Clubs post time!

So it's that time of year again. Students have been required to either have a job or an extracurricular, and the same goes for this semester.

If you have an idea for a club, E-mail this little form off to fates_jaye@livejournal.com and it'll get added to the signup list. Remember that this is a high school, and if your club is somehow inappropriate for that setting, it may not be included. Also, if you don't know the date and time of your meeting, mark it TBA and I'll throw it in an open spot in the club schedule. All clubs need to be registered by Sunday, February 4, even if they were around last semester.

Club Name:
Description:
Club head(s) (must be a student(s)):

Date/time/location of meeting:

Science Club
Basketball team
Computer Club
Improv Club/Drama Club
Deep Thoughts Club
Flight Club

And we have P.R.A.T.S. - Proud Republican and Tory Students
OOC explanation: in 2005 we had a club called the Junior Achievers who were essentially a bunch of bad guy and morally gray characters who banded together to do things for the community. In reality, it was Angelus keeping his friends close and his enemies closer. In the spirit of that group, which was so much fun, PRATS will be led by Hades and will essentially be (to use a Harry Potter reference) the Slytherin of Fandom High. They'll put on a good show, but Hades will definitely be cultivating a small army over the next year or two or three. Your character doesn't have to be evil or a bad guy to join. If you want your character tempted by peer pressure and power, this is the place to be. If you want to play hero and rat us out, please don't join. It's all a bit of fun, and they won't be doing or saying anything that's omgbad. They simply have a different moral compass, that's all.

IC explanation: A select society run by Vice Principal Hades that encourages team work and excellence in all areas of school life, as well as promoting leadership skills and giving back to the community.

There will be a club fair on Monday, February 5 in a post that will go up the night before, and you'll be able to sign up for things then. Participation in clubs can be handwavey. You're asked to do no more than you do for class, which is just to sign in. Note: Being a library aide, TA or on a sports team does count as extracurricular.

As a reminder, all clubs should be posted in [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh, and not the dorms comm.

Please do not sign up to run a club you have no intention of keeping up with it. If you want to try meeting every two weeks so you don't run out of ideas, that's fine. I highly recommend either getting another student to run it with you, or contacting your faculty advisor to put up the post if you can't/don't have something to do for it.

questions

can a new student run these? how does one get a faculty adviser? Ami would love to run the Chess club but i the player have no idea how to go about getting that set up?

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I would love to have Tori run a surfing club or a self defense club. How would she go about getting a faculty advisor? Or do I just OOC contact a mun for that?

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, great.

Thank you so much for the help!! :)

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna will not be running a self-defense club both for IC reasons and OOC reasons that can be summarized by the fact that her mun is talking about herself in the third person. John Winchester was the sponsor in the previous semester.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, I didn't even notice that came out of the wrong account....

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay and thank you for letting me know! :)

I'm assuming it would be okay if Tori were to maybe take over that club? I'm still debating whether she should do that one or a surfing club...

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm totally fine with that.

Daisy could advise on a Film club (meeting once a week to watch a meta-ed movie, then talk about it), if any student would want to run it.

[identity profile] cheerfulgoth.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Abby would be willing to advise a club. It'd have to be something that she'd be interested in/know about but if you've got an idea run it past me and we'll see if it fits!

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Abby wouldn't be interested in possibly being an advisor to a surfing club, would she?

*hopeful grin*

[identity profile] cheerfulgoth.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Um...not so much. Mostly because she's a typical pale goth chick who avoids the sun and is usually seen with a black lace umbrella when outside.

But I totally think that a surfing club needs a male teacher because there needs to be more shirtlessness among the faculty.

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Darn.

Oh, well. Thanks, though.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, hrm, a male advisor sounds like a good plan. The more shirtlessness the better. :D

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
*totally has the icons for being a surfing advisor*

*is, however, going to advise chess instead*

[identity profile] water-wonder.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Dang it. *pouts*

And the icons would have been perfect, too!!

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Role playing club? Yes, from wrong account. Shhhh..tired

[identity profile] cheerfulgoth.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so sorry I didn't respond to this! If you don't have someone else for this, Abby would love to advise that.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome! Got a date preferance?

[identity profile] cheerfulgoth.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on interaction level you want from me. Monday and Thursday evenings are my "never around on the computer" time but if those are what works out for you I can always just pick up tags before or after I'm away.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Monday and Thursday and Friday are the worst nights for me, actually. Wednesday would be bestest.

[identity profile] cheerfulgoth.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Wednesday works great for me too!

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Wednesday sent! (The club is Broots thing, not Marco's or Alanna's, I have no idea why I keep posting out of these accounts.)

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
*had been this close to calling JA the Young Republicans*

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Aziraphale would be more than happy to advise a club. And really, he'd be happy to advise any club at all, whether or not he knows anything about it. Which could be quite the experience for him. ;)

[identity profile] slr-mercury.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
want to advice a chess club? Not that Ami knows Aziraphalewhy do i always want to spell his name differently? from a hole in the wall to ask... But that can be arranged i am sure...

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Sure! He doesn't know the first thing about playing chess, but it's the sort of thing he'll probably decide he needs to learn.

(And don't worry about the spelling, I've seen in all different ways. That's why so many people just type "Phale" instead. *g*)

[identity profile] slr-mercury.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
cool, will email you off-lj

(my skilz in Hebrew are interfering with me typing in English is all. hee)

[identity profile] visor-laforge.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Geordi's available to an advisor. It doesn't matter if he knows anything about what the club is or not.

[identity profile] bluewindbreaker.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Byron would be happy to be an advisor.

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Wade? Just want to torturehelp children learn exciting new things.

[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com 2007-01-30 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Do TA's still count as a job thingie?

[identity profile] hera-rises.livejournal.com 2007-02-01 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Laura's available to act as a faculty advisor.

[identity profile] slr-mercury.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
