BDE: Into The Woods

Hello, Fandom!

Time goes fast, doesn't it? It definitely feels that way, because your summer BDE will be happening from Friday, August 10th through Sunday, August 12th! Specifically, the afternoon of Friday, August 10th, when the unexplored wooded area will be cloaked in shadow, impenetrable, and draw to it unwitting Fandomites...

Yep, some of you are getting lost in the woods! On Friday Afternoon, Saturday Morning and Sunday Morning, a spell will come over various Fandomites that will drive them to walk into the woods. There, they'll become trapped, sapped of powers, with the ghosts of sins past that roam in the dark. OooooOOOooooooh...

Well... ghosts of sins past...

Specifically, they'll come face to face with the ghostly reenactments of terrible things seen by inanimate objects (anything that can be reasonably anthropomorphised) in their lives before Fandom: that whale-headed coatrack in the hall of your childhood home, perhaps, or that one plush toy you had when you were ten that just didn't seem right... ... effigies of which are also roaming the woods, attacking people left and right. ETA: Or as I put it later today, "... basically objects are taking your characters to account through ghostly apparitions/replays and attacks by giant versions of those objects, and what crimes they're upset about and how they do that is otherwise up to you."

In order to save their friends, the rest of Fandom must band together, find their way into the forest, and defeat the evil that lies within the woods.

For anyone who wants to get stuck without their powers in a creepy forest full of malevolent shades of their past and aggressive, monster-sized versions of that weird wooden deer figurine their dad liked to keep in the pantry for some reason. Anyone who signs up here will be hypnotized by the woods on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and then snap out of it once they cross the shadow barrier. The only powers they'll have at their disposal is what their baseline species grants them.

On Sunday Morning, a team will breach the shadow barrier and, in doing so, break the spell that keeps people powerless - but not the spell that keeps the shadow barrier going. They'll find themselves scattered, but facing the ultimate evil at the heart of the woods along with everyone else.

Note: This will not be preplayed, except for one lucky individual, who'll get RNGed to deliver the final blow. For everyone else, it'll be a free-for-all in the woods any Strike Team member can ping into at their leisure. Let us know if you want to be thrown into the RNG pool for this!
