Shanie voted, so this is the meme we get to do today! Plus we haven't done it since July and I'm lacking in work.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

So far as characters you prefer to play... Have you got a type?

At the moment it seems to be 19th-century French girls, but -- maybe overall it tends to be female characters with some contrasting aspects to their personalities, if I want to go for broad generalization.

Who's your most difficult character to play?

Out of my current active two it's actually a pretty even split. This girl here is constantly a challenge, but I'm still trying to find my footing with Cosette, and that's trickier in some ways because Victor Hugo seriously half-assed it when it came to her characterization UGH SHE IS SO INTERESTING WHY DID YOU HAVE TO RELEGATE HER TO BEING MORE OR LESS A PAWN FOR THE MALE PROTAGONISTS IN HER LIFE VICTOR WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Which dropped character of yours do you miss the most?

I'd pick this boy up again in an instant if there was some way to work him back into the game.

Do you have a system for choosing PB's?

[myownface]

I can never really find anyone who's perfect, not the way I see them in my mind's eye. Normally I just pick things that are important - a fashion sensibility, hair colour, eye colour, race - and try to narrow it down from there.

And then inevitably someone will say something and I'll realize a few months down the road that one of Len's PBs would work perfectly instead of who I chose, and kick myself for the rest of my life. (This has happened twice now. I'm still contemplating PB-swapping Nikolai to Aidan Turner, but we'll see.)

Do you have any almost completed apps that you just never got around to apping?

I have a small stash of them, including but not limited to Audrey Two from Little Shop of Horrors, Matrix from ReBoot, Huckleberry Finn, and Tseng from Final Fantasy VII.

Someday, I might even send some of them!

If you could hang out with one character throughout FH history, who would it be?

I was all set to be all "Only one from the entire course of FH history, are you kidding me?" but halfway through the thought my brain went "Jamie Maddrox".

What first draws you to the idea of playing a character?

When I catch myself posing all kinds of hypothetical situations and wondering what they'd do in those situations, I think, if that makes sense.

What do you do when you get writer's block?

Cry. Complain. Force myself to write/play something, anything. Once I can do that, it gets better.

Do you have a system for how you write personal plots?

Outlines. Transcripts. Calendars. E-mailing people constantly about my plans. Pre-playing months in advance. So much color coding.

I'm psychotic is what I'm saying.

Do your characters give you bleed? Which ones and how bad?

I've had some bleed with Alec a few times. Sometimes he'll get into an argument and I'll half-agree with his side, but I never want to have him argue his point the way I would in the same situation. It can be kind of frustrating, but not too bad.

If you could come up with a dream team of your favorite characters to play ever, who would be on it?

I would not have apped Audrey, who turned out to be an unplayable character thanks to a huge-ass Jossing.

I miss her icons, though.

Is there a specific location where you get most of your playing done? (Work, Starbucks, desk, etc.?)

At work or sitting on my sofa. Or, at the restaurant before TAH on my phone.

Do you prefer to pre-plan your ships with other people, just let them develop naturally, or some mix of the two?

Let them develop naturally. Attempts at planning anything have ended badly, so now the closest I get is letting someone know if a ship has to end at some point for canon reasons or whatever.

That is, again, a pretty even split between Cosette and Éponine in a weird patchworky kind of way.

I enjoy how this answer changes every time depending on my current character mix.

How do you choose which classes to teach?

Pretty much whatever seems like it would be fun or interesting and wouldn't kill me to toss together/research around my availability each semester. I often find myself going, "CRAP," right near deadline, and pulling something out of my butt that I think I can pull off.
