NEXT WEEK: Blizzard, Sex Pollen

Heya, guys! We interrupt your previously scheduled handwavey goodness to announce that next Thursday and Friday (Feb. 12th-13th), a blizzard's coming to town!

And not a glizzard, this time.

Because of the sudden turn in weather, the power will be knocked out (oops). To make up for it, the island will provide little fireplaces in people's rooms, houses and the common rooms, where it feels it is needed. Unfortunately for all, by Friday it'll start to overcompensate by releasing sex pollen to try and make everyone happier. Err.

The pollen amps up people's hormones to the nth degree and incites the desire for sexytimes, unless their physiology prevents it/people from their universe don't get affected by it/that yogurt you ate last week left you resistant/whatever reason you need if you'd rather opt out of the whole thing. It will dissipate on Friday 20th!

Heads-Up: Planned LJ Maintenance Tonight

It's a good thing I actually read my RL flist, as I was alerted to this. LJ is scheduled to be down for maintenance between 10PM and midnight PST tonight. [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance has this to say:

In an effort to reduce the instance of database errors on the site, on Friday March 10th we will be taking a 2 hour maintenance window starting at 10pm PST (GMT -8). During this window we will be upgrading some components of our database architecture, and whole or parts of the site may be unavailable to you. Though the intent is to keep the total downtime as minimal as possible (under 20 minutes), we reserve the entire window to work on any unexpected kinks. We'll be posting ahead of time and following to update you on our progress.

So, just a heads-up so none of you are as traumatized as we were the last time LJ got brokenated.

But so help me, if LJlogin gets brokenated by the upgrades again, I'm gonna . . .
