Kitty's Memorial

So, here's the deal on the memorial:

I'm going to post it around 5:30 - 6:00 EST, and it'll run "until curfew." But, hey, chronofluidity yay!

Also? I'm thinking this is all going to be held in Serenity Cove, unless someone has an objection.

There will be a thread for each of the speakers to do his or her thing, and for the audience/nonspeakers/whatever to respond. (I have no idea what the proper terminology is here.)

At the moment, the people I have down to speak are: the Tick, MacGyver, Phoebe, Rory, Angelus, the Dean (that was never confirmed, but I figured you might want to say something), and Lockheed via Dream (again, unconfirmed). If you want your character to speak (or I missed you), please let me know.

Alternately, there will be a thread set up for your character to say his or her goodbyes in whatever way you think is appropriate. There will be materials available to write a letter if you want, which you can toss in the fire.

For the sake of the game, please assume the fire is lit early on, though I don't know when Lockheed will actually do it.

Phoebe will be casting a spell to keep the fire a permanent fixture on the beach - it'll be contained and basically just a sort of memorial thing, in lieu of planting a tree or constructing a fountain or some such.

Also, credit for the bonfire/pyre idea goes to swerval_zero, and the 'eternal flame' (please, please, don't sing it) idea is oatmanspatient's.

Oh, and a final note: If you don't think your character can behave themselves, please don't come. Seriously. We're hoping to provide an element of closure here, and if your character is going to show up drunk or get into a fight or throw themselves on the fire in histrionics, it's really just better that you don't come.

Awesome. I'm not familiar with Charmed, so I wasn't sure what powers Phoebe has other than being an empath/telepath. I'll edit the post to reflect that.

Okay, just got a head's up from the admins that the eternal flame...can't be 'eternal,' per se. Is there any way Pheebs can reverse the spell so that it goes out sometime very soon?

As far as I know, yes. It won't be very big, and it'll be safely contained, etc. Unless someone has an issue with it, anyway. Cal's going to visit the Kitty Pryde Memorial Flame? People will think she's grieving or sad or, y'know...cares.

Will someone be notifying Red about the eternal flame so he's kept in the loop? Otherwise, he'll be spending a great deal of time trying to figure out how to put the fire out.

Scratch that, just talked to the Dean. Sorry for not running this by you first. Going to contact Pheebs and see if she can reverse the spell so that it goes out like...tomorrow.
