State of the Characters!

We've done this one before but it's a really good one for both wrapping up a year and starting a new one. So, it's time for state of the characters!

Basically, what this meme is for is to give the game at large an update or a summary of what's going on with each of your characters. Romances, classes, upcoming plots, things you might want to do with them in the future, crushes, people you want to thread with, etc.

It's basically a paragraph or so about where your character stands, what's coming up and what the future holds! You can do a comment for each character or stick all your characters in one comment.

For example: Umbridge: Sometimes, it's hard for me to play her because she's so intensive and tiring. But, she's having fun hexing students and pissing off teachers. I'm enjoying her games of give and take with Anakin and Wade, particularly. I'd love to see her thread more with Roy. She'll be leaving soon but not before a big explosive ending.

It doesn't have to be exactly like that but that's basically the gist. Feel free to reply to each other if you have thread ideas or even plot ideas. So, go forth and share! And thank you to [livejournal.com profile] trickster_twin for poking me about this one!

Lindsay in many ways is still settling in. The month of weird holiday occurrences went a long way towards breaking her in though she'll never get used to it. In fact it'll probably just give her an excuse to visit Loki and bitch about it.

She now has two roommates in Tyler and Lizzy. Four if you count Martha and the occasional pony. Roommates are good things as she's not totally isolating herself.

Plotty wise she still has the scary attic of photos for someone to stumble across and she has the end of her canon to deal with but I'm happy with her dealing with Fandom for a while.

Still thinking about having her participate in CopCon but I have to figure a way to get her girlfriends back home involved without exceeding my limit for the Con.

Ronon: Oy, Ronon. He's been slowly getting out and meeting people (even accidentally) and that should only improve in the next few weeks. Once the series ends next week, I can send him home to get a super speed S5 canon catch-up and bring him back of his own choice rather than at the whim of the IOA.

I don't know why, but he's oddly fond of people like Deadpool, Pepper, Worf, and Loki. Lindsay poking him at the party as a suspected drug user might be my favorite thread ever, though.

Toby: I never thought I'd get Toby to the point where he's both single and gasp happyish at the same time. He's not sure what to do about Kevin disappearing, but I'm hoping he doesn't think throwing himself into the ocean at winter is a good way to get home and check on his ex.

He's glued to BFF Lee and lives for seeing hotass Professor Skywalker. His time working radio started him with a lot of sekrit shipping that he's going to miss this semester. Toby considers himself a real journalist after a semester on the FH Times and thinks Mister Jameson will just love what he's done for the horrorscopes section.

Oh, and he's started wearing clothes. Like, to cover his chest and stuff. I'm as amazed as anyone.

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Joan: Joan very nearly got dropped this term because I was having a hard time coming up with God stuff for her that actually made sense. But several people helped convince me that not having constant God stuff was okay, so she's still here.

The Jan plot was amazing and perfect and exactly the kind of thing that I need to do more, so if anyone has anything weird they need done, please let me know. I'm also brainstorming to come up with something to run on my own.

She needs to go on a date. She sort of has a crush on Marco, but they don't see each other very often.

It amazes me that she's on StuCo and Cheerleading and enjoying both though.

[identity profile] minnesota-teen.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Amber: Amber is just Amber. She's easy, has got a hot new boyfriend, and is just la la la a big dork.

My inner bratness would love to see some more threads with Katina because they are made of win and make me laugh oh so much.

Annnnnd, when she graduates she is going back home to get shot at and take over the local news station. Woo!

See? Easy.

[identity profile] berserkerminsc.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Minsc: Minsc is an odd one; he likes it here and he loves teaching and all the interesting things that Fandom has to offer (he'd find it so boring and miss home even more if it weren't for those!), but he is terribly lonely in a world where he isn't constantly traveling around with a group of adventures and killing things for great justice!

Thankfully, the motley 25 Uni crew coming in will change that a lot, I think. I'm ridiculously excited for it. I just wish I could get out of the rut that having a relatively passive character with such a passive player can cause sometimes. Minsc looooooves chatting with people, but I think sometimes I just feel bad inflicting Minsc on people because he's speeeeeecial.

And there still needs to be a Hamster/Cockamouse playdate, dammit. OTP.

Sarah: Is settled in and almost used to Fandom being "special," but she's in a whinier place than is probably good for her. She misses what she sees as her real job and would be much happier if she got to shoot at things more often. (And she misses Chuck a LOT, though good luck getting her to tell that story.) But at the same time, Fandom's closer to a normal life than she's had, like, ever, and she sort of digs that. (...sometimes.)

Coming up for her, I have a little canon catch-up plot to polish and submit, and she has a list of recruits she needs to work with. She also really wants a boyfriend (though she'll probably lie her head off to him). And, seriously, if anyone needs a spy for a plot, poke me. She likes keeping busy.

From the writing side, I did not expect her to be this much fun because she's so quiet and so internal and tends to be so normal on the surface -- I was worried her threads would just read as boring. They don't seem to, and I am psyched from that end.

One of these days, I have got to get Mac out and down to meet her. Really, really do.

