts. We've got it covered. Please don't try to act out your own way to save the day and get rid of the enemy and expect it to work. It won't, because it's much more fun if everyone gets their chance to fight and play for the weekend.

* There are actual people who play the dinosaurs out of [livejournal.com profile] fh_fillers (since we're almost out of icons on [livejournal.com profile] fh_extras). In the main fighting post, there will always be someone looking out for new people wanting a fight, but it may take time so please be patient. Also, if you do not want dinosaurs to appear in your other posts around town (including business posts), please specifically say so in an OOC note down the bottom or everywhere (excluding Caritas, the clinic and the dorms) is free game for chaos provided there is a post up!

* On a similar note, as with any combat-type thread, don't mod your opponent (dino) or their reaction. And please, we are limited in numbers, so make the most of the fight scenes you get.

* If you want a serious injury (that is anything from deep cuts to concussion to very nearly losing a limb to stuff that will require surgery) please use the thread below to state your intentions. This will assist the clinic staff. Also a brief OOC note in your combat thread will remind the NPC dinosaur player to help you out. If you don't state your serious injury here, you're not getting it. No "surprise amputation!" please.

Does your character have medical training? Do they have magical healing abilities? Then the clinic needs you!

We currently have three shifts open: Monday evening, Wednesday evening, Friday evening. Sunday evening will possibly open up at the end of the summer. We can do rearranging of the shifts as well if a different time would be better for you.

If you think your character would be interested in taking a shift or two or three, drop me a line at doctor.c.troy (at) gmail (dot) com or leave Christian a voice mail. You (the character) do need to have some medical/magical training, enough to handle random cases of cuts and bruises and sprained ankles that come in. Student aides would be expected to page one of the actual doctors (Christian, Doogie, Wilson) if something serious came in (which we have advance notice on, so we'll make sure someone is available).

Or, you know, you can app a new townie doctor character. :)

OOC: The clinic

Just a reminder -- if you're going to have a big group or intensive doctor-assisted RP in the clinic, please give me, as head of the clinic, a heads up, as well as anybody whose shifts you'll be impacting. We had a minor retcon issue last night wherein people checked into a morning clinic post (where the clinic person had been warned) at nearly midnight, resulting in the evening doctor (who knew nothing about this) having to edit his post to deal with the mysteriously appearing patients. I know weird timing things happen but if Wilson and I had been alerted earlier we could've prevented the retcon (as well as trying to make sure that someone was keeping an eye on the post if the person whose shift it is has to leave the computer). Thanks!

Because all the cool kids are OOCing for the newbies these days 8)

There is an NPC school nurse who staffs the school infirmary during normal school hours. Your character can feel free to handwavily visit her for basic medical needs (bandages, aspirin, condoms... ;) )

Fandom Town Emergency Clinic, or NAMBLA FTEC is where all townies go, as well as characters with major medical needs and/or the desire to RP out medical care. It's staffed by doctors, students with some sort of healing/medical experience, Tommy Gavin who has first-response training, and an NPC nurse who helps cover all the gaps.

The NPC nurse is always on duty regardless of whether or not the clinic post mentions it. Townies or anyone else who want to handwave medical care are free to use her without asking permission. Medical care that is RPed is covered by two shifts, day and night, and the schedule is always updated at [livejournal.com profile] fandom_clinic's userinfo so you know who's on staff. In RP time a general rule of thumb is that if it's before 6pm Fandom Time your character uses the day shift, if it's after 6pm Fandom time they should go to the night.

If you know in advance that a huge medical problem is coming up (this would include long-term overnight stays and RP events that will result in multiple characters showing up at the clinic at once) please please PLEASE contact either me or the person on staff that shift to give them advance warning. That way we can schedule extra hands to help, make sure the clinic's got the supplies you need, etc.

Finally, if any of the new characters would like to work clinic shifts you can let me know in the comments and we can make arrangements for Tommy to interview you. No guarantees on getting a job until we know what your character can bring to the party, but can't hurt to try =)

Scheduling: therapy

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com
Here's Susan's availability in the next two weeks:

2 slots open on Friday (can SP through the weekend)
2 slots open on Tuesday
2 slots open on next Friday (to start late, and be SP through the weekend)

If want/need your character to get an appointment before May 1, please sign up below, and I'll work it as first-come first-served. Previous clients and emergencies get preference over that, of course. I wish my availability were more, but I'm working five days next week, and the projects still need to be done.

Comments are screened in case you want your stuff to be non-spoilered. Give me an email and we can coordinate through that, if you need to.
[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com
Note to all Clinic Staff:

OOC organization, scheduling, charting, Clinic rules, etc. are all being done in [livejournal.com profile] fandom_clinic under flocked posts. That means if you are not logged in under the right ID you are going to miss out on things you need to know.

I am more than happy to give membership access to all the character IDs of clinic staff so that they can see the flocked posts no matter who they're logged in as. By all means let me know in the comments who needs to be added.

This will be your last notice about this. After this if I see people who have clearly not read the org posts that they need to I'm going to handle it by mocking you savagely until you cry like a little girl and/or fix whatever it is you screwed up.

A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend. 8)

FTEC schedule

[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com
As a heads-up, FTEC now has a schedule of who will be opening when. This is a tentative schedule that will be adjusted as new aides come in.

But for right now, it's this )

I'll update [livejournal.com profile] fandom_clinic's userinfo with the changes as they get made. So if you ever need to know who should be opening FTEC when, check there.

