One More BDE Info Post...
Hullo, Fandom!
Before we move on to the last announcement we've got until the start of the BDE week on March 24th, I'd like to sum up everything that came up in the questions section last post.
Phase three
We have one last announcement to make about events leading up to the BDE week in late March. This one won't start until mid-March, but because there's a lot of pre-planning involved, we're tossing this up now.
As the rips across Fandom begin to widen around March 16th, things will start to come through permanently - starting with people. People from where? Well, people from different eras of Fandom, of course! Fandom Island's been around the block over the past few thousand years, picking up strays wherever she's gone.
What does that mean?
It means that starting March 17th, NPCs will start appearing in Fandom, confused and disoriented and trying to get home. These NPCs are people you can apply to play. Who will they be? Well, that's up to you, too! To a point; our wayward time-displaced Fandomites can hail from one of three eras:
However, that doesn't mean the apped characters need to hail from that exact era! Much like current-day Fandom, Fandoms past and future will have picked up any number of people from any number of places in history. For instance, you could play an Indiana Jones who got trapped in Roman Empire-era Fandom for x amount of time, or a Spartacus who's spent a year living under a different kind of jackboot in the 2050's.
Players who would like to reprise a version of a character they've dropped in the past are welcome to do so. If you want to play a character who had a previous version in our Fandom but was either not played by you, or who's been played by others as well as you, that's cool too. However in that case, we'd like you to check with any previous/other players of that character who are still in the game, to make sure they don't have similar plans. If all is good there, go for it!
If you choose to reprise a character, keep in mind they won't be the exact same character as they were in modern Fandom - this will be an alternate version who upon leaving their canon, wound up in one of the other Fandoms instead of ours.
Okay, I'd like to app, but what are these places like?
That's why we're putting this up so early in advance - we'd like players to be able to take some time to figure this out themselves. At the start of March, we'll post brainstorming posts with a short description of the general background of each of these Fandoms, provided each gets at least two applications. We'll offer an OOC brainstorming post for hashing out details and plans, and an IC brainstorming post for anyone to play their new characters in, setting up their last few weeks before being transported onto Fandom.
Anything else?
NPCs apped for this plot will vanish at the end of the BDE on March 30th, returning to their own eras. They will be remembered by everybody on current-day Fandom.
Applications are due March 3rd, midnight PST.
Any questions? Comments? They'll be unscreened.
Before we move on to the last announcement we've got until the start of the BDE week on March 24th, I'd like to sum up everything that came up in the questions section last post.
- When is the final BDE week? March 24th through March 30th.
- Can we start AUing our characters now without announcing or admin permission? Unless you plan to give your character a power or have other changes you're not too sure about, you're free to start AUing as of this past Monday, no permission nor announcement necessary! Otherwise, please let us know in the post linked above and we'll get back to you via email.
- What changes are considered 'feasible'? Any change that could have conceivably happened in your character's arc to date, which means canon plus their time at Fandom. This also means characters from non-powered fandoms can get powers via an AU that has them picking up powers in another Fandomite's universe. Their memories will have been changed accordingly.
- When do we have to hop aboard to AU our characters? You can AU your character up until the last day of the final BDE week.
- Can my character go through several AUs? Yes! Just as long as part of them remains AUed. Your characters cannot go back to their old selves until after the BDE.
- Will January's voices from the past continue to appear? Yes. Voices and visions won't stop happening until the end of the BDE week.
- Will the character's home world change to fit the new AU? Yes.
- Will the character think they're supposed to be on Fandom? Yes. The human mind is a flexible thing, and new memories will be created to fill any gaps between the change in their background and the present.
- How are the class requirements handled? If a character has been AUed to the point where they can no longer attend class, the requirements are waived. If a teacher is AUed to the point where they can no longer teach class, however, you will have to find a sub.

- 2050's dystopian dictatorship Fandom: A dictator rules the USA, one of his lieutenants rules Fandom, the school is still active but its educational diet is propaganda...
- 1400's Medieval German free town Fandom: Fandom is a small town in relative squalor and freedom. Monks occupy the castle, taking in youths and small-time criminals for education.
- 100's Roman fortress Fandom: Fandom lies in the Mediterranean. It's part of the Roman Empire. The school and the dorms are barracks and training grounds for the young.

Re: Questions?
Do we need to hit up everyone from a certain canon if we want to app a character from that canon? And what if it's from an Alternate Universe canon like, for example, the Ultimate Marvel Universe? Would a person need to check with all Marvel players before doing that, or just maybe the ones connected to him?
And what if everyone should just assume that a player is going to app from that canon because, let's be honest, it was that, Star Wars, or Batman cartoons?
Hypothetically.
