The Death of Kitty Pryde

Wow. We did not expect this plot to get so big and so tragic. (Dude, we made the Tick sad! *guilty look*) Which, in hindsight is a big "duh" moment, but that's hindsight, so there you go.

I know people are upset. Please, please don't get mad at the admins! It's not their concept; it's not their execution. Blame me, Marty, Angelus, Rory or Angela. We're the main plotters here. There are several other characters who were involved, but they joined in at our request and didn't have a say in the overall plot.

There are a couple of investigations happening IC. If you want your character to investigate, contact myself or Marty and we'll work you into the plot. Please be aware that the Dean has forbidden students and teachers from being involved, so there WILL be IC consequences for characters who get involved.

If your character wants to get involved, but the player doesn't - the Fandom Police Department is investigating the case, and (as far as the public knows) they are professional and competent. They'll handle it.

The killer will be dealt before December 1st. (The timeline is unfortunately restricted by player availability.)

Thanks for posting this. I just wanted to reiterate that, really, we were NOT trying to hurt anyone or make the game unfun. We wanted to up the angst for our characters and have a cool shiny long-form plot to play with, and we (or I, at least) kind of forgot that other people would care. It was naive, not malicious.

If it helps? I'm having as hard a time figuring out what to do with Angela and Dream right now as most of the rest of you are with your characters -- and I had advance warning.

Also, Dean Bristow and the other admins deserve all the gratitude in the world for their part in this.

Er, am I the only person not having a good time with this plot? I mean, I just get Rogue to a place where she's gonna be giddy-happy for a week or so, and now she's gone all emo on me. I can't even ignore the plot, since Kitty's her roommate. I'm seriously considering sending her back to the mansion for a few days until this whole thing dies down a litte, keep her from getting even more emo.

I'm not mad at the players; I understand that everyone deserves their fun in this game. It's just that having a depressed, emo character isn't fun for me. I did that already, didn't like it, got over it.

Totally understood. I'm throwing together a memorial IG for characters who didn't want to be involved, but are forced to be emo over it - would that help? I'm trying to realistically give an element of closure to the whole thing, so that the school will be justified in returning to normalcy (emotionally) by Monday.

Honestly? I don't think that will help Rogue much. I'm sending her home to the mansion for a few days; I have IRL obligations anyway, so hopefully I can pull her together after that.

I know - we're realizing the consequences of not warning people like Phoebe and Rogue ahead of time, and like Angela said - it was naivete, not malice.

If there's anything I can do, either IG or OOC, let me know. Rory's always available to talk to, and she was one of the last ones to see Kitty. If you can think of any way I can help Rogue move on, I'm up for it. :)
