Casting Couch Meme

Since apps are open and we're all looking for ideas...

If you were to cast another player as a character who would it be and why?

[identity profile] sonofmogh.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)

[livejournal.com profile] ltcolkirk: Neo from the Matrix. I think you could pull this character off on both a serious and a cracky level. Just from the mix of the characters you have I just think he'd be a good fit.

[livejournal.com profile] sith_happened: Fox Mulder. I can see you writing the character with his dry and sardonic wit and taking him to some of the crazier depths he took in the show. I dunno. Just seems like a good fit to me.

[livejournal.com profile] stupid_toasters: Jason Nesmith/Captain Peter Quincy Taggart from Galaxy Quest. He'd come to Fandom for... I don't know. The grand re-opening of Turtle and Canary and then could never leave? You'd give the role the sense of humor it needs and the occasional touch of drama it deserves.

[livejournal.com profile] multiplez Gert Yorkes from Runaways. With Old Lace of course. You'd have her personality down pat and I can't think of anyone better who could pull her off at fandom.

[livejournal.com profile] laidanegg: Chewbacca. Sure... he's big and hairy and no one could understand him without a translator but you'd still be able to get his point across with ease. And I see him becoming drinking buddies with D'Argo.

[livejournal.com profile] fair_montague: Mary from "Party Girl" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114095/). A free spirited party girl who likes the raves but finds true meaning in the Dewey Decimal system and being a library clerk.

[livejournal.com profile] tricksy_spy: Nico from Runaways. I think you'd be able to not only write her character's strengths but also pay attention to some of her weaknesses as well.

[livejournal.com profile] canadianpopstar: Barry Ween, Boy Genius (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Barry_Ween,_Boy_Genius). Just because I think you would have so much fun with the character.

[livejournal.com profile] veryarthurdent: Bigby Wolf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigby_Wolf) from Fables. For some reason I see him as more of an extreme version of Kawalsky. And fo course a wolf. *coughs*

[livejournal.com profile] willbedone: Trevor Hale/Cupid from the original Cupid TV show. Not the one that they are re-doing next season that fills me with fear. Jeremy Piven baby!

[livejournal.com profile] needsaparrot: Liandra/Lee from Peter David's "Fallen Angel". She's... Larger than life. I'd like to see what you'd do with her. Plus Fandom needs someone to float above the ground...

[livejournal.com profile] bridge_carson: Hank from Corner Gas. I'm not sure why. I think you have the ability to write his characters type of humoe and I can just see you in the role.

[livejournal.com profile] lilpunkinbelly: Dana Scully. Why? I think even in Fandom you could still write the character to be skeptical about everything.

[livejournal.com profile] the_merriest: Pixie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixie_(X-Men)) from the X-men. Because we so need someone who can ACTUALLY make a pixie dust that would cause people to hallucinate. ("Glitter? Who needs glitter?) And then make Logan go on a rampage and see unicorns again.

Either that or Master Thespian! ACTING!

[livejournal.com profile] sarcasm_guy: Dante from Clerks. You have a View-Askewness about you that would work well in the character. Either that or Mervyn Pumpkinhead (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_The_Sandman#Mervyn_Pumpkinhead)

[livejournal.com profile] vkandis_son: Lucien (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_The_Sandman#Lucien) who is the chief librarian of the The Dreaming in the Sandman comics.

[livejournal.com profile] socksofcool Snape. Or Dr. Lazarus from Galaxy Quest. You'd give good Alan Rickman.

[livejournal.com profile] laceycantlie: Monk. Not just because you'd do the humor well but you'd treat his OCD with tender loving care.

[livejournal.com profile] armybrat_lois: She-Hulk. Just based on how you play your other characters, I think her personality would be a good match with your writing skills.

[livejournal.com profile] not_a_mused: Norville Barnes from The Hudsucker Proxy. Inventor of the Hula hoop and just plain whacky with a touch of heartbreak.

[livejournal.com profile] not_ironmaiden: Harley Quinn from Batman: The Animated Series. You give good crazy.

[livejournal.com profile] spring_lost: Dr. Strange. You know the version I'm talking about.

Hahahaha, weird that I just watched that movie (for the billionth time) this weekend.

I love the one for Mulder though. Yes yes.

I'll totally second [livejournal.com profile] armybrat_lois there. Because... yeah, I can definitely see that.

[identity profile] thismaskiwear.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Likewise, a canon I do not know. I should fix this!

ETA: Yesplz on the Hank Yarbo casting. :D :D :D

[livejournal.com profile] imac_kenzie: Chuck Bartowski from Chuck. It's the geek thing. Sweet geeks who are sort of out of place but end up fitting in anyway. In their own special way, of course.

[livejournal.com profile] slapbetcommish: Liz Lemon from 30 Rock. You write the quirky, sort of crazy females very well. If you can write Lily and her insanity, you can totally write Liz and her neuroses.

[livejournal.com profile] futurebucs_star: Simon Tam from Firefly. I dunno why but I think it might be the fish out of water guy being made to fit in with an established group and not piss off anyone too badly that he's killed. You do that well.

[livejournal.com profile] on_her_korhal: Saul Tigh from BSG. WHAT. CRANKY CHARACTERS!

[livejournal.com profile] trickster_twin: Fiona from Burn Notice. You write the girls with guns REALLY well. And they both have snark, intentional or not.

