Entry tags:

Tagging is brokenated

For some reason, LJ won't let me set tags on entries in Fandomhigh. It sends up an error message when I do, and any tags I put in do not show.

I use tags to keep track of Dream's classes, so I really need to be able to do this. Does anyone have an idea what's up? Thanks.

Angela also can't add tags to entries in Fandom High.

I have no clue what the problem might be, but I successfully tagged the library and Creature Language class.

I didn't see an appropriate tag for Classics, though. Let me know what it should be taged as and I'll add it.

Thank you, thouggh this is still weird.

I just tag all his classes with the languages tag. It's the fastest way for me to sort and find stuff. (I don't like LJ's memories feature, so I abuse tagging.)

Okay. *runs off to tag Classics*

And I'm with you on tag abuse. Vastly superior to Memories in almost every way.

Something got tweaked somewhere, and we haven't figured out what it is yet. Hopefully LJ is not too brokenated (I'm stealing that word). For the time being, just let us know what needs to be tagged in the main FH comm?

I can do that. Thanks for letting me know what's up.

It may be set so that only maintainers can tag? That would explain why you and the Tick can, but Dream can't. You need to enter

tag_permissions for communityname public friends

at the admin console, I think.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny. I'll go try that in a second. *loves*

When the teachers were removed as maintainers from the main community, they lost the ability to set new tags.

To allow all community members to set new tags, that needs to be set by an admin through the admin console.

Go here (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=229)

Depending on what you want to do. I brought that point up with the old admins, but I doubt any of you would have been aware unless you have LJ comm admin experience :) (Because on other comms, I do not let bitches set their own tags, yo, but the average user here can spell and only teachers really post to the comm anyway. However, if you keep tags purely in admin hands for set-up, you're going to want to set up a point person and maybe a 'voicemail' where teachers can request new tags, and then link it on the lounge/school page)

This message brought to you by the letters... :)

See, the crazy thing is I wasn't trying for new tags -- just putting the same "languages" and "library" tags on my posts that I've been using for eons. But I do think the problem is something like that -- a permission that is mis-set.

Thanks anyhow.

Yeah, I could tag entries last week (though Chloe had to set the tags first), but then today I couldn't at all.
