Meme: More Than Meets the Eye
Hi, please help distract me from what is going to be an irritating work day with a meme we haven't done since December of 2017, apparently, and was suggested by firstofitskind.
I know how geeky we can get about this kind of thing, so go wild!
firstofitskind.There are certain characteristics about the people we play that *we* know, but we get tired of repeating in every introductory ping. There's also stuff that players wouldn't really be able to figure out just looking at an icon--how tall someone is, if they have an accent, what kind of clothes they are wearing...and in some cases, if their eyes/hair/whatever are different than the PB we've picked.
So wax poetic about what your characters look/sound like, if they have tics or scars, if they have a distinct singing voice, etc!
I know how geeky we can get about this kind of thing, so go wild!
Astrid Magnussen
I really need to start playing up her height a bit more, especially as this is about the time she starts really hitting her growth spurts on her way to being awkwardly taller than everyone around her, including her mother, which just feels so weird to her.
She dresses down most of the time, in ill-fitting jeans and t-shirts, hand-me-downs from her mother that fit her poorly because Ingrid never really bothered to pay much attention to Astrid growing out of clothes, and Astrid felt bad for asking about things like new shoes or shirts. Up until the foster family she lived with before coming to Fandom, the only pair of shoes she had that fit her anymore was a pair of flip-flops and she didn't even have a bra. But she got a pair of hiking boots while with that family, and those are pretty much all she wears as footwear these days and she picked them out despite her foster mother's objections because "snakes rarely bite above the ankle." Even though she has more resources now for things like nicer clothes, she mostly just sticks with what she has out of habit, laziness, and because it's easier to hide behind unremarkable clothes.
Even though Alison Lohman played Astrid in the film version of White Oleander, I felt her look was a little too...wholesome and conventional for Astrid as I saw her. That's where Elle Fanning came in as a PB, because she has enough of that slight strangeness and awkwardness you see in models that sets them just to the side of conventional to work. She's also been acting throughout her teenage years, which gives me a really cool opportunity to upgrade and change Astrid's icons to match her age with Elle's at the time, because I'm a fucking nerd for shit like that.
Lana Beniko
Also, a
BritishCoruscantiImperial accent. Because GFFA.And her hair's probably slightly shorter than a lot of her icons, and longer than in canon - say shoulder-length.
Brooke Davis
-Naturally brown hair, currently pretty reddish, and cut above her shoulders. Her hair changes a lot.
-Brown eyes.
-Has adorable dimples.
-Has a raspy voice, which you can hear here if you'd like and turn down the sound for the obnoxious song at the start.
-Wears designer clothes, some she made, some she didn't. Which means there are occasionally some wtfy pieces in her wardrobe, but they have a good label, so.
-Has zero sense of personal space when she's flirting with somebody. Zero.
Miguel O'Hara
Also, fangs. He's probably mostly over the mumbling these days, since nobody on Fandom or in the Exiles cares that he has fangs, but if there are outsiders around, he'll be mumbling so as not to show them off.
Personality-wise, he's this weird combo of being an utter and complete science nerd, but having been raised in a place where (barring one or two exceptions) he was looked up to and coddled for being a nerd, so he's sort of a nerd jock? I don't know if that always comes through.
Prince Sidon
HIS ADORABLE X-SHAPED SCAR ON HIS LEFT HEADFIN.
(It's just the greatest little detail and I love it, and it's never established how he got it, but I've made it FH-Canon that it happened during that giant octorok fight because that just makes sense and made for a cool story).
Granted, I ease my brain about no one ever noticing it because he's just so tall that it's probably out of everyone's eye-level.
So Sidon:
-Is really tall. And is only getting taller. But, for the time being, I've mostly had him edge out of a growth spurt and he'll probably be sitting at 7'5" (about 2.26 meters) for a while now. General BotW Fandom calculations have him at about 10 feet tall during the game, so he's got about 50 years to reach that point, no need to rush him through it and anything beyond 7'5" is just going to be inconvenient.
-Is much older than he seems. Zora live for a very long time, but Sidon, at 76, is still quite young by Zora standards (about a human 16 year old).