[livejournal.com profile] psychic_wonder: Jake Foley from Jake 2.0. Tall nerdy boys! You get the nerdism down but it's not OVERWHELMING.

[livejournal.com profile] raspberryturk: Han Solo. I dunno, it's just that...scoundrel mentality Reno and Han both kinda have. It would work!

Okay, I am having a way hard time thinking of things, but.

[livejournal.com profile] laceycantlie- YOU KNOW WHO. I think you'd rule it.

[livejournal.com profile] laidanegg- I still wanna see you with Carrot Ironfoundersson from Discworld. And I can't explain why but if you've read the books you should totally be going "YES" right now.

I'm drawing a blank right now but I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

[livejournal.com profile] minnesota_teen - I think you'd make a great Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl. You do the whole innocent thing well.

[livejournal.com profile] ltcolkirk - I think you'd be able to pull off a Clark Kent well. Doesn't really matter which one. I think you do the whole emo-dork thing well.

[livejournal.com profile] canadianpopstar - For some reason I think you'd make a good Pepper Potts. You could do the calm, cool, collected thing with the touch of snark that she has.

I SECOND THE CLARK KENT COMMENT. Yes indeed.

*peers* It's like you've seen my spreadsheet of potentials.

[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
*peers* Seriously, have you hacked into people's potential lists? I don't have a journal for her but I watched Iron Man for the third time on the plane and spent it going "You know, she's kind of like if you crossed Rory with Robin and made her quieter. Hrm."

I'm sure I'll think of more as I go along, but for now:

[livejournal.com profile] multi_madrox: Toby Ziegler from West Wing. I think you'd rock at "why me?" brilliance that is Toby and be more than able to keep true to Sorkin's way of writing characters.

[livejournal.com profile] goodgirlmeg: Sark from Alias. You make the arrogant assholes so damn appealing.

[livejournal.com profile] laceycantlie: TAHIRI from Star Wars. Yes. Immediately. *nods*. I think you'd also be an excellent Jacen Solo.

[livejournal.com profile] trickster_twin: Dana from Sports Night. She's a snarky, sarcastic, brilliant female character. It's right in your sweet spot for writing :)

[livejournal.com profile] moonbrain_tam: Oooh. I'd love to see you take a crack at Illyria from Angel. You have a knack for getting inside characters' heads who aren't exactly linear thinkers.

[livejournal.com profile] laidanegg: Rat from Pearls Before Swine. It would be epic in its awesomeness.

[livejournal.com profile] willbedone: Dexter from Dexter. Because you rock at writing lurking creepy while staying so very normal on the surface.

There was a point of time where I did consider apping Sark for a while. I love him. I'd come full circle in this game if I did play him. British jackass - California jackass - NYC jackass - back to British jackass :D

I know there's more but my head, she aches for all the thinking!

[livejournal.com profile] cantjossme - Andy Botwin from Weeds. Seven-toed stoner townie.

[livejournal.com profile] ecirpnellehada - Jack McPhee from Dawson's Creek. Something about an emo gay football player in Fandom makes me glee. I think you'd handle it really well for some reason.

[livejournal.com profile] psychic_wonder - Dawson Leery. You know you want to.

[livejournal.com profile] wannabe_pan - Shirlee Kenyon from Straight Talk! Big boobs and good intentions.

[livejournal.com profile] thankgoditsme - Three words: Ted Vivian Mosby!

[livejournal.com profile] walks_two_paths - Bella Swan from Twilight. She's emo! And loves sparkly vampires bad boys!

[livejournal.com profile] lovelylana - Peyton Sawyer from One Tree Hill. Come on, goth cheerleader and indy music lover? *offers canon*

[livejournal.com profile] sarcasm_guy - Crazy old school Jack O'Neill. DO IT NOW.

[livejournal.com profile] sixstandingby - Michael Weston of Burn Notice. Because I said so.

[livejournal.com profile] goodgirlmeg - Doug Wilson of Weeds. Stoner accountant who makes me laaaaaugh!

[identity profile] lovelylana.livejournal.com 2008-08-12 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I could do Peyton... *considers*

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] trickster_twin: Ellen Ripley, as either an adult or a student, because she kicks serious ass and you're not afraid to take aggressive characters to dark places.

[livejournal.com profile] ecirpnellehada: Stephanie Plum. Worst luck and the most fun you can have while almost getting killed. Possibly responsible for the hole in the ozone layer. The humor and quirk seems like it would be up your alley.

[livejournal.com profile] laidanegg: Taylor Doose, from Gilmore Girls. I've seen you do it before for guest shots, and he just rocked. Plus I think he'd be a great townie.

[livejournal.com profile] psychic_wonder: Tristan, from Gilmore Girls. Because then you could look at his icons ALL THE TIME. *cough* Or possibly Boromir from LotR, because you seem to like the doomed guys who make noble choices in the end.

[livejournal.com profile] morpherboy: Eowyn, from LotR. She doesn't have a talking cat, but man, you're good at medieval-esque warrior women.

[livejournal.com profile] rocksthescarf" Donna Moss, from The West Wing. Mouthy, sarcastic blonde with a sly sense of fun. Less innocent but more clueless than Meg.

I'm sure I'll think of more eventually.

likethegun: (i'm making an innocent face)

[personal profile] likethegun 2008-08-13 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I am ignoring the first part of that to focus on Boromir. *squishes him lots and lots*
