OOC: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, FANDOM!!! Have a Random Event!

HAPPY 8TH ANNIVERSARY, FANDOM!!!!

If our game was a kid, it would be a third grader. Jeez.

In honor of this auspicious day, gremlins can be spotted around the island wearing party hats and cakes will be popping up all over (but especially on chairs, so careful where your character sits...)! Some will even be left out in the rain, where we'll never have that recipe again, oh nooooooo.

Shut up, Macarthur Park jokes are always hilarious.

I just made the mistake of trying to figure out just what percentage of my life I've been a member of this game. It'll be my eight years in the spring, so, barring the fact that I can't do simple math to save my life- A quarter of my life. I've been in this game for a quarter of my life what is that holy crap how.

I HAVE SPENT A QUARTER OF MY LIFE IN FAKE HIGH SCHOOL.

I remember back in fall 2005, I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] mparkerceo and was like, "How long do these things probably go? I hope we make it to graduation."

And now it's eight years later and the kids we started with would all be out of college, and somehow I'm almost 35 and have two kids, and wow. I never thought I would waste this much time in such a good way.

Ahahah oh man, yes. Since my only previous experience of it was of it lasting about six months. Unless you counted FK Wars, which were just a semi-annual thing that lasted two weeks at a time.

I was still in school back then, aaaand now disturbingly enough, half-way through my twenties and pretending to be a Real Adult.

To be sentimental for a moment, in addition to the years of having fun with various characters, I gotta thank the players here for being there for me personally when my life took a shitty turn every now and then.

From losing my job to losing my beloved kitty to the serious financial issues that I had last year, I could always count on you guys being amazing. It still makes me cry to think of the collection people got together to help me take my kitty to the vet before she eventually passed and just the love and hugs I got afterward.

So, you guys are great to play with but you guys are even better people to be friends with. Thanks.
