Meme: Answer for an Answer

So, rebelseekspizza pizza was looking for a meme today and we haven't done one yet this year, I obliged. And, unless I breezed past it, this one hasn't been done since October of 2014, I think we're due. Stolen from pasunereveuse, the instructions are:

Tag your character in. Other characters will then comment asking them embarrassingly personal questions, but there's a catch. In exchange for your answer, they have to answer whatever embarrassingly personal question you ask them in return, and it all has to be truthful. Nothing counts IG, per usual.

Now go forth and question! Be sure to come back from time to time to ask questions of other people, too!

It's a focus. Hell, it's a godsend, and I appreciate that you're sitting back and letting me take care of this my way, instead of the artistic, messy, very final way that I'm certain you were hoping for.

I know you'd love it if I did opt to do it your way. I don't quite think I'm ready to dole out the death sentence for something like that. Not when my idea of poetic justice involves a bit more sitting back and watching a man's whole world crumble around him.

You can't deny he has it coming.

Are you disappointed that my way is... the way it is?

In the long run, not at all. I enjoy a long game with subtlety and style, and I'm pleased to see you getting involved in it.

However, in the short run, I was very much looking forward to working together in a more visceral way. I still hope we'll get there someday.

Ha! Oh, hell, Hera. Up until just recently I couldn't even tell you where I'd be in a month. Hopefully still alive, at least. That's the long-term goal. Not dead. I'm a big fan of not dead. Maybe I stick this 'crew' thing out with you. Maybe you make a difference and I make sure the 'fresher is still in working order on the ship and I get out there and chase off mynocks now and again and whatever other crew things you need a guy to do.

As crew.

Look, it's still kind of huge that I'm entertaining the idea that in ten years I'll still be associating with the same person. This is a process.

I'll start the same place - not dead would be good. After that...On good days, I see myself helping clean up the last of the Empire. On bad days, I see myself still fighting it. Either way, I don't see myself giving up.

But for now, I'll go with still alive, and having made some difference. I'm willing to give my life if I have to, but that doesn't mean I want to, and I'd really prefer to live.

And I'd like you still with me.

Dumb luck?

Though I have fought, from time to time. Usually that just gets me into worse trouble. I never really had anyone to teach me. Hell, up until my first time on the streets I mostly just kept my head down and hoped nobody looked my way. And then things got hard, and things got ugly, and I learned how to throw a bunch, or to fight dirty and kick low and bite hard if that was what it took.

I am learning how to actually fight, now. Atton made sure I picked up a few things, and Leto's given me some really nice knives, and I can shoot, if it's really important.

How are you finding class? Is there anything in it that's actually useful to you?

It's very useful! I've learned about how cities work, and people in them. I already knew how to survive, but now I know how to adapt that to a city.
