MEME: Reverse Questions - With a Twist

This is the only day this week I can be sure I have even the slightest bit of brain for a meme, and this is one we haven't done since July 2010, so it seems like high time to revisit it.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

Questions might include "Which of your characters are you the most like?", "Which BDE was your favorite?", "What music do you RP to?", etc.

And since most of you are barely even awake yet, I'll get us started with some questions I thought up (or, in some cases, stole from last time, shhh) earlier!

This is SO HARD. Rilla's out early, of course, and Luke, while canonically awesome in Ben's time, is still a bit of a doofus in mine. It comes down to Anakin and Eric, who are both badass cheaters, and Mat, who can manipulate the odds.

I think Mat wins.

Josh, but I don't play him any more, woe. I'm not a super-powered jackass with daddy issues, so that eliminates....pretty much all of my other kids.

Do you make character/pairing/game playlists?

Not as often as I used to, but yes, I still make playlists. I still listen to my Rory/Anakin set from 2006. Shhh.

All your characters have to go on a road trip together. Who's doing what?

(Ie. Who gets to drive, who wants to be the official road trip DJ, who insists on hanging their head out the window like a dog…)

Anakin's driving way too fast, Rilla's telling him he's going the wrong way, Ben's taken the iPod apart to make it play louder, Cade's in the back counting up how many bags of potato chips he stole at the last rest stop, Mat's playing car games (and is kicking ass at license plates. He's the only guy who ever sees a Hawaiian plate on the mainland), Luke's trying to convince everyone to stop at the next tourist trap (Anakin won't because he's trying to set a landspeed record in getting wherever), and Eric's in the trunk so he won't burst into flames :)

How much do you stalk other people's threads?

Which one of your characters has the healthiest lifestyle?

Ben's obsessed with exercise, so I'd say him, with Anakin coming in second (as he is vain and wants to look good naked). Rilla would run only when chased, Luke exercises but not to extremes, and Cade and Mat like drinking/drugs too much to be all that healthy.

And Eric eats people.

We've previously done a meme on the character-defining moments in canon, but can you name any particular IG moments for your characters that really define who they are?

Ben's easy: when he left his lightsaber in the Temple's floor and decided to make his own path. It takes him out of the GFFA and the assorted idiocy writers keep throwing at him and I was terrified of writing that, as well as the confrontation with Luke about how he wouldn't be going home after graduation. I didn't want it to seem like he was running off from his responsibilities at home, or cast Luke as the villain, or make it seem like it was all for the Ben/Ender ship or *flails*--

There was a lot of flailing.

How much attention do you pay to the careers of your PBs (not at all, for iconing purposes, just out of general fannishness, whatever)?

It kind of depends? I watch Ben and Rilla's PBs fairly closely because the characters are still growing up and if they do new movies/TV/whatever, I might be able to find new icons. I only want to use ASkars as Eric in icons (except for SOW or AU weekend for the laughs), so I just watch for new season icons to see if he is not wearing a tracksuit or has invested in a good haircut or a new blue sweater. Anakin's kind of stuck in time with Episode III Jesus hair, Cade's PB can look too old for high school in most of his latest stuff, and I get lazy with my older alums when it comes to updating their icons.

What's the most emotional thread you've ever done?

There have been a couple: I still go back and reread (for I am vaaaain) the Luke-Anakin end to Episode VI. I worked on that for months to get it right. In terms of IG-liveplay-no-idea-where-this-might-go emotions, Anakin's goodbye threads when he was leaving the island as a student were really hard. Ben's break-up with Tahiri was tough, as was his "yeah, Jacen's going to go dark no matter what he does" breakdown last summer.

I think that one is one of my favorites, really. It was a fun blend of tweaking canon and adding it to Fandom's timeline wackiness that smacked him good and hard in the gut.

How do you go about picking a PB? Or do you only app people who come with faces already attached?

...that sounds kind of gross. Sorry.

Sparkle is actually the first kid I've ever had to pick a PB for! And mostly it involved flailing and rummaging through icon blogs until I found a boy with black hair and eyes that could pass off as green, who looked a bit like a punk who didn't give a crap about anyone but himself.

Lou Pucci is about as close as I got, and he's still a little off. Sparkle is prone to fits of mad laughter and a bit more generic goofing off than Saint Jimmy in Jesus of Suburbia is, but for the most part I'm satisfied.

Which character gives you the most bleed? How do you handle it?

Bleed isn't something I generally have a problem with, since I enjoy dragging my boys to hell and back, and I do it with a wicked grin on my face and what might or might not be a little whip in my hands as I make them dance for my amusement.

But I can see Evan getting bleedy on me, if only because doing mean things to him would be like kicking a puppy. Hard. Repeatedly. And when that happens, it'll mostly just be a 'I need some quiet time for this punch in the guts now, if you don't mind,' sort of deal.

Oh, man. The Stone Angels BDE will forever hold a place in my heart as the one that scared the shit out of me.

But I think I might have to go with Wishverse, for all the vampire crazy ever. I enjoy the AU stomping grounds way too much.

Is there a character you're finding challenging right now and why?

Sparkle, actually. For all that he's my most active kid right now, he's a very, very dynamic character in canon, and I worry that he's not crazying it up enough, or screwing with the people around him enough, or making bad decisions enough, or...

I figure a lot of that will fade as I play him more, so he gets thrown about like a spike-haired ragdoll.

Which two of your characters are most likely to be a couple. Or, depending on your characters, which pairing would be LEAST IMPOSSIBLE to get together?

If Wes went for guys and Alec was a bit older, then them two, maybe? Any other combination just makes my brain hurt, but Wes and Alec as a demon-ass-kicking dork duo might work.

Have you had any apps that were just really easy to write? On the flip side, any that you really had to labor over, more than usual, but they turned out good enough to get the character into the game?

Writing Jono's student app, back in the day, was that for me. It was all big and intimidating, apping into one of the canons where there was already a huge number of canonmates, and so I kept going back and flailing and revising and fixing and deleting and re-writing...

It's a wonder I got the app in at all, really.

Oooh, I like this question. I'd like to be sort of effortlessly smart like Topher, but capable of April's cool deadpan that I'm generally way too awkward to attain.

Is there a personal plot you've done that you're really proud of?

I'm pretty proud of going through all 5 PJO books for Luke in a little over a year.

And I'll be proud when I'm done doing s2 of Teen Wolf for Stiles if only because transcribing these episodes is a pain in the ASS.

This one from my first time as Umbridge is still something I'm supremely proud of and it was so much fun to play too.

Xander/Bridge and Francine/Katchoo; there's no choosing between the two.

Other people's ships... um. Arthur/Merlin but that's kind of intimately tied in to Francine/Katchoo. Bender, John/Aeryn, Tara/Kennedy. Marty/Angela 4eva!