-Is red. Like, very red, with a white underbelly. The Zora come in a variety of colors, but red is unusual for a male Zora. He has gills along the side of his (spectacularly ripped) torso, and colorful fins of yellow and turquoise sprouting from his shoulders, his forearms and falling from his hips and around his backside like a skirt. He has a big, broad chest, a very long torso (most of his height is torso), and rather short legs for his height. His hands are slightly webbed, with long yellow claws, and his feet are sort of...forked? Two main toes, mostly, with really sharp yellow nail on his big toe. He has bright yellow eyes with long, vertical pupils (like a cat, almost), no nose to really speak of, and very sharp teeth (only one row, though, SORRY).
-Also, there's a shark on his head. At least, it looks like there's a shark on his head, but it's not a shark on his head, that's just the shape of his head. The front end falls forward dramatically, nearly covering his eyes, with the fins framing his face, covering his ears, and then the tail falling back behind his head and about mid-way down his back.
-Does not wear clothes, but, hey, thanks to the clever design in the species, his gills and fins just happen to make it look like he's wearing actual clothes, spruced up with pretty pointless accessories. He is almost always wearing his necklace, his cravat, his royal sash, golden cords, his shoulder pads, belt, anklets, wristlets, and headpiece, intricately wrought pieces of jewelry studded with turquoise gems.
-Speaks with a slightly affected British-like accent. Perhaps a bit higher than one might expect for his size, but very bright and sing-song and so, so posh.
-His movements tend to be quite grand and expressive, from his gestures to his over-enthusiastic greetings to making grand leaps and flips whenever he gets the chance (which he hasn't gotten to do much around here, the cliffs here are depressingly small). He is, naturally, a fantastic swimmer and an excellent diver, but also quite good with poled weapons and a bow and arrow. I don't always write out when Sidon is gesturing (though I try to), but it's always a safe assumption that he's talking just as much with his hands as he is with his voice.
Rey
-Her skin is tan, and she has freckles from a lot of time in the sun.
-5'7" and thin and wiry. She definitely didn't get to eat much for the last ten years, but she's pretty strong, considering.
-She's also very active and moves easily, with a habit of literally popping back up if she gets knocked down.
-She's got brown hair, usually pulled back in three knots in a line down the back of her head to keep it out of her face, but she's always got some hair coming out of it around her face.
-Is somewhat ambidextrous. She's left-handed but can fight and shoot with her right hand just as easily.
-Wears loose clothing and what I can only think to call arm warmers, along with what looks like the world's most comfortable boots.
-Often carries a staff on her back if she thinks she'll need it. If there's a fight, she absolutely has it.
-Sounds British.
Beauregard
- Has a bunch of piercings, including an eyebrow bar, a nose ring, and four in each ear, as seen in her official portrait.
- Also, super bright blue eyes and generally Asian coded features.
- And brown hair that is always shaved into an undercut and pulled into a topknot -- tied with a specifically blue ribbon -- except for the couple of stray locks that fall down the side of her face.
- Is always, always wearing clothing in shades of blue and grey, which unless otherwise specified will be her monk's robes, accented with some jade jewelry.
- Is fucking ripped in that lean martial artist way. Killer abs, really toned muscles, all that.
- Has a low, kind of raspy/husky voice (which you can hear here from one of my favorite scenes) which due to her general demeanor tends to sound kind of like a frat boy asshole. (She has your basic standard American accent.) ETA, because it's kind of important: It gets tedious to mention this all the time in narrative, but Beau is awful at complimenting people and always manages to sound like she's kind of insulting them at the same time; in general even when she's trying to be nice she still kind of sounds like she's being a dick. (Which is not intentional unless specified but feel free to react to it that way.)
- Gestures a lot with her hands when she talks, usually for emphasis and in a kind of compact, aggressive manner.
- Pretty much always has her staff slung across her back -- the strap she uses for this is, of course, blue -- and blue cloth wrappings around her hands and forearms. She does not as of yet have the bracers over the wraps as some of her icons show.
GOD I'M SO RELIEVED HER AC IS 20 NOW.- She's kind of a restless ball of energy who has a hard time staying still.
And I will probably add more to this later/do the others after I get to work.
Karolina Dean
-- 22 years old.
-- 5'9", which she's grown into since her first stint on the island; they don't draw her quite as rail-thin in the new run of Runaways as they used to, and I embrace that wholeheartedly, omg.
-- Blue-eyed with long blonde hair.