Clinic updates

We're still ironing out the kinks, but as of right now here's the status on the two clinics:

Cut to spare your flist but everyone PLEASE READ )
[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com
As you have been able to see IG, there are some changes coming for the clinics in Fandom. The school clinic will be disappearing and will merge completely with Town Clinic, forming one big clinic for the entire island under the control of Tommy. God help you all.

For your daily headaches and papercuts in school, there will remain an infirmary in the school to serve your needs. All other more serious and urgent matters will have to be taken to the Town Clinic.

The workings of both the Town Clinic and the infirmary will be explained further as soon as we iron out the kinks and get things up and running.
[identity profile] sexydoctor.livejournal.com
Just a note in case anyone was confused -- the clinic post was deleted per request of the admins. The status of the clinic isn't finalized yet.
[identity profile] overlord-zordon.livejournal.com
With the impending departure of our town and school clinic doctors, we're now taking applications for replacement clinic staff.

A note about how this will work: in order to encourage townie/student interaction, the town clinic will be re-merged into the school clinic and open to the entire town. [This part on hold due to information we just received, until a few things get cleared up.] Also in order to help encourage interaction, we will be taking 4 or 5 new clinic physicians, one of whom will be designated head physician and therefore in charge of organizing a schedule and rotation for staff. This does not apply to those students who are currently working at the clinic, or the town clinic staff. None of you are fired, though some of you might have a slightly longer commute to work now. *g* We've already received two applications for clinic staff, and those will be included for consideration.

Applications will be open through next Sunday, February 4. New players are highly encouraged to apply.

Application Behind the Cut! )

All applications should be sent to administration @ fandomhigh . net (sans spaces, of course).

Questions or concerns can be left in the comments or sent to the above address, or feel free to contact one of us on AIM as well.
[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com
Hey guys. Susan's schedule is starting to fill up; she's got two regular patients now. I figure that I can handle maybe eight to ten total, if it's not for a short-term thing. (For short-term stuff, I can probably handle four people, if they only want a couple weeks of talking.) She'll always be available for one-day crises, or an emergency talking-down or student Finals freak-out.

But if you want to have a ongoing therapy storyline with her participation, please contact her helpline and tell me when you want to start, so I can work out the RL and RP scheduling for it. Real therapists are not constrained by having school and time commitments, so I have to limit the patients she'll take.

Susan's appointment line: here.

Susan's personal line, in case you want to discuss plot stuff in a screened area, before you come in to RP it in the clinic: here.

That said, is there any interest in Group? For people who are having particular issues, such as Time Displacement, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Susan *could* moderate maybe one or two groups, although I'd cut down on her practice if she was going to host that. This could either be wacky or dramatic, depending on who would sign up.

ETA: And in case you didn't guess-- students get priority. I know some of you are joking in the threads below, but I thought I ought to clear that up. No other teacher types accepted until all students are helped and scheduled.

Quick OOC brush up for folks old and new to clarify the state of the Clinics!

House and Wilson separated as lovers. Wilson is now living in Fandom Town in the loft above the Fandom Town Emergency Clinic (FTEC), which he has opened with the support of Mayor Red.

The Fandom Town Clinic was a plot in the works for a few months since townies can’t avail themselves of the School Clinic and now it’s dovetailed nicely into this whole storyline but to give you the low down on what you as players need to know.

Wilson is still partners with House at the school clinic. House is also Wilson’s partner at the FTEC. They share equal say in both operations. They are still friends and colleagues, much more back along the lines of canon.

Wilson will be splitting time between the school and town. Probably many of his mornings will be up at the school with afternoons down in town. Both clinics will stock his phone number and his pager…

Wilson’s contact numbers

[Wilson’s Voicemail]

[Wilson’s On Call Emergency Pages]

And both clinics will have House’s numbers as well.

House’s contact numbers

[House VoiceMail]

As always if you have a specific or immediate need for the doctors for a plot reason, I can be reached at Seregill @ Aol . Com and House!Mun can be reached at celticfaerie2x @ gmail . com.

We’re both EST time zones with more detailed OOC schedules up on our info pages at [livejournal.com profile] tooniceuglyties and [livejournal.com profile] gotcanewillpoke.

[livejournal.com profile] fhclinic_charts - a confidentail patient chart and information community. Strictly OOC/player knowledge (unless you are clinic staff, school admin, or otherwise have IC knowledge of whatever may be documented in ths community) No one can take information from this comm IC unless they have access to the information by some other means I can't stress this enough.

The purpose of this community is to post patient information in one place. Easily Accessible for those who would need to ... easily access. PLease do not abuse this. For now, the comm is locked to clinic staff and school admin. (There is a list below of all who were sent invites)

There is more detailed information in the community info. Or you can comment here.

All clinic staff *must* join in order to have posting access, and posting access is necessary for all clinic staff...so you can post patient information. Patient charting is mandatory for clinic assistants beginning Saturday, october 22, 2005!!!!!!

Please check your invites if your name is on this list:

Good evening,

I just wanted to put up a couple of links notifying of some small changes to the [livejournal.com profile] fandom_clinic community.

It is the hope of [livejournal.com profile] gotcanewillpoke and myself that these changes will help keep posts and timelines from becoming too confusing and frustrating for both our Staff and our Patients.

House’s mun speaks

Wilson’s mun speaks

Any questions, please direct them to either House’s mun or myself.

Thank you.