[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Mac needs to get out more. She's ended up in one of those antisocial ruts where you're quite sure how to get them back out of. Should be her new year resolution.

Aside from that, she's relatively happy, especially to be graduating in a few months and getting to go to college. It's been a long time coming -- I mean, good God the girl has been here since freshman year. Must be some kind of record.

She missed her opportunity with Dick, but I sooo still want her to get to set someone up with a transvestite before she leaves.

Daisy:

...Oh, Daisy. It's odd playing her at times because, I swear, I get more emotionally invested in her interactions that she ever would. She's fun, though, and I enjoy everything she does. And she absolutely loves everyone she's met (well, not everyone; she still thinks Nate's a jerkface meanie-head), even if she still thinks the whole seeing people you get lucky with often and frequent thing is SUPER WEIRD.

From a character perspective, though, she's really hoping something goes down around here soon. She's all about balance at times, and she's had way too much of the Off-Work Daisy, and not enough Detective Constable Day. She complains about it in her head a lot, but she loves things like trying to interrogate people, and, if she lets herself think about it, it depresses her a bit that she only got to do that with Tony and there hasn't been much like that since (unless you count the horse).

It would be awesome if people threw more stuff like that at her; I try to come up with some myself, but my inspiration fails at time. So much.

Ray

Is getting kinda settled on the island despite his best efforts. Is learning to deal with the fact that four in five women don't immediately reject him around here. Is trying to strike a balance between beating down Fraser's door every day and giving the guy the cold shoulder.

Will never, ever get over the dinosaurs.

And that's about it. He's just a normal guy, trying to deal with the fact that he's getting older and that the chance of him returning to Chicago is getting to be slim to none a little more every day.

[identity profile] flashesforinfo.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Angela, still by far the easiest of mine to get out and socialise. Such is the benefits of a character who loves people as much as she does. Kind of tiring, but playing someone naturally positive tends to rub off on me and that's no bad thing.

As far as she's concerned, things are going just swimmingly. She has some good girl talk friends (and that girly night out must happen sometime), People like Hannibal (and she's just going to keep playing down how much she's liiiiiikes him) and Chuck who she can flirt shamelessly with, and those like Ichigo where she can overshare about her sex life and watch the flail.

I do think she needs more drama in her life, because God knows she's been way too cheerful way too long, and may explode of it at some point.

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Dale Cooper: Dale has been surprising me lately. He is now sheriff and being happily domestic with Charlotte and even has a dog. Well technically its Charlotte's dog but you get the idea.

And you know just when I think Dale can handle anything in Fandom, he ran into Sam and Max and he boggled at them like a boggling thing. I think that was good for him.

Nothing really plotwise coming up other than CopCon. I'm debating whether or not someone from his canon should show up just because I'd love to have Albert show up and alienate everyone.

[identity profile] justmisplaced.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Shawn at the moment is actually also in a pretty good place, although I suck at actually doing things with him. So he hates college, but he gets to heal people and feels like he's doing something decent with his life at the 4400 center at the very least.

He has a long-distance relationship going with Lana, and while that is difficult with a whole country between them, it's well worth it and he loooooves her to bits.

There will be trauma at some point soon, when I get around to following up on the rest of 4400 canon. I still need to figure out how I'm going to tweak things to make it work.

Ender

While Ender's calmed down a little, and his recent adventures-- the discover of the Bugger Queen, real or not-- have set him on a clearer path for himself, he hasn't really forgiven himself that much. He's more comfortable with it, though. He'll never quite be comfortable in Fandom *proper*.

With Karal gone, Ender's currently without anyone who actually knows his story or he could talk to about it, and honestly, that suits him fine. He never told Karal that much, and trusting anyone with what he *did* tell Karal already has him a little uncomfortable. He's fine with people assuming he's just another child soldier, which he finds is actually the easiest story to sell here.

Otherwise, he's just constantly on the look-out for constructive things to do. Stark's little sattelite project is keeping him busiest at the moment, and he likes it like that, too. He worries about Ben's situation, but he worries about getting too entangled in it too much at the same time, so he's choosing to at least try to look like he's reserved about it.

He's thinking, mostly. And trying to write the Queen's story, but it's not quite coming yet.

Cal Stephanides is being so utterly Cal lately that I really love it. Right down to his aversion to recognize the fact that he and Claire really are practically dating to his being all on-and-off in disposition with Amber. I think he really is starting to get into writing, even though it's not something that'll really come into fruition ever, as per canon. I'm planning to start steering him a little toward something that suggests the (somewhat random) canon career of working international liaisons with Germany (whut?).

Oh, and he's actually thinking about just being frank and honest about the hermpahroditism now. Whut? I know. I haven't decided yet, so I guess I'll just see how it goes, but not even he can argue that four out of four is a good indication that maybe it might just be okay.

[identity profile] talks2objects.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Dor: Haven't gotten him out as much as I should. Then again he tends to isolate himself in canon due to the nature of his powers so it's not horribly out of character to seclude himself. He's a bit sad that Jan left and a new roommate appears to be on the horizon, so we'll see what that does to shake him up.

