In jail today...
Hey... Since I'm going to be in jail for a bit... (Until Principal Connor breaks me out apparently)
I'm taking a break from posting today.
Hey
call_me_red_ac, if there's anything you want to try and do with our budding relationship/tragedy feel free to post here so we can work out any details. I feel like my little escapades are pulling away from your glorious portrayal of character.
Anyone who doesn't want spoilers... turn your eyes.

Last night I was thinking about asking Angelus to vamp her, for real. But that seems a tad extreme.
One thing I was thinking of is this: It's canon that Angela's parents' marriage isn't in great shape, and I've been using that. If they announce that they plan to divorce, I can see Angela kind of melting down, and if Marty is around when that happens ... you see where I'm going?
We might need to do this in slo-mo, though. Let it be awkward and weird until suspicion is off Marty in the missing students case. Unless he is guilty?

I like the idea of Angela having a meltdown about her parents and Marty being around to help out in his own weird and awkward way.
Yeah... Marty is bad news, but I'd like his character to reform somehow... something I've been working on in a separate plot with
I'm all for the slo-mo.

(Though I'm not sure there's anyone I *do* want to have be guilty, come to that.)
Let's go for weird and awkward until the time seems right for her big meltdown. Homecoming weekend might be fun.
Also, when exactly are you playing Marty? You seem to be doing an AU with him as a young assassin -- is that right? Is he old enough that it's going to add another complication, legally speaking? (Angela is 16.)

Disclaimer: Spoilers for Grosse Pointe Blank. One scene was directly stolen from an earlier draft of the Grosse Pointe Blank script.
Marty stumbled back to his room in a daze. Exhausted.
He flung himself on the bed and closed his eyes, but the images from his literal nightmare of a detention kept coming back to him.
It had started off with Marty playing golf by himself on a beautiful green course. Instead of selecting a club he pulled out a high powered sniper rifle. He turned and aimed the scope at a golfer who was just about to tee off at the hole ahead of him. Just as the golfer finished his swing, Marty pulled the trigger.
The golfer's head exploded like a red melon, spraying everywhere. Marty watched ball fly through the bright blue sky until it landed.
"Hooked it" He muttered.
"Marty."
Marty turned to see Debbi Newberry standing on the greens wearing a Prom dress.
Marty closed his eyes and shook his head. When he opened them he was in the gymnasium of Grosse Pointe High. call_me_red_ac was standing in front of him wearing the same dress Debbi was.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?"
Now Debbi was looking at Marty, shaking her head at him. She turned away from him.
"Debbi, I-"
Marty was interrupted by familiar voice singing a song
"I'll be coming around the mountain when I come."
Marty turned to the new voice but couldn't place the location.
Grocer.
"I'll be coming around the mountain when I come."
Not now.
Marty grabbed Angela by her shoulders.
"You got to get out of here now."
Angela gave him a sad smile.
"It's too late now."
Grocer's insane singing voice was getting closer.
"I'll be blowin' her fuckin' head off
I'll be blowin' your fuckin' head off
I'll be whackin your fuckin' mind out when I come"
Grocer was behind Angela/Debbi now with a gun to her head.
"Hey Marty! What you doing here? This isn't business."
"Grocer..."
"Hey Marty!"
Grocer pushed the gun barrel hard against Angela's head.
"Popcorn."
Grocer pulled the trigger.
Marty jumped out of bed, breathing hard. He looked around at the room and saw the file he got the night before.
Sitting open on his desk.
He walked over to it and picked it up, only to have it dissolve into blood all over his hands.
*****
Marty woke up again. For real this time.
He was in his room.
Sleep was going to be a problem.

My goal is to actually get some sleep tonight, so staying up until midnight is probably bad. So yeah, if you feel the urge, start a thread and I'll post when I can.

Just out of curiousity, is Angela going to go directly to a teacher after he tells her or is she going to angst on it? Or is she even going to believe him?
Or should I be dropping the bomb right now?
no subject
And then -- well, I thought you were going to drop the bomb today, but it's your call how Marty answers that question. She will believe him if he tells her, because it makes sense with everything else she's picked up.
If you don't tell her now, she's going to go to Dream right away, because she figures that he screwed you up and he can fix you. If you do tell her, she's going to go to the all-girls slumber party and get very very drunk.

Hey, so you know -- I'm asking River what she told you Monday. Hopefully she'll stop short of the assassin bit. (Did she know that, or just about Debi? Am too lazy to refnd thread.)

Could be fun to teach you to shoot. You could be worried about being in the record shop alone. We'll go to the gun range. You shoot the gun. Drop it in suprise. It goes off again and Marty ends up in the clinic with a bullet in his rear and can't sit down for a week.

Future plotlines
1. I'm going to save Angela's parents' divorce for parents' weekend or later. If Homecoming is as crazy as this weekend, it would get lost in the shuffle, and I want for her to be able to experience it as a major event.
2. Other than that, I'm not sure where I want to go. Angela is being more resilient about Marty's past than I thought she would be -- next to zombies and gremlins, your boyfriend being a hit man almost doesn't register. She still finds it deeply morally troubling, but I don't think he needs to save her life to redeem himself. (Besides, he already helped do that by teaching her to shoot.)
I am okay with leaving their relationship as almost a background constant until you do whatever you're going to do with the Grocer/Marcella/the hit. Angela did talk to Ms. Sidle, and she probably will encourage you to go to the principal based on that chat, but it's not a conversation she's all that anxious to have.
... Yeah, I think that's about everything from my end. What are you thinking?
Re: Future plotlines
I have to agree that next to fighting zombies, having a hitman for a boyfriend is relatively normal.
As for Grocer and Marcella and the hit, that may be hard to do now that Spider has locked all new users for Fandomtownies until further notice. At this point since I have a plot point with no further plot (re: the hit) I'm thinking of just handing off the dossier to Grissom and letting the Mods deal with me as they see fit. I'll send another e-mail to Connor to see if she's still interested in tying in her attack escapade last week to my hit contract, but if I don't get a response I'm just going to drop it.
Angelus wants Marty to join the Junior Achievers group which could be a source of tension in the relationship. Marty may join just to keep tabs on Angelus, but Angela may have her own thoughts on that.
I look forward to the argument Marty and Angela will have once he finds out that she went to Sidle.
Regarding homecoming... Since I can't really post until late into the evening, do you want to start a post early in the day with Rory and Logan? We're supposed to go to "The Old Firm" for dinner, which may either lead to all of us dying or being highly amused.

Re: Angelus Thread
As I've said elsewhere, I'm *hugely* open as far as psycho-lad getting a soul or not. I can have just as much fun playing Angel as I do Angelus, so for the most part I leave it up to other characters/players to decide if this is something that should happen to him.
That being said, Marty yet again trying to blackmail/get one up on Angelus *could* be something which sparks Angelus to get cranky. And, if so, he *could* respond to that by pointing out Marty's not as in a good a position as he thinks he is. Specifically, Marty now has a girlfriend, or at the very least somebody he cares about.
So Angelus *could* threaten Angela, either by pointing this out to Marty or, more likely, by doing it to Angela directly (with Marty there or not).
In which case that would then provide an in-character reason for Angela to want to research how to put the soul back into Angelus. Combine that with Marty's research skills, add in a magic using student, run it by the mods to make sure all the i's have been dotted and t's have been crossed, and bingo, one souled vamp.
Just a thought. There's a ton of other things he could do that I could make in-character and nowhere near this area, so if there's no interest in this then we don't have to do it. But since Angela's player mentioned researching the soul, I figured I'd offer this as an option. =)
