I for one welcome our new island overlord!

So, as of tonight, the island has moved and is bigger.

And here's a map: New Island Map [ETA: twice updated as per comments]. All credit goes to thankgoditsme for creating the original, which has been modified slightly. (Alas, I lack graphics skills.)

Of particular note are:

1) The Onsen
2) The spooky haunted manor house
3) The lighthouse

The wooded unexplored area is just that, and surrounds the Onsen and the manor house. There are cleared tracks leading to both of those.

The areas which are marked out and numbered are spaces where there will be NPC businesses, and some of the buildings are already there - in good condition, but you can't get into them. The boardwalk and all the marked roads are there.

NPC and (hopefully - remember, Townies applications are open all year around!) PC businesses will be opening over the next few weeks and we'll be posting information about those.

Questions, comments, some kind of Maryland delicacy?

So much to squee at! A new haunted mansion (since Leo put the ghosts at Efferton to rest, I'm glad there's a new one. I never noticed that the playground Leo got added to the park was on the map! Yay! And perhaps I'm a bit of a strange dork for squeeing at this but: LIGHTHOUSE! YEE! *starts racking brain for townie characters to app as keeper.*

I'm wondering how this changes the view of Fandom. Fandom up until now has been medieval with narrow streets and an atmosphere loosely based on Mont Saint-Michel.

What about this new part? Did it adjust itself to the rest of the island? Are we sticking to the old medieval thing Fandom has going or will we now have an added modern part to town?

Mixed sex?
And - teacher/student mix?

I'd hope it's open to all (it'd give a nice place for mingling) but...teachers and students while not covered might be...problematic.

I actually have a serious thing for once. Looking at the map, it looks like The Magic Box has two locations: one at Apocalypse & Unicorn (which I believe is the correct location per the old map) and one at Sphinx & Mallard (which is the former Jerry store, I think). I assume the "Magic Box" in that location is placeholder text, but either way I think it's worth pointing out.

Or, it's possible that I need a new prescription for my glasses and that says "Logic Fox" or something. Which would be a great name for a band.

Also are there actual port facilities at the port of Fandom?

Right, with you - I was picturing loading cranes and container stacks and getting confused.

Yes to warehouses, but they fall into the empty building category detailed above. That's all at this point in time, but more detail will come as NPC businesses get up and running.

Also, the map is updated. Hopefully that's less confusing.
