Like I just said on Twitter, it's a weekday and I have LJ access so OBVIOUSLY, MEME. Here's one we last did in February, but it's one of my faves.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

What generally draws you to play the characters you choose to play? (Personalities, their canon interests you, etc.?)

Pretty much always the personality, for me, tempered by feasibility of playing them well.

Sam's sort of an exception: not_a_whiner was trying to get me to app into Mass Effect for aaages and I sort of wanted to but all I knew was that I didn't want to app Mordin (my very favorite Mass Effect character) because I thought he'd be too hard, so I kept saying no. And then one day I think Len was spamming either Twitter or Tumblr with praise of Sam Traynor, and it suddenly hit me, like, YES THIS IS IT THIS IS THE ONE.

And then I emailed her to say this and I think there was a lot of squee.

In all your time in the game, who has been your favorite character to play?

All your characters get stuck in an elevator. What happens?

Topher heads over to the elevator console to try to fix it while sniping at everyone else about how useless they are in this situation. Gert threatens to sic Old Lace on him. Alec stands sullenly in the corner making disapproving faces at everyone else, April flicks stuff at him to try to get him to react, Sam tries to discourage April from doing that, and finally Bruce lets himself Hulk out and punches their way through because if he didn't do it on purpose, he was probs gonna wind up stress-Hulking out anyway.

Jono will, by far and forever, be my easiest boy to play.

Evan, on the other end of the spectrum, is still tricky for me sometimes. He's just so squishy-faced and earnest. But beyond that, it's hard to nudge him into getting out to socialize. He'd much rather spend all of his time on the island in his room, reading, and never see the light of day again.

How much do you stress about getting tiny character details right sometimes? Because god knows that's my default state.

So, Marvel went and told me exactly what part of London Jono came from, this week. Since then, I've been freaking out and trying to learn everything I possibly can about the area, in spite of the fact that he's probably never going back there.

You should've seen the way I went pale as a sheet when book two of Nikolai's canon Jossed me on his last name a few days after I submitted the damn app. That's literally all it changed about anything. But aaaaah, naaaame. The very same day, I was pretty much taking notes about the airport in Toronto because if that's all of the exposure to Sparkle's hometown I'm gonna get, I wanna get it right.

So, yes, stress is pretty much my default state, too.

Do you "fix" canon?

Let's see, Tahiri got the emotional closure she never got in canon and if she ever turns Sith later on is not going to do it for the same character-assassinatey reasons she did in canon, the horrible fridgey War Games arc is never happening for Stephanie, I sidestepped a lot of WTFy canon elements for Katchoo, Éponine got to live . . .

What, noooooooooooo, I don't try to canon-fix at all, ever. Really. Nooooooooooooooo.

In the whole game? I'd like to spend a day as Tony, just because being that smart would be a really cool experience, and plus I'd love to try out the hero thing.

Of my own characters, uh, all their lives are pretty shitty, but I guess I have to go with Gert. Because dinosaur.

Nope, definitely could not. I'm not that Type A, but I'm way too Type A to put up with stuff invading all the time that might kill me, and I would never ever believe the "oh we always all wind up okay, so don't worry that we're in a certain-death situation right now!" stuff that characters can depend on during BDEs.
