Meme: Headcanon!
Yes. We had a meme yesterday. (Erin beat me to the posting) And yes we did a Fandom headcanon of sorts not too long ago. But on XKCD yesterday this happened:

So therefore? Headcanon Meme!
Even the most obsessive of canons (yes, Star Wars, I'm looking at you) leaves some gaps in information as you play a character. But canon also provides some truly random factoids. So today's meme:
Provide us five bits of things you totally made up headcanon for your character, as well as five things that are, sadly, canon but could sound like you made them up.
Bonus points if you go over five!
Technically this one was last done in January so we should have plenty of new characters to take part in this, right?
And yes, Barry probably does have a cannon that can fit under his hat.

no subject
1. He loves Fandom's stairs. In his grumpy, Eliot way.
2. He's secretly thrilled that he might get the chance to learn the proper way to fight off a vampire or a werewolf or a pink pony.
3. He's actually pretty torn on whether or not to show Fandom to Parker and Hardison. On the one hand, he'd love to see their reactions -- Hardison's head would explode in that non-literally, entertaining way -- on the other, he's pretty sure they would both get their asses killed, and it's pretty nice to have a space away from the team when he needs to go to ground to protect his big bad killer image.
4. Every morning when he gets up, he has an argument with himself as to whether or not he should get in touch with one of his contacts and have Damien Moreau killed in his San Lorenzo prison.
5. He's trying to keep the fact that he's on the East Coast a secret from his buddy Vance, because otherwise he'll get constant calls to join the secret operations Vance runs in the name of national security.
Actual canon
1. He trained as a chef in order to learn how to deal with the PTSD and identity crisis issues he got from doing wetwork and black ops for the US government and -- others.
2. He's not out for redemption. He knows it's too late for that, for him. He does what he does not to try to make up for the terrible things he's done, but just to make sure that other people don't have to do terrible things, or have them done to them. (This is alluded to in canon, and stated in commentary on the DVDs.)
3. He's a good listener, and picks up on lots of random facts about various careers just by dating someone who works in them. It's possible this is because you never know when you're going to need to fight a flight attendant or a nurse, but it's probably just because he likes knowing things.
4. He's much, much smarter than most people give him credit for. This is because he's carefully crafted the persona of just being a hired thug.
5. He once responded to a break up by liberating Croatia.
