Hello ladies and gentlegents!

Phase 2 is now well under way, and we love seeing what you've been coming up with! Alumni and island-dwellers are of course welcome to keep noticing things going missing in their home dimensions, but we're going to take a minute to look ahead to Phase 3 now. What does that mean? Well, it means it's time to start looking into who you'd like your still-surviving drops to call before the Nothing comes and drags them off! Starting November 21st, you'll have two weeks to contact the current and/or former island dweller of your choosing with a voicemail message or if need be, a short phone conversation, of your drop calling out for help/cursing the gods/what have you before the Nothing gets them.

We're putting up this post for two reasons: one, so anyone with concrete plans for their drop can choose to let us know the whos and the hows for administrative purposes, and two, so those of you who don't have concrete plans yet can brainstorm. Who's around that your character would call? Or would they rather grab an old-timey authority figure like Zoe, Cable, Deadpool or Anakin? (Consider all of them volunteered if you don't have anyone else.) When would you want to put this through, and how?

Here's your big chance to figure it out!

As for the near future, on November 14th, Portalocity will admit that the portal system is becoming unbalanced and will begin limiting transportation into and out of affected dimensions. Portalocity will shut down all portals for non-Fandom, non-alumni characters on November 20th.

Neither of these actions will directly affect your PC characters, but Portalocity will be making the information available to all customers, so that can be added to the pile of clues that something strange is happening.

Mostly because I like the idea of Jamie trying to convince Fandom people that there's something seriously wrong only to get ignored because he's Jamie.

Steph and Gabs are available for calls, either at random or whatever, if anyone needs 'em.

Actually, Katchoo, Jen, and Anders are also available for calls, now that I think about it. Not the obnoxious one, though.

I signed up Algren (shiroi_tiger) and Valentine (importantman) for a final call, without thinking terribly hard about who that contact would be going to.

Or, rather, one call from a flaily formerly-masked waiter who isn't likely to care who's listening so long as they're willing to answer the phone, and a letter, maybe, from Algren? He's been living in Japan, well over a century ago. He's not exactly one with the telephone, there and then.

Can they send letters?

There's one drop Ronan better be getting a call from, grenfelzer. Even if it will freak him right out. ;) And he's also open for calls from any other drops, whether or not they're people he knew!

I was hoping to have Cam call Zoe actually. Just hadn't poked Katie about it yet. As I'm thinking of having him disappear in an SGC setting, there's the possibility of getting some more info out there too if that would be useful. Though I'm guessing any readings of the Nothing come up as... nothing.

Bo, Xander, and Francine are all open for calls, not that there's many dropped characters who would know Bo. If you need a random Authority Figure that your character might reach when calling the school, though, she's there.

Loki would love LOVE love to leave a message for someone. Most of his friends have departed but I think some of the MHA tenants might know him. Takers there?

Gavin (sixstandingby) and Lee Adama (stupid_toasters) are also signed up to leave messages. Not sure if they know anyone that's still around but they'll both talk to anyone!

Any of my folk are callable: Claudia, Sam, Pinkie or Vincent. Claudia's the most likely to actually know the call-ee but there's nothing wrong with a good random phone call.

Will there be any problems for characters sending more concrete packages out, rather than the voicemail/phonecall? I know that I was planning for one of my drops to send a parcel to a current character when he noticed things falling apart, and at least one other player I know of has a character who is in a place/time without phones.

I can totally work mine some other way if need be, but if my plans can stay in place, I will totally love you guys forever. :D
