How'd you get into your canon?

Did you just pick it up one day and found yourself unable to put it down, or did someone (maybe from this game) drag you into it? How long have you been into it? That was the 1979 Frank Langella Dracula for me. By the time I hit Buffy I was well over that. Because I'm old.
