SPRING 2012 CLASS SIGN-UPS
Good noon shut up morning, folks! It's time once again to sign up for classes, for the spring semester of 2012! These sign-ups are for both NEW and RETURNING students!
1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while we put up the OCD!
2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.
3) "PC" classes are those taught by a teacher character, the things you're signing up for here, as opposed to the conceptually newer "NPC" classes, which are discussed in their own thread towards the end of this post.
1) Each student character MUST sign up for at least 2 PC classes. Each player may only sign up for a MAXIMUM of 8 PC classes, spread among your student characters in any way you choose, as long as each has the minimum of 2. (Yes, this means that if you only have one student, you could sign them up for 8 classes. Just think carefully about whether you have the availability to handle that.)
2) For any classes that exceed their maximum numbers:
a. If you have two characters signed up for one class, one will be ousted (so make a note of who you'd prefer to get the spot).
b. Student characters played by the teacher of the class will also get ousted.
c. Students who have already taken the same class from the same teacher will also be eliminated, so please note in your ping if you're attempting to repeat the course.
d. If the class still has too many, the Random Number Generator (RNG) will be used to determine the roster from the remaining sign-ups. If you have been RNG'd out, we will let you know as soon as possible so you can choose a second alternative.
3) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2 / maximum 8 courses. Please note TA-ship in the sign-up, so the character won't be counted towards the class-maximum of 20 students. Teachers: please refrain from having your own character act as the TA as it defeats the purpose of having a back-up player to post for you!
4) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap.
5) If you sign up, you need to show up. Class attendance is how we keep track of your character's activity. If you repeatedly fail to at least sign in to your classes, we'll have to contact you about it, and you could be asked to leave the game.
6) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.
7) To be fair to people in all time-zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve. Excess numbers in classes will be whittled down with the handy-dandy Random Number Generator (RNG).
And now we get to what you really want to see!
The Spring 2012 Fandom High Class Schedule
FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on December 28th, 2011. (We apologize for the earlier deadline than usual; it's because of the earlier picnic so people won't have to juggle newbies with New Year's Eve.) No late sign-ups will be allowed without extenuating circumstances or proper arrangements, so sign up early in case something comes up! If you don't sign up on time, you'll have to wait for the next semester to play, woe.
General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Questions or difficulties, please email us - administration (@) fandomhigh.net - or drop a question in the Questions thread down below.
YOU WILL WAIT FOR THE OCD OR I WILL KISS YOU. WITH THIS ICON. OCD UP! COMMENT SAFELY. KISSES FOR ALL WITH THIS ICON. EXCEPT NIC.
Please read the following before you start signing up:

Wednesday : Period 1 : What was the school board thinking... Now with More Welsh
A rambling potpourri of topics developed under the strict guidelines of Mr. Murdock and Mr. Madrox that will dazzle the mind and enlighten the senses and will no doubt be put together 15 minutes before the class starts.
This class is not endorsed by Zoe Winchester and she is not liable for any mental damage caused by participating in the class.

Wednesday : Period 4 : Mad Kings & Queens : Atreides
Many of us have been inspired at some point by great men and women in history. The past, however, was also shaped by the insane, the irrational, and the degenerate -- people with absolute power and few inhibitions.
From the whimsical to the deranged, we will explore the catalogue of chaos and depravity left in their wake, and look at various ways they were removed from power.
This course is not recommended for the faint-of-heart.

Thursday : Period 1 : Ethics : Skywalker
Anakin Skywalker explains how every choice you make will lead to disaster on a galactic level and everyone you love dying.Using a series of classes dealing with hypothetical situations and Danger Shop simulations that show what kind of real life consequences your choices might have, Ethics helps students decide what they believe before they graduate, go back to their home dimensions and get smacked hard in the face with reality. Or by Anakin, but he understands there's forms involved if he does that too often.Re: Thursday : Period 1 : Ethics : Skywalker

Friday : Period 3 : Leadership : Summers
Sometimes, great problems can only be solved with great teamwork. And in order to make sure those teams work effectively, a leader needs to step up. We'll cover everything from picking your team, motivating them toward a common goal, and how to recover when things go wrong. Like, say, an unwashed loner swoops in and ruins everything. Or your fiancee kills you and nobody notices for days. As you may imagine, this class will be heavy with groupwork.

Friday : Period 4 : Art of Scrap : McCoppin
In this course, fuelled by coffee and a passion for creation, instructor Dean McCoppin will take students through several different art forms, all with a focus on reusing that which most people have given up on as junk already. Students will learn the basics of composition and balance, and by the end of the course will be able to put them to use to create art out of junk. Or junk out of art. Sometimes, it's difficult to tell the difference.

NPC Class Requests
We'll collect up your requests for class subjects, respond to anything that seems problematic, combine any accidental duplicates, and make a list that will be posted along with the PC wokshop rosters once sign-ups are over. After that, any student may refer to that list when talking about additional classes they're taking!
So, in this thread, please request NPC classes of a normal high school nature that you'd like to be available for your characters to take.
(List as many as you'd like in the same comment, but please keep them to classes you actually want, not general suggestions. No need to +1 any classes you want that are already suggested! That actually makes it a bit harder to total them up.)
