BDE Infopost of Evil From Beyond Time, Part 2!
Howdy, friends and neighbors! Now that Livejournal seems to be (knock on vegetable matter) stumbling to its feet, here’s some follow-up information on the BDE, including sign-up results, NPC-ing, and additional brainstorming space!
Team SKIENCE, Take One, The Initial Investigations!
Our early scientific pokers, who’ve been provided with a list of observations that can be gleaned from a sample of the soon-to-appear alien stone, under the ringmastership of Miss Hermione Granger and Miss Jane Porter, are:

Given that we’ve got more fighters than monsters, we’re going to leave this one open. Anyone who’d like their character to join in the final battle on the side of Alien Evil From Beyond Time may reply to requests in the “I want an NPC!” post on the day of the finale, offering their mutated character in place of an NPC!
The list of monsters who’ve signed up already, for the purpose of brainstorming and any character-on-character fights you might like to set up, is:

We’re so glad you asked!
Clinic Helpers and Library Researchers
These two options are also open for anyone to join at any time; there’ll be a thread for volunteers in the clinic post starting on Wednesday the 3rd, and the library will be open for anyone to come in and work solo or together on... failing to fix whatever’s happening to the island.
Those who’ve already signed up, again just for headcount and brainstorming purposes (if you’d like to work together in groups, for instance) are:
I Want To Be An NPC Monster!
If you’d like to play an infected teal deer or alot (or for facepalmy hilarity, one of the smaller denizens of the island like the ducks or furry fish), there’ll be a post each day starting Tuesday, the 2nd for people to request your presence so their character can battle you (or just get viciously attacked). There’s an NPC sign-up thread below for head-count purposes, but you’re welcome to add yourself to that at any time; there’s no deadline.
Aaaand that’s it for now! Questions will be answered with love. Smartass questions will be answered with love, followed by ritual feeding of the asker to the Great Old Ones. With love.

So What Can I Do If I’m Not On Any Of The Teams
We’re so glad you asked!
- Get your character infected! Then deal with going crazy and turning into a monster, as you do.
- Send them to the clinic and let people try to cure them
- Send them to the Trooper Station to be locked up if they get too dangerous
- Let them roam around the island terrorizing people. In this case, since some of the infected will be students, that also includes the dorms.
- Deal with your infected friends!
- Emo and trauma and fear, oh my!
- Try to find out what’s causing this; surely the library can help! (Spoiler: not...so much.)
- Try to fix people! (One on one, or by offering your help at the clinic.)
- Fight you some monsters!
- In the dorms, if you’ve got a friend gone bad. One on one, or you may want to get together once the seriousness of the situation is apparent, and come up with a plan for keeping the area safe as a group.
- Out and about on the island! Character-on-character, or against transformed animals, which can be modded or NPC’d as needed.
- Try to go about your life. Worry a lot.
- Fleeeeee the island! Unless you’re already infected, in which case you’ll be stopped.

Plus that's just the physical effects; the mental ones have no timeline but the player's personal preference on how fast their character wold go nuts! So even with a later infection, the character could be a fanged, clawed, black-eyed but otherwise humanoid version of themselves physically, but already be completely mentally taken over and ready to attack their friends.
