BDE: Phase Three Has Arrived!

Hello folks, and welcome to the next stage in the lead-up to your Fall BDE! That means a couple of things, which we'll outline for you here:

• Last messages for your drops: Dropped characters whose universes are being attacked by the Nothing get their last phone call/voicemail message/letter by carrier pigeon. If you can send it electronically, say it over a phone, or fit it in a manila envelope, it's allowed! Just keep in mind that the post takes a while: Friends don't let their mailmen get Nothing'ed! Brainstorm post is here!


• Welcome Back, Alumni: Okay, so it's not as festive an occasion as Homecoming, but as of today, all alumni and expats are welcome back on the island for the duration of the lead-up to, and the actual, BDE.


• And here's to you, Lady LeJean: You may have noticed that Fandom has yet another new citizen. Miss LeJean is here to keep an eye on progress for the Auditors, and make sure no one gets too close to a solution. She's taking the art gallery for her own - and will be around for interaction until the end of the BDE. Just don't expect her to spill any of her secrets right off the bat...


• Bye bye, Portalocity (for now): Non-Fandom, non-alumni guests are now refused service by the trusty folks at Portalocity. But! Frequent flyer of the Portalocity system? Still a part of the Fandom Alumni Network? Or plain old Fandomite? Portalocity will still be allowing you to use its increasingly malfunctioning services until December 3rd, when the island is finally cut off. Though we're sure they'll keep their PR department working.


• Watch out for that Causeway, it's a killer: Starting today, the continuing disruptions are going to start complicating Causeway activity. It will still work, for the most part, but (if you choose to play with it) it might not always do so, turning you back towards the island or dumping you on the mainland instead of your intended destination.

I assume those of us with le teleporty (er, three of mine, SIGH) should work it out to follow along the same as Portalocity? Trying to bring an NPC to the island now results in getting knocked around and ending up in the wrong place or something, and as of 12/3 there's no going back and forth from the island at all?

On the island proper it should still work for Wyatt and Bel. Raven's another story, hmm.

Question! For the dropped characters are they going to be able to communicate directly to their contacts or only via voicemail?

And will there be another Nothing post where they can make their last post before disappearing?

So that's a yay on a (short) phonecall.

We don't have any posts like that slated, as the messages are supposed to be the last sign of these characters we see. If there's interest, though, we can put up posts to collect links to final messages, and of course you're welcome to detail your character's final moments as elaborately in the messages as you want.