-- Still dresses half the time like some kind of a beach hippie chick, while the other half of time is spent looking like a boho-leaning hipster. She loves a good crop top and other midriff baring pieces (though not during winter or while on the job at the school). And also pastels. And layering, see icon.
-- She also has some abs on her now, I must shallowly note.
-- Sounds Californian, with this voice, more or less.
-- In her alien form, she looks otherwise the same, except her skin and hair shine in all the pastel hues of the rainbow.
Prompto Argentum
-Prompto is a young man of average height and a slender build, whose visage gives off the impression of a youthful punk. He has blue eyes, light freckles and short, unruly blond hair, which he at a point insists "does not look like a chocobo butt."
-17 years old
-Average height being 5'8" (173 cm) and that slender build is jam-packed tight with a whole mess of body issues. Prompto used to be a fat lonely kid who mostly just ate his feelings, but after an incident when Noctis grunted and commented on how heavy Prompto was when helping him up (LOL WHUT), he hit the gym hard and became obsessed with his weight and build ever since.
-So he's got a wiry sort of frame that's very well-muscled, espcially his arms, which he takes particular pride in (which really means something, since, you know, body dysmorphia can be a real bitch)
-"Light" freckles refers to tone, as they're very faint, but GOOD GOD, there are loads of them, and not just on his face, either, as many devoted high-def fan screen shots in awkward spots have proven
-He's almost always wearing dark clothes, usually a get-up that involves a pair of dark leopard-print skinny jeans, a tank top, a sleeveless leather vest studded with rivets and patches and a completely random red flannel accent at the bottom, and black shit-kicker boots with red soles and white accents. Black is an important royal color for theh Crownsguard, so it's a pretty big deal for him to mostly wear it, even though he likes to add flashes of color and detail here and there. (He's also partial to blue, ever since a gremlin-bit Sidon suggested it would really bring out his eyes).
-You can safely assume he's either got a camera or his phone or possibly both very close at hand at all times
-Prompto is almost always always always wearing fingerless leather gloves that cover his wrists. This is important because they cover up his tattoos: one on his left wrist is a star with a stylized barbed wire that he got himself, so that one's not a big deal, but the other one on his right wrist is a barcode that he's had since he was a baby. He thinks this is simply something that marks him as Niflheim born, but actually it marks him as a magitek clone. He goes to great lengths to make sure they're well-hidden and avoids mentioning or bringing them up.
-I may have thought once or twice about Prompto scanning his barcode at Turtle & Canary and having it come up as a UPC for cinnamon rolls.
-I assume he wears contacts because he had glasses when he was a kid that mysterious disappear when he's older, and since he's a range fighter relying entirely on guns, I doubt he'd just stop wearing his glasses for cosmetic reasons. I mean, he totally would just stop wearing his glasses for cosmetic reasons, but contacts make way more sense if he's going to be not wearing glasses for cosmetic reasons and then going to go try and shoot things. Also, I am probably thinking too much about this and why do I have two characters (*cough*Amaya*cough*) with mysteriously disappearing glasses?
-Prompto is always fidgeting and he's incredibly bouncy and cannot stand still to save his life half the time. I try to work this into the narrative, but it can get a little annoying, so it's safe to assume that he's figeting in some capacity when you're talking to him. If it's mentioned that he's actually standing still, that's when you know something's up. It's like he's got too much energy in him and doesn't know what to do with it, like, ever.
-Prompto's voice (provided in English by Robbie Daymond) is usually light and playful and higher pitched, varying in tones as exciteable as the boy himself, with a little bit of that edge-of-puberty crackle. It's a very typical over-excited nerdy boy voice. I mean, Daymond's Prompto-voice and Spider-Man voice are practically the same voice. Like. I cannot watch this Spider-Man without thinking it's Prompto in there. Which would be an awesome AU.

Sabine Wren
-Very colorful/
-Her hair is always short (easier with a helmet), and naturally dark brown but she dyes it pretty frequently. Currently it's a solid powder blue, with her eyebrows a darker blue. I try to put her current look in her profile, and if you need to now her hair color you can see the latest "hair stuff" tag in her journal.
-Is coded Asian.
-Wears a little bit of makeup, but keeps it pretty neutral.
-is probably about average height for her age and will grow some. Also built like a stick figure. There's nothing to her.
-Unless otherwise stated, is always wearing her armor minus the helmet. I'll also say when she's carrying it around.
