meme: do you know my canon?

Apparently we haven't done this since July 2014, and since we have new people with new canons coming in, why not?

Ping in with your canon (as specifically as you'd like for giant insane comic, SW and Power Ranger stuff). Then wait for other people to ping in with their canons! If you're familiar with it, tell them! And then, yay, new people to squee with!

And the stuff that immediately ties in with it, like Kanan: The Last Padawan and A New Dawn.

I watched it because it was newish and I was bored and then it ate my brain, so.

I DO I DO. Just on a bit of delay. Flipping Africa.

Oh no, Africa! How bad is the delay? I can add you to my list of people to flail at, but I don't want to be spoilery either. >.>

About a week later whenever we acquire it on the interwebs cough

*coughcoughcough* That's about the same delay there is for me, too, as a matter of fact.

I have been going back to buy episodes one at a time on Google as I can afford them, though. Because I'm a stinkin' animator and I should know better.

I watched it 'cause I watched ALL OF CLONE WARS and then had to see the first episode of this. And then I didn't like it.

...

And then they announced they'd be doing Malachor and I got sucked the hell into it, augh.

Oh god, the first episode was basically, "so, you know Aladdin? It's that, WITH JEDI." I hated it.

... But I was bored so I kept going, sigh.

It was so so boring. I get the feeling S2 really made a huge improvement.

Which, to be fair, is basically the same for Clone Wars.

Yeah, I'm finding I'm having the same struggle with Clone Wars as I did with the start of Rebels. I'm hell-bent on powering through until the good stuff, though!

The thing about Clone Wars is that it isn't chronological at alllll so you wouldn't miss much if you just skipped onwards to the second half of Season 2. >.>

It's pretty much an anthology series that jumps all over the war with its stories. The only major change is that the second half of S2 starts with Ahsoka slightly more grown up and in a different outfit, but it's not like there's major story threads you're missing if you pick up from there.

That is awesome to hear! I had wondered at first if I had been missing something important while I watched the start of season one, because it's so jumpy-anthology about it. But if that's how it's supposed to be, I think I'm a little better prepared to approach it for another go. Thanks!

I always like looking at the chronological order and laughing.

My suggestion: start with S2 Ep 12, the Mandalore Plot. OBI-WAN AND HIS NOT-GIRLFRIEND. That's where I remember getting sucked into it for the first time.

o.0 That is definitely a chronological order, right there.

I WILL FOLLOW YOUR SUGGESTION, THEN.

I actually watched it first, then went back to Clone Wars because I liked what I saw of Ahsoka and wanted to find out more.

...kinda obvious how that worked out.

That's basically the order I'm taking it in too, and for the same reason. I'm going to start poking at Clone Wars more thoroughly, especially now that I'm on break and Len's given me a better idea of what to make of it!

I'm so weirded out that I apparently saw Clone Wars before all of y'all when I only caught a few episodes when it was running and then mainlined it all in one five-day Netflix sitting the year it ended.

Well, Vader's an important dude. It stands to reason that he's particular about who has him!

The Kanan comic is totally worth taking in- It's started coming out on trade, so you might be able to get your hands on it through the library!

... A New Dawn, also being a book, is probably also available through the library systems. But it's a slight bit more of a time commitment. Obviously.

:D The comics are all in that place they are at, when you want to give 'em a read. There are only the twelve issues to the entire series, so there's not much to catch up on.

<.< I'm glad to enable so.

Not yet. Have to finish Clone Wars first.
