Addams Family Halloween Ball Information Post.

A few things before we open the Ball to players.

First, this is a costume ball. If your icon useage doesn't reflect that, you're unlikely to be considered for the costume contest.

There will be seven posts that make up the Ball and all will be linked in a single post to Fandom Townies, but the Ball itself takes place in the efferton_manor journal as it is a whole-island event.

These posts are relatively image-heavy, but in deference to those of you with dial-up, links are provided instead of images in all but one or two places.

As there are multiple people using the journal in order to handle proper haunting, we are going to ask that all Out Of Character chatter take place in the seventh post, which will be created specifically to handle it. The ghosts are going to have a difficult enough time finding and keeping track of their victims in the threads so we’re going to ask that you don’t put OOC comments in the posts for the Ball itself. You can always add links back to what you’re commenting on.

Please keep in mind that the Manor is haunted, and if you leave the rooms marked off for the Ball and for guests, you are effectively giving us your permission to haunt you. If you leave the main areas, you may or may not be haunted – at our discretion.

Costume Competition

There is a comment thread for the Judges, and they can chitchat there, make costume notes, etc there.

There will be five categories – Grand Prize, First Runner Up, Second Runner Up, Third Runner Up, Honorable Mention and Hostess’ Prize.

Judges may each choose five of their favorite costumes and discuss. A poll will be set up once they agree on five, or before if a consensus cannot be reached.

About the posts and the Ball

The first post will be the Guest Book.

In this post, please sign in if you are planning to attend the ball. If you would like to help the ghosts and other guests to find you, to aid the radio and the gossip columnists and other players to track where you are and what you are doing, feel free to come back and reply to your sign-in comment with links (marked NFB or not).

PLEASE NOTE: Your presence at the Ball, your escort and your basic movements cannot be labeled NFB. This is a huge, public event and people will know where you were and who you were with – at least in the public areas.

Also note that one or two of the ghosts are capable of temporary possession. If you’d like to be possessed, or at least have no objection to it, please place a ‘P’ by your name in the guestbook.

The second post will be the Ball.

This post will contain the public areas in which it is safe to wander, and the rest of the third floor of the Manor. Non-haunted areas (although you might see some odd things there) are the Entrance Hall, the Ballroom, the Dining Room, the Kitchen, the Antechamber, the Lounge and the restrooms.

Once you leave those areas, you are fair game.

The third post will be the Second Floor.

The fourth post will be the Cellar.

The fifth post will be the Attic.

The sixth post will be the Grounds.