-Her armor is 500 years old and is heavily modified, so it's not this big clunky suit. She kept the collar armor, breastplate, ankle plates, and knee, elbow and shoulder pads. They attach to a black body glove that she wears with pants.
-Her armor also gets painted fairly often. Currently it's a mix of grays and purples and teal, and has a teal deer on her right pauldron. (There's always an animal there.) she's also got an orange starbird on the breastplate.
-Also wears black boots and gloves that are covered in paint splatter.
-Is wearing weapons anywhere she is allowed to wear weapons. She carries two blaster pistols in a holster and they are painted.
-Also probably has some kind of explosive on her, though at school be in the dorms it's something non-destructive, like paint or glitter.
-Her body language is pretty closed off. She doesn't often smile showing teeth and she folds her arms a lot.

The only headcanon I have is that she sounds like the singer of Halestorm when she sings. That doesn't happen all that often and so far I haven't had any reason to have her jump on a stage but THAT WILL HAPPEN.
Unlike almost every profile picture or icon or picture of Jack ever, while on Fandom Island she wears military boots, cargo pants, a tank style binder and some form of half-destroyed t-shirt over the top. She rarely wears the leather straps and buckles and definitely wouldn't wear them in winter.
On Fandom, she's deliberately talking low-class. I have no real reason for it. She wants people to underestimate her so I'm just rolling with her patois.
Amaya Blackstone
-Slightly tanned skin with a ruddy red to her complexition from so much time in front of a hot forge, and very, very thick dark brown hair with a significant fringe bang, about shoulder length and very full and floofy. Her eyes are probably her prettiest feature, being a very crisp and clear blue that'll just pierce right into you. She also has the cutest little button nose and will probably deck you if you point it out.
-Is almost always wearing her work gloves; it will definitely be stated if she isn 't wearing them or she removes them for some reason (which is usually just to use her phone, and she almost always puts them right back on; she feels a bit naked and vulnerable without them on)
-And she's almost always wearing a practical and simple outfit of a sturdy teal skirt about mid-shin length, a loose green corset over a blousy white shirt, slightly off the shoulder, with the sleeves tied up with red string. And yes, that shirt does well to show off her ample cleavage which always throws me considering this is a family game here. But it's definitely there and kind of hard not to notice, though never mentioned in the narrative because it's not like she ever thinks about it and that'd just be kind of weird. She wears sturdy, though slightly slouchy brown boots, and, as mentioned above, her trusty old work gloves.
-As so many other things about Amaya are sturdy, so is her voice, a great solid husky voice, which usually contains a little bit of a rougher edge when it doesn't manage to slip in a surprising warmth, and is provided by the incredible Zelda Williams. All the conversations between Amaya and Rosa that happen in my head are just a brilliant dream of huskiness.
-Will almost definitely have a hammer or wrench or some other tool inexplicably tucked away on her person somewhere at all times. Often has soot or grease somewhere on her face as well.
-I assume (and have started to play up, now that I've realized that she had glasses as a kid that mysteriously disappeared after thinking about how Prompto also had glasses as a kid that mysteriously disappeared) that she's nearsighted, but never wears her glasses, probably because they're an inconvenience when working around so much fire and steam and moving around in the forge. So she mostly forgets about them until it's too late because she's been spending all day working on some sort of futzy work that requires her to be thisclose to it.
Mae Borowski
Mae's pretty wysiwyg -- she's a cat headed girl who wears jeans and a homemade tshirt 24/7. Here's some details that are less obvious from icons:
- Has a tattered right ear from a fight with a dog (an actual one) in her youth
- has paws. Like, three rounded finger-type things at the ends of her hands
- does not have claws, though, alas
- you literally never see her teeth
- or watch her eat, but she does eat, like, tacos and pizza, so you assume she has them
- has a small thatch of hair on top of her head, dyed red
- wears combat boots
- is very short. Like, she's eye level with tables
- makes little grunting sounds when she jumps
- has a round little belly and a flat chest she tries not to feel bad about
- but definitely does feel bad about sometimes

He's chronologically six (and three quarters!), but appears to be somewhere in his mid-twenties.
