Hey, Nicole again! I'm here to give some insight into a little show called Wizards of Waverly Place, that's currently airing on the Disney Channel.

It's one of the newest shows from Disney, currently running its first season.

Wizards of Waverly Place premiered on the Disney Channel on October 12, 2007. This show focuses on the Russo family and more importantly, the three Russo children. Alex, Justin and Max are three kids growing up in present day New York. Seems normal enough. Well, there's one catch. The three of them are wizards in training and their father was a wizard himself. Their mother is a mortal but knows all about the wizarding world.

The show follows the teens through their everyday life and their experiences with magic and wizard training. Yes, it's a Disney Channel show, so it's geared towards kids, but it's definitely entertaining. I've enjoyed the episodes I've seen, so far. Definitely worth checking it out.

Alex Russo - (Played by Selena Gomez) Alex is your typical fourteen year old girl. She's into fashion and boys. Not so much into school, but she makes do, attempting to get through highschool like any normal teenager.

Yeah, except she's not exactly normal. She's a wizard in training, along with her two brothers. Her father used to be one, that's who Alex gets her training from. She's a spunky girl, often getting into magic messes with her siblings.

She works at the Waverly Sub Station, her family's place. Her best friend Harper will help out sometimes.

Justin Russo - (Played by David Henrie) Justin is the eldest Russo sibling, older brother to Alex and Max. Known as the bookworm of the family, Justin loves to live by the rules. This is especially true when it comes to magic. Justin runs a tutoring service in the Waverly Sub Station, also working there to help out his family.

Max Russo - (Played by Jake T. Austin) Max is the youngest Russo child, extremely energetic and quick to get into trouble. Magic is all about having fun with him. Sure, he'll listen to his dad's lessons on wizardry, but most of the time, he'll use it to come up with some new scheme for his amusement. He also works at the Waverly Sub Station with his brother and parents.

Harper Evans - (Played by Jennifer Stone) Harper is Alex's best friend. They both share a love for fashion, though Harper tends to lean toward clothing having to do with fruit. Not sure why, that's just the way it is.

She has no idea about Alex's magical background and unless Alex decides to tell her or Harper happens to find out, she never will know.

Jerry Russo - (Played by David DeLuise) A former wizard in training, Jerry is the head of the Russo household. He has a dual role of both father and teacher, schooling the Russo children in the ways of the wizarding world.

He's extremely strict when it comes to magic. It's warranted, due to Alex and Max often getting into magical messes that get way out of hand.

Theresa Russo - (Played by Maria Canals-Barrera) Theresa is a mortal, with no magical training whatsoever. That being said, she does know all about the wizarding world and will often help her husband teach lessons to the kids, should he need aid.

Gigi Hollingsworth - (Played by Skyler Samuels) This is Alex's worst enemy. They've been fighting since kindergarten, ever since Gigi spilled juice all over Alex's mat and claimed Alex had had an accident. Yeah, real nice.

And it just got worse from there. This girl carries some grudge and Alex even attempted to patch things up with her. Gigi would have none of it.