There is plotty for him but that might take place in the summer so we'll see what happens in between.

[identity profile] scary-jeff.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Jeff is trying not to think about having to leave at the end of the next term. He has more important things to focus on, like the fact that he thinks he's getting over some dental hygiene issues, and omfg *keysmash* there's an actual woman wanting to have sex with him!

He also only jumps once when he hears a phone ringing. This is a great leap from when he actually arrived on the island.

Coyote

Coyote is fun and needs to get out more. Seriously. And still very frustrated that no one on the island seems to have heard of him. . . . Hopefully in the new year, he'll be out and about more to get his name and stories out there. I think he's a little bit disappointed not to be the strangest guy around, but he's also enjoying the variety of people around him on the island.

And on a player note: I need to find more images of his PB! And possibly upgrade for more icon space.

I'm hoping to find a chance for him to go female for a little while. At least a thread. And get more of his trickiness in.

And he totally needs to convince Ichigo to get laid. ;D

[identity profile] sonofmogh.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Worf: Wow. I don't know why such an arrogant character is fun to play but I have too much fun with him even if I don't get him out much. Then again he doesn't WANT to get out so that's fine by him. Like Dor he's hopefully getting a new roommate which should shake him up a little bit. He needs it.

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Jamie is quite happy in life. The Ninja girlfriend tends to keep him in line and I haven't done anything insane with him lately. There's a bit of plot I've been meaning to do but it means iconning and writing and I just haven't been able to get into the headspace for it.

I'm looking forward to this semester. Hopefully he'll get into Sex Ed because Steve Rogers teaching? C'mon. I'm also throwing him into radio tryout because while it was a lot of work it also was a lot of fun.

As for canon? Well there's this whole baby thing I'll need to deal with however PAD is taking his own sweet time with it.

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Cable is restless, no doubt about it. While he feels his decision to leave the baby where he did was the right one, he's starting to get the feeling he either needs to get her back or find some other way to help her out.

So he's poking his nose back into world affairs a little. Figure out what's going on, letting particular contacts know he's still alive, poking at a few about-to-fall presidents... it's partly Blaquesmith's fault for poking his Messiah complex during PW, but it's also an inherent kind of restlessness.

He's still trying to make some effort to be a good friend to Deadpool, but it's anyone's guess how and if that'll last (although here's to hoping it holds up for a while yet, and there's not currently any signs of him pushing). He insists he's seriously not dating him, although he doesn't exactly mind Wade hanging around. Keeps him from getting bored, yannow.

And then there's being the mayor. He's enjoying that, and it's probably what's keeping him from going off and pushing anything too hard right now. Time'll tell. Right now, he's got a vacation to enjoy.

Also, after months of sitting on his hands, he actually wouldn't resist a chance for a good firefight or something right now. Someone once described him as the world's most violence-loving pacifist, and that's abooout right.

Charlotte York is in a state of pure and domestic bliss right now with someone she's pretty sure is her soooooulmate, so there isn't much to say about her right now. Worries about Dale's past keep her at bay, and the introduction of Elizabeth Taylor will distract her for a bit before she kicks off into full OMG HI IT'S MARRIAGE TIEM MODE.

Which frightens me. A LOT.

She's also thinking of starting up something a bit more interactive at the gallery this coming year, so yay for that! Hopefully, her mun won't be a lazy stupid butt and procrastinate on it.

[identity profile] armybrat-lois.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Lois Lane I really don't get her out enough and I have no idea why. She's easy for me to play and she is a very, very social person. I love the relationships she's got going on here, especially her friendships with John and Jaina.

She's taking a break from radio this semester which I suppose means I should get her out in the CR posts and stuff more. I should also get her dating again which she loooooooooves but I'm always kind of lame with. I will try to be un-lame.

Also she hasn't been in the hospital in a while. That should probably change.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Kerrigan has recently been freed from the Overmind's control over her mind, and she's eager to keep it that way. So eager in fact that she's currently allied herself with her old enemy, the Protoss, because some Zerg Cerebrates are trying to create a new Overmind to rule all Zerg kind once again.

There's not really much to say beyond that, except that everything, so far, is going according to plan. And the benefit of the old Hive Mind connections is that she doesn't have to miss River at all.

So basically, for those who know the games, she's currently looking towards running through all of her Brood War canon over the year. Mwahaha. MWHAHAHAHAHA. And I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

Yamanaka Ino has managed to find herself a bit of balance lately. She's still got all the same issues she had before because nothing has been 'fixed' but she's keeping herself busier, with productive things (three jobs, two major self-chosen projects, plus classes, meditation, and learning to close her mind) and that lets her stay on a more even keel. She's kinda surprised that she's actually dating someone at the moment, and it's going good, without many issues. Ino doesn't know what to think of that.

I'm so excited about what's been going on in canon lately, with the elaboration of what, exactly, Ino's family can do as their speciality, and will at some point start bringing that in, but she's way too busy to learn anything else Right Now. I'm also excited about Ino's next trip home, which will probably happen in the next month or two, because then I get to deal with some of the issues that come from the differences in morality and ethics between her world, and Fandom.
