So, the island has moved to Queensland, Australia, just up the river from Brisbane, which happens to be my home town.

Welcome! I've set the air mattresses up on the living room floor, there's coffee brewing, and a nice fast internet connection. I hope you enjoy your stay!

But in all seriousness, this is where the island is:

The causeway leads to North Stradbroke Island, and the City Cats will handily be adding an extra leg to their journey after the Bretts Wharf stop:



and arrive at the Fandom Docks every half an hour to take people down the river.

The Brisbane International film festival is on until 10 August, and the Ekka starts on 7 August, just for starters. I'll be posting more info on stuff to do and putting up fh_trips posts, and there'll be a random events schedule up tomorrow!
