Meme: Recast Your Canon!
I'm pretty sure we haven't done this since November 2009. It's about time we revisited it, don't you think? The instructions (taken from
sonofmogh with examples intact because WORF) are as follows:
Sometimes when you're playing in a cross-fandom setting, you start to realize that certain characters have taken on the role someone else has in canon. The point of this meme is to take a look at the canon cast list and see who in FH could be cast as the character.
For example:
- Katchoo would be Worf's Tasha Yar at FH. She has the same fiery attitude and Worf respects that type of thing.
- Cable would be Worf's Picard, especially with Nate's way of convincing him to look at matters from a different perspective. Or at least make him watch The View.
So in other words: Recast your canon using FH characters and feel free to explain us why!

She-Force → Billy Kaplan. Okay so it's not as equal a relationship, but they're both people who are way nicer and more ethical than Electroclash is, and yet she doesn't seem to mind being around them.
Excelsor → Guy Gardner. Except Guy isn't quite as much of a douche. And also actually managed to sleep with Electroclash.
For some reason, I also feel like equating Hercules to the Hotness, but that seems like kind of a stretch and/or insult to Herc. Also, if they'd have actually met, Nathan Young would make an excellent replacement for Jackrabbit, the sidekick she had to look after/get into hijinks with during her first bout of community service.

- Gunn: I'm kind of thinking Warren? Guy friend who Wes sort of has his own special language with, that kind of thing.
- Cordelia: Kennedy, kind of, in the whole sassy, totes-willing-to-cut-him-down-but-still-pretty-close kind of way.
- Fred: Kind of Katniss in some ways, like how he's seen her badly hurt and is on a whole protecting-her kick even if she's actually pretty capable.
- Lilah: Someone Wesley doesn't exactly trust, per se, but still doesn't mind bantering with and being around? I kind of want to say Loki. Except for the sex part. Sorry, Loki.
- Lorne: Maybe Tara. They're both really kind and have sort of similar powers and they can sing. I say yes.
- Angel: This one feels a little silly too, but Susan. Quiet, powered, well-read and intellectually engaging. Yep. Even if Susan would have no patience for Angel's antics.

Kelly Bailey → Ramona Flowers. It's easier to make out what Ramona's saying, but they're both tough, strong chicks who also have vulnerable sides and look out for Simon. And have affection for Nathan as well.
I don't know, I guess Mercy and Kenzi kinda-sorta go in the Kelly category as well, for being girls he's friends with but not looking to get involved with. Alisha is Alisha, I can't really pin down a substitute for Curtis, and pretty much everyone else seems to be a villain.

Thalia Grace → Kate Gregson Because she fits in with the best friend role lightly and if there were a fandom I'm sure people would post couple graphics under their tags to show that they're OTP but I'm sitting there like "NO THEY'RE FRIENDS AND HE BELONGS WITH PERCY, GET OUT OF MY TAG". But Luke's sure she won't run off to be a lesbian with Artemis's archers.
Annabeth Chase → Katniss Everdeen She fits in with the "I must take care of youuuuu" thing. Only Katniss isn't as whiny.
Hermes → Anakin Skywalker Only Anakin is much more supportive. Also I supposed Loki would fit under here because of the obvious, though he annoys Luke in an Apollo sort of way as well.
May Castellan → Tara Gregson Come on now.
Oh and you know what? In the whole "Someone Luke barely knows but has to admit they're kind of a badass" sort of thing, Peeta Mellark would totally be Rachel Elizabeth Dare. THEY BOTH LIKE ART, OKAY.

Because that makes everything better, sure.

Caroline Farrell: Easy, Ender Wiggin. The moral warrior who spends all of canon trying to get people to do something about the giant morally appalling elephant in the room called the Dollhouse. Ender's big with the morality and trying to help Topher to understand this stuff, so there you go.
Bennett Halverson: Tony Stark. Topher's sole canon crush, who's a little smarter than he is (or a lot) and who he clings to like a very very clingy thing. Hi, Tony.
Adelle DeWitt: Peter Wiggin. If we're talking plot, then there's zero similarity because Peter would totes be the opposite of her if he was actually tossed into the Dollhouse setting, but in terms of personality, they're both aloof and kind of suave and the few people around who Topher's actively trying to impress. So, that.
Boyd Langton: Ben Skywalker. Kind of morally judgmental of the stuff he does, but still one of the few "friendships" canon!Topher gets. Please ignore the second-to-last episode where Boyd is completely freaking batshit, and focus on the heavy banter they enjoy right up until that. La.
Paul Ballard: Maybe Ramona Flowers, because she really got on his nerves but they kind of had a rapport going at the same time. Woo.
Ivy: I didn't have someone for this until I thought of Billy Kaplan and it clicked in some ways but didn't really in others. In canon, Ivy's kind of the person Topher gets to chill with, even if it's largely bossing her around and getting her to get him juice boxes (not super Billy). But he also sends her off to save her life in the last episode because they're kind of besties (kind of Billy!). So, there you go.
Special mention for Victor/Sierra, the only real ship in this canon, which Topher doesn't really understand on a lot of levels but he spends a lot of time eyeing them and trying to figure them out. That, of course, is Bender. La.

