Hi.

As you may have noticed, the SP on the play has been going on for a long time. What seems like a very long time.

We are sticking a fork in it and declaring it done.

If you have a line or a bit of business you really want to get in before the curtain falls, great: Post away with that. Otherwise, consider the rest of the play handwaved away.

Rory and I would like to thank Parker, for shepherding the possessions; Hamlet, Blair, Logan, MacBeth, Pip, Krycek, Xander, Pippi, Nadia, Callisto, Lee, Zero, Molly, Lana and Allie for doing such a FANTASTIC job with their fairies; Alanna and Quinn, for being the sane people in a world gone mad; MacGyver and his students, for the sets; Autolycus and his students, for the backdrops; Sam, Bridge and Mac, for their great lighting work in a crisis; and Jake and John Crichton, for jumping in at the last minute to sell tickets.

And of course Principal Finn, for obvious reasons.

Townies will be allowed on campus to attend the play. They are restricted to the auditorium, however. Sorry for the late notice and no fancy posters.

In light of the fact that Fandom is enjoying a "day off", and Dewey would in no way, shape, or form show up on a day he doesn't have to, casting will be posted IG tommorow.

This also gives me time to finalize the "understudy" statuses, yay.

Behind the cut, as I'm nice and don't muddle your f-lists, you'll find the current list of casting plans for Fandom High's A Midsummer Night's Dream. I'm giving you a heads-up so you know what your character is in for.

Yes, the list at the bottom is characters not actually in Shakespeare's script. Don't ask me how we'll incorporate them. But the poor three suckers in charge of the play now will, somehow. At this point, if you meant for your character to be involved acting wise, and you missed the audition-y chance of today, Comment here up until, say, 8 am CST Monday. You'll get your very own invented role of my choosing.
And in the role of... )

The cast list will be posted ICly on Monday. Huzzah.
EDIT: Oh, and Here is a full-text link of the play, just to be extra nice and helpful.

I'm gonna close the auditioning thread at midnight CST. You all had plenty of warning about today bein' audition day.

That also goes for anyone wanting to be forcibly auditioned via Barbossa's Audition Tapes. Volunteer within the next 3 hours.

Casting will be announced OOC-ly shortly after CST Midnight tonight.
ICly, it'll be posted on Monday. Huzzah.

But they aren't the "auditioning" type? Or even the "wanting to be involved" type?

Not a problem. Barbossa would be more than happy to come up with audition-type material based on his access to the same embarrassing material that ends up on the radio, and get your character involved.

Your character can feel free to hate the pirate all he or she wants while you, the mun, can cackle in evil delight from safely behind the keyboard.

Just sign up here and the pirate will cheerfully add to the list of suckers eager thespians.

So, yes. Because YOU wanted it!

Please, if you talk about Shakespeare in relation to the play, remember to not refer to Hamlet or MacBeth as fictional works.

But anyways, back to the matter at hand. I need volunteers. Those suckers two lucky people who got roped into student directoring will be involved with being in charge of the IC directoring type stuff, and such.

However, I need faculty volunteers for the various other duties, such as set building, other tech work, student wrangling, etcetera. Dream has already volunteered, but the more the merrier, I say.

As for students and casting, there obviously will be the auditions this weekend, but I'd like anyone who wants their character roped into being involved, here is where to sign up, as well.

The basic idea for me is to be as uninvolved as possible, other than casting. You people will bring the magic and the crazy and the funny. I merely give you the canvas with which to work.

EDIT: Oh, the current plan is for the show to occur on March 18th, huzzah!

In regards to the student production. Having realized the key to a fun show is letting -others- do the crackiness, and now me enforcing some sort of cracked out script that I have no time to write, I'm changing the show to be produced.

I have an idea. If Lee, Archie, Cameron, and Crichton are willing to be star material, of course. Are you guys?

If not, I have another idea. But I like my first new idea better.
