tell me a story, game!

So with the new kids coming in and showing off their shiny new fandoms, I'm curious.

How'd you get into your canon?

Did you just pick it up one day and found yourself unable to put it down, or did someone (maybe from this game) drag you into it? How long have you been into it? Was there any one thing or character that hooked you on it? This is your chance to wax nostalgic and go on about what made your canon so cool for you. If there's a story behind it, tell us! And if there's not... tell us anyway!

(Mind you by the time S7 hit I was such a spoilerwhore that [livejournal.com profile] repeterpetrelli and [livejournal.com profile] saltandammo and I were dissecting most of the plot a week before it aired, in between desperately hoping some of the spoilers were wrong due to their extreme lameitude. Sadly the lame ones never were.)

Yeah, Buffy fandom was where I became a total and complete spoiler whore, true facts.

And omg the crazy in that fandom. Whenever I ran into a pocket of it, I would just back away verrry slowly and then go and write some more Giles slash.

Oh God, you have reminded me of possibly the worst S7 thing ever (though the culmination of the Buffy, Our Lady Of Sorrows plotline in B getting kicked out of the house may be equal):

POD-GILES. And then the horrible, lametastic Nice fakeout but you didn't explain why he was *acting* like that, dumbasses "resolution" of the Pod-Giles issue.

Ha, and now you reminded me of the fact that I still have shooting-script PDFs for like the last five episodes on my hard drive at home.