Ramona Flowers → Annie Edison. LOL IDEK. Annie's the only one I could think of that had some kind of rivalry/animosity thing going on with her.
Gideon Graves → Peter Wiggin. Aloof but charismatic people with big plans, and perhaps kind of a soft spot for Natalie but ultimately not really, even if the reasons are different.
no subject
Tara Gregson → Alice Liddell. But only in the "batshit crazy lady I care lots and lots about regardless" way.
Marshall Gregson → John Mitchell, Jack Priest, & Luke Castellan. All of these guys get to go here because in canon, Kate has no friends. Besides Moosh. And these boyos are all her bros, for better and for worse.
Ray the airport dude → Eric Northman. Because there's some decent banter, but they're not what you'd call close and have never been. (Except alternate universes)
And then some alters, for teh lulz. This is mostly a personality thing, and not about how Kate relates to these people, obviously.
Buck → Puck. Easygoing dudes with an eye for the ladies!
T → Nathan Young. Trouble and crazy ideas!
Shoshana → Leto Atreides II. Annoyingly wise words!
Bryce → vampire!Hannibal King. Terrifying!

Lauren Zizes --> Kenzi. Girls who Quinn fundamentally does not get, and who will take advantage of that.
Santana Lopez --> Rebecca Logan. The one whose bitchiness goes a little too far even for Quinn. Most likely to pull hair and get fake boobs, too.
Puck --> Puck, obviously. EASIEST ANSWER EVER.
Rachel Berry --> Annie Edison. There's a rivalry, but at the end of the day -- sometimes at the very, very end of the day -- Quinn will admit both of their hearts are in the right place. Even if she distrusts the perkiness.
Sam Evans --> Bruce Wayne. This is another huge stretch. But in terms of being a good guy who Quinn trusts, and there's some attraction there, but the timing ain't right for more? Yeah, it's there.
Sue Sylvester --> Emma Frost. In terms of being a role model who perhaps shouldn't be.
Mercedes Jones --> Claudia Donovan. Obviously not at all alike in terms of personality, but they're both girls Quinn can stand to live with who don't do a ton of judging of her.
There is no good Brittany analog on the island. Woe. Maybe Nathan Young comes closest in terms of "did s/he really just say ... Okay. MOVING ON." value.

The most influential people in Dany's life, who are both actually dead, don't have Fandom counterparts -- Viserys and Drogo. Which is both good and bad, because thank GOD we don't have anyone as awful as Viserys, and there really isn't anyone like Drogo. At least, not that Dany knows.
But.
Irri → Rilla Blythe. Dany's sweet, soft-spoken handmaid, who's fiercely loyal and holds her khaleesi's secrets close -- Rilla's really the closest here. She's one of two people on the island who knows about the baby, as well as Dany's particular talents, and like Irri, Rilla has a lot of hidden strength. And maybe there'll eventually be lesbian sexytimes between Rilla and Da -- yeah, okay, maybe not.
Doreah → Petra West. I don't care if I'm basing this off of TV canon rather than book canon, and I don't care if there's weird sexy vibes with her and Dany, and I don't care if she has to sleep with Viserys -- girl is fierce, and proud, and really doesn't seem to take a lot of shit, despite her station. And the same could be said for Petra, who's had her own fair share of trials.
Ser Jorah Mormont → Chuck Bartowski. Now, calm thyselves, because I don't ship Jorah/Dany like at all because gross. But Jorah treats Dany like they live in Westeros and he's her knight, still, and has always been deferential and kind to her. He recognized what kind of person she was from the start, and he's someone she trusts because he usually doesn't belittle her, and that's why she likes Chuck, too. Now, you have to ignore the whole "selling her out so he can go home" aspect and the fact that he's old enough to be her grandfather, buuut no one said it was a perfect comparison.
Lord Varys → Lucrezia Borgia and Loki. Dany hasn't met Varys yet, but he's over in Westeros plotting Targaryen-flavored plots all the same. Varys serves the realm, but never shows his whole hand. And he will do whatever that means. Lucrezia and Loki are both people who Dany would feel lucky to count as part of her khalasar, but she wouldn't want to hear about how they accomplished the things she asked for, and she would trust both of them to withold information as they saw fit.
(Yes, I did just edit a meme response two days later because I realize I phrased something weirdly/poorly. Shut up.)

