Away Teams: Okay I'm In, Now What?
Good question! This post is primarily for the people participating in the away team missions, the name of which is an unfortunate side-effect of me growing up on Star Trek. This is only basic information. Details of the team line-ups and their assigned missions will be out tonight.
You guys don't have to worry about anything until tomorrow. The early part of the week was the set-up. Thursday onwards is when the party really gets started.
Come Thursday, after some research has been done (details of which will be out today), volunteers will be asked for to leave the island and seek out certain information about the angels and our poor victims.
HOW IT WORKS
In general, the format will be as follows:
1) Volunteers are asked for.
2) Volunteers will be assigned to a group and will be allocated to a location and task.
3) They will be given basic information about what they need to find and where they can find it.
4) The group goes to their set location.
5) A mini-adventure ensues. This will vary depending on the location, but will generally involve overcoming obstacles, interacting with simple NPCs and finding your way to the goal through interaction and team work.
6) The information is found. It may be about the victims or more information on the angels. The team then relays the information back to Fandom.
The adventures will operate in two parts over two days (Friday and Saturday) and the posts will be clearly signposted with OCD to allow you to play things out at your own pace, take a break for the night, then carry on the next day. Once the information they've been looking for has been found and relayed back to Fandom, the away teams will be told to stay where they are (or get to a non-Fandom location depending on the team). The OOC reason for this is to keep you guys out of the way for the finale (you get the good adventure, so you get to sit the finale out so others can have a shot at it). The narrative reason will be to provide some form of back-up if the plan to take down the angels doesn't work.
That covers everything for now. As said above, your actual team and assignment allocations will be out tonight (possibly very late tonight). We're trying to iron out a few last details about the missions to make sure they're ready for you guys to jump in on Friday.
