meme: veritaserum

Ask for a questions-type meme and you will get a questions-type meme! We haven't done this one since February, it looks like, so!

Your character has just ingested a large quantity of veritaserum, or "truth potion." Any questions asked of them they have to answer truthfully, whether they want to or not! There's absolutely no way around it.

As usual, nothing is gained from this ICly but it's still fun. Go forth and be honest!

All in one because I'm lazy as hell.

How much of the world have you experienced now, a not-insignificant amount of months after coming here? And how do you feel about that?

Oh, gosh. So much. So much that I never thought I'd see or do.

I've been outside, I've felt grass between my toes, I've dipped my feet in the ocean, I've been to big cities, I've eaten amazing food from other countries that I didn't even know existed, I've ridden in a car, I've used a telephone, I've been to an art museum, I've kissed a boy, I've gotten a kitten (with my roommate -- never thought I'd have one of those!), I've pet a dog, I've found out about other people with powers, I'm teaching someone to read, I've used my hair to heal a friend....

I've made friends. That's the most important thing.

And while sometimes I feel incredibly overwhelmed, because there's so many people around all the time and sometimes I just wish I was safe and quiet in my tower, I wouldn't trade any of that for a lifetime of safety. None of it.

But I do wish I'd made it to see the floating lights, at home. That's my one regret, the one thing I haven't done that I still dream about.

Are you crazy? Like, in a certified way?

...yes, actually. I was institutionalized in college because I was supposedly stalking a guy, but actually he just wasn't paying enough attention to me and it was his stupid fault.

BUT I'M A LOT BETTER NOW.

Would you ever voluntarily go back to your father?

Not if I had the means not to. The only reason I'll return to him after I finish school here is because I'm magically bound to the contract, and he knows the stipulations (and has probably purposely never told me details, in fact.) But if I had the means and the ability to just leave, and never see him again?

In a heartbeat.

So who would you rather hang out with? Pam or Archer?

Re: Cheryl/Carol Tunt

Pam, hands down.

Archer's a good time for a minute, but he doesn't really care about the lady's needs, and he throws my clothes out the window all the time. Pam'll choke me if I get her drunk enough and never throws my clothes out the window. Obvious choice, here.

I really want to go swimming. Which sounds silly, because lots of people go swimming and it's not a big deal and like, that's something little kids get to do and it's no problem.

But my hair would weigh me down to do it too much, now, so either I need to get Barry to make me a swimcap that goes to another dimension, too, or...I need to cut my hair.

Which is a whole other thing I want to do, but that one's pretty much out of the question.

What's been the best and the worst thing about coming to Fandom?

Re: Irene

[identity profile] begmetwice.livejournal.com 2014-10-17 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The best thing is easy: I'm alive. I get to be alive. I was an inch away from death, I'd accepted it, and I was given the gift of a second chance. That's the best part of Fandom. (Getting to use my real name is a luxury I hadn't even considered I'd be allowed, too.)

The worst is that I had to give up everything. And as much as I do like it here, and enjoy the friends I've made and seem to have a knack for teaching (of all things), there's a part of me that misses my friends at home, and my business -- well, the legal parts of it, anyway.

Have you ever thought about, like, cutting your hair but leaving one little section long? Then you could still use it for things, but you could braid it and curl it up on your head, and the rest of it would still be short!

What would you do if you could get out of the contract? How would you like to spend your life?

I'd want to live somewhere quiet, where I only used my magic for convenience -- reaching things, healing minor injuries, mending clothes. The way I use it now. Maybe I'd be a librarian, or an astronomer. Something academic, and without expectation from others.

And if that "somewhere quiet" was Oxford -- well, I've always liked it there.
