Down at the Y-M-C-A!

Hello, hello, people of Fandom!

This post is for those of us who find getting interaction with other teachers or townies a mite difficult to do outside of Caritas or work posts. We, your esteemed and leather pants wearing admins, have given some serious thought to the possibility of a community center for people to use for adult education (no, not that kind), adult-centric clubs (again, not that kind you pervs), and basically good ways to garner interaction all around.

What we would like now is all of your input.

Just what would you like to see out of this? What sorts of activities would you like to see housed at this type of center? We only ask that you keep in mind the currently available facilities in town, but otherwise, please brainstorm away!

These are all awesome.

Could also do fundraiser things for whatever - Spaghetti dinners are pretty popular around here. So are Silent Auctions.

And pulling from some things we've done before (which both were based on Gilmore Girls) - a dance marathon and an adults only picnic basket lunch auction.

A book club would be fun but could be difficult because of meta issues. A street fair with all the businesses putting out tables and having concessions and other fun things available.

I feel like we could probably gank some other ideas from shows like Gilmore Girls and Corner Gas since they are both quirky small towns.