Oz Bey --> Sam LaCroix. So Sam's nowhere near as goofy as Oz, but he's definitely the guy who's always got Toby's back... and isn't afraid to tease him when he needs it.
Ray Mercer --> Raven. She's done the most to guide him when it comes to trying to work with his ability, so. She gets the mentor-type slot.
Michelle McCluskey --> Stephanie Brown. Kickass crimefighter friend?
Who may or may not make use of Toby's ability if/when she ever finds out. So goes here. Was tempted to put Bo here, mostly for the meta-hilarity. But for that they'd need to meet at a time when they're not both, like, six.George Ryder --> Zayne Carrick. Okay, Zayne's not nearly as hard-assed as Ryder, but he gave Toby a job because he could see he needed that more than he needed to get into more trouble, and at the end of the day Ryder's all about looking after the people he's responsible for.
Dev Clark --> Kenzi. Yes, again. And also not a perfect fit. Dev's a former black-hat now on the side of good, whereas Kenzi's, well. Kenzi's on Kenzi's side. But so is Toby, so that works out ;)

Scott Summers --> Scott Summers. Also duh. Also Bobby needs to
pesterhang out with him outside of school more.Emma Frost --> LOOK DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY IT. Obviously Emma.
Hercules --> Oh just friggin' guess.
Loki --> ...shut up.
Hank McCoy --> Tony Stark. OKAY SO IT'S STILL A MARVEL CHARACTER BUT HEY AT LEAST HE'S NOT A DIRECT COUNTERPART. Genius-type friend who sometimes needs to get dragged out of his lab before he turns into a mole-person? Yeah.
Jean Grey --> Kate Gregson. Older sister type who's lived with him and hasn't given in to the urge to kill him in his sleep? Check.
Cloud --> Raven. Sooo not a perfect fit, because Raven's not a sentient nebula and Bobby doesn't have a crush on her. But they've both got that kind of naïve niceness about them which makes Bobby feel oddly protective and like he's kinda got some responsibility to help them fit in (in Raven's case, by constantly teasing her.).
Natasha Romanova/Black Widow --> Stephanie Brown/Robin. Kind of a stretch, since Steph was never on the bad guy's side (although she WAS raised by one). But mysterious crime-fighter type that Bobby/Iceman counts as an ally and knows he can trust and yet... doesn't really know that much about? Yeah.
Sookie doesn't fit anywhere because unlike all his canon relationships ever, the one with Sookie didn't turn out to be a complete and utter disaster. Also I could probably keep going forever because there are a lot of Marvelverse characters who I could find parallels with Fandom ones, but I should probably stop before I'm in danger of hitting the max-character count for this comment.

Cappie: Matt Murdock, a little? For being kind of completely unimpressive (sorry, Matt) but still hot enough for her to sleep with. And if she remotely likes him, she is saying NOTHING.
Evan Chambers: Peter Wiggin, the vaguely aloof, politically-minded hotass. Sound familiar?
Ashleigh Howard: Stacey McGill, even if they haven't done much bonding yet. Rebecca's not always really one for girl talk, but the closest she's come to it so far has been with Stacey. So.
Rusty Cartwright: Rilla Blythe, in the sense of how she's sort of a nerd (by Becs' standards) and Rebecca has ALL THE SIGH for her, but deep down she's kind of fond of her. Er, very deep down.

Congratulations, you're not a collection of psychopathic murderers with themes based on your form of insanity!

Fargo -> Topher. Though Fargo is just socially awkward while Topher is... Topher.
Zoe Carter -> Annie Edison. Or at least the nicer side of Zoe. Like the season three/four version.
Zoe Carter -> Sam Puckett. The town delinquent version of Zoe. season one version.
Zane Donovan -> Claudia Donovan. No relation. However they both have the snarky computer genius vibe.

So I guess he even wins there. Sorry.
*gives Zoe a Batgirl costume?*

Matthew Brock --> Topher Brink: Annoying as hell, aggressive weird,
cat personyet Dave can't quite take himself away by firing Matthew or signing up for a new dorm room.Nancy --> Miley Stewart: Look, Dave only dates two people over the course of the show. And Miley's less a supremely ambitious but also tightly wound bundle of neuroses who he can't stop sexing up at all times. She's the mostly nice and moderately insane girl.
Bill McNeal --> Sam Puckett: They're both people who recognize their own amazingness above the amazingness of others, and to whom things like "facts" have no real purpose. It's a beautiful day for Sam to have a cane.
Andrea --> Annie Edison: Lauren Graham's very perky, organized, character who just loves her friends. Annie would have fired Matthew, too.
Johnny Johnson --> Jamie Madrox: I almost made Jamie into Jimmy, but Dave probably views Jamie in more of a negative light than he does with Jimmy. Therefore, Johnny! Congratulations, Puddy.

Squall -> Duh.
Rinoa -> Duh.

Selphie -> Kenzie!
