fringe townies
This is a call-out to the people who play a single character where that character is a townie and who doesn't teach up at the school or get much interaction in town.
The mun is looking for ways to better involve the 'fringe elements' of the townies in stuff around town: ie. those characters who have no real chance to speak/interact with the student body, who may not be the most sociable of folk (IC or OOC), or who are limited by lack of internet time.
Inara can't be the only character from her fandom, who doesn't teach, is an only-character for their mun, and has reasonable difficulty socialising due to lack of unusual skills, opportunity, or character flamboyance. Her mun figures there's gotta be a few characters out there looking for people/opportunities/plotlines to involve themselves in.
Besides, she's a sucker for organising things. Especially plotty things.
So, are any of the townie characters, new or otherwise, who don't have too much interaction and aren't getting much play elsewhere interested in bouncing around a few ideas for plot, interaction and action and getting something moving? Comment to this post and the mun will send around a group email later on in the week for people to discuss stuff.

I'm not sure I explained it so well, but the main reason for putting specifications on the characters involved was so that we don't get another situation/scenario dominated by the more active/interactive townies - give the quieter townies a chance to play without being automatically sidelined since they don't usually know people.

I'll drop you an email!

Aayla doesn't seem to have the need to visit popular "hang out" spots (other than Aziraphale's, but then she's just with a one-on-one chat with the angel).
Did enjoy doing tai chi with Serra though
(even if it got her called "boring" on the radio for the 2nd time in a row).Let me know what you have in mind, if it's not too terrible that I have 2 characters.

But if you as a mun aren't getting much gameplay, then, sure!
Hey, Inara's pretty 'boring' too: she's either flat on her back in an NFB situation, or chatting with people in the park. No magic, no snark, no sudden manifestations of evil upon her...
"Life upon the wicked stage ain't nothing for a girl!"

(Totally off-center but if I can get my stuff organized I should draw Inara into the plot I'm working up to.)

The reason I put the 'limits' on the characters to be involved was largely to give the characters with NO plots a chance to get involved in something, rather than add another plot to an already busy character.
And I completely missed the post about the book club...
my (all too real) workplace right now is a nightmare and hosting events is more than I want to contemplate these days.
Right now, I know how that goes!
(And Inara would love to participate in plotness.)

I'm guessing we're not going to bother with the PC-ness of 'non-denominational celebrations for the year end'? (Personally, I think you should call it what you want to, just don't preach it if they're not interested.)

Also.. Aaron and Sonia were brainstorming icly about offering walk-back services for students who work in town and would be walking home after dark. Not because it's needed, although that's the IC excuse, but to give townies more chance to interact with the kids.
There's really not enough crossover, and Townies kind of get treated like hyped up NPC's - which they aren't. More social activities is a good thing.

I understand that there are several townspeople who own houses that might be opened up for more general use? We can't all live in flats over shops or brothels...

I was going to mail Red about it, but I understand the mun's gone on hols for a week.

Although I don't yet play a character in Fandom Town, I'm hoping to once registration begins. I've created

While we'd love to have you, I think that I should wait for the okay from Red (town mayor) before including Paul in any concrete plans. I will, however, keep your details around and if you're accepted as a Fandom Townie then we'll definitely work out something for Paul to do.

And I never would have thought of a Companion, one who is trained in all of the arts of seduction, conversation, and (fencing, flying) godess knows what else to be boring.

The other thing about being 'willing to put yourself forward' is that the reasons some townies get overlooked is probably because they are not naturally gregarious, either IC or OOC.
So it's all very well to tell people 'put yourself out there' - which I understand Red has been trying to say for months - but quite another to achieve it. And there's nothing more depressing than making a 'come play with me post'...and have nobody come play.

There was also the idea of creating a Fandom Idol... and having it simul-cast on the Pirate Radio at the school. I'm still interested in that if anyone's up for it....

I just don't know if there's enough townies for it.
We're currently mailing around - I'll include you on the next reply - do you have your email addy on your userinfo page?

If there aren't enough townies, we can always start preparations, and maybe by the time we're ready, there will be.
I wanted to bring in Aphrodite as a judge for Fandom Idol... *g*