He uses a device called a Global which is essentially what the late 90s thought smartphones might look like. The screen is some sort of flexible material that collapses when the Global is slid shut. It's also got some weird scrambling tech that means Liam might occasionally show up on your caller ID as something ridiculous, like Ratman or Captain Proton. Yes, even if you have him in your address book as something else already.
He wears a lot of black (also helpfully seen in that video linked above!). Sometimes mixes it up with a bit of blue or burgundy or other dark colours that don't start with b, but mostly black.
Has vaguely triangular red marks on both of his palms that look like burns. They're not. Sometimes they're faded to the point that you can barely see them, and other times they're a dark, angry red. He also has a tendency to either rub his thumb against the palm of the other hand, or press into it.
Is kind of weird about skin-to-skin contact in general with most people, and especially handshakes. Used to kind of grin-and-bear-it in an attempt to appear normal, but has stopped doing that for the most part. This is because those not-burns? Are actually something called the shaqarava, a channel for (among other things, as the plot has needed) psychic energy. Basically it's super-intimate and unless he's in a romantic relationship with you (hi, Verity!), he's not gonna. Well, probably if someone were like. Dangling off a cliff or something. Might hug you or sling an arm around your shoulders if there's enough clothing in the way.
Is psychically sensitive. Not actually a telepath himself, exactly, but he can send/receive thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc via palm-to-palm contact. But if you're a telepath/have some sort of psychic ability, he'd be able to sense that. If you’re a telepath and go poking around in his head, you’d probably be able to tell he’s not fully human, since in his own words, his mental processes are “different”. If you’ve got an enhanced sense of smell he might not smell totally human either. Because he’s not; he’s got three biological parents, one of whom came from a purely energy-based species called the Kimera (yes, that’s absolutely where I got my ooc nickname). As of like three days ago has discovered that is capable of absorbing the appearance/memories of someone he touches, so will probably be even more weird about physical contact for a while.
Sometimes wears a pair of dog tags that don't belong to him, that have the words "FIND ME" scratched on them. (He found her, she's okay, he just sometimes wears them when he is feeling particularly melancholy)
Is hiding several weapons of various types on him at all times. Also almost always has his sidearm, a beam pistol, except when he's someplace that doesn't allow (visible) weapons.
Has several scars of the kind that you might expect from someone who gets into physical altercations on the regular, but the notable one is probably the dime sized/shaped scar on his abdomen.
... There's also a scar behind his right ear that hides a surgically-implanted signal jammer, but it's not exactly in plain view.
Octavia Blake
-- 5'3" or 5'4", somewhere around there. Generally gives the impression of being bigger than that.
-- Dark brown hair, green eyes, and a tan complexion (though none of her brother's freckles, sadly). Wears her hair in a Grounder style, like so - basically she has braided faux undercuts on both sides, with another thicker braid in the back, while the rest of her hair is loose but out of her way.
-- Dresses exclusively in very dark tones. And lots of leather, the more durable and functional, the better. Fandom has added some slight contemporary touches to her wardrobe (a winter coat and some hand-me-down t-shirts from Bellamy, for the most part), but she's still sticking pretty close to Grounder fashion. So, this is a pretty accurate image of what she's wearing out and about in town. (Just, without the horse, sadly.)
-- And speaking of strolls through town, she takes those a lot. And more often than not, she's carrying her sword in its scabbard at her back.
-- Often talks in a slightly raspy deadpan, and keeps her tone more dry than anything else until maybe she gets to know you a little better. Her voice sounds like this. (Her second language is Trigedasleng which she occasionally uses on the island even though even Bellamy doesn't understand it much. You can hear a bit of it here.)
-- Just in general, Octavia doesn't emote a lot until she's comfortable with you. Once she is, she can get a lot more animated with big expressions and slightly broader gestures, but don't hold your breath.
-- During invasions, she's most likely wearing Grounder warpaint, which you can see in the icon.
-- She doesn't have any tattoos yet, but they're gonna happen soon, omg.
Jack the Tin Man
Has a mid-class British accent, because he's from Oz. Not fancy, but not cockney. Jack's a village boy, basically.
Is 17 years old and 5'7", and can't grow much more since his legs are tin. I might ask for an extra inch if he gets his legs replaced, though. He is aware of how short he is, yes, and sometimes gets extra pugnacious about it.
Clanks. Not a lot, but most noticeably going up stairs (and he just has to live on the 4th floor, right? On an island defined by outdoor staircases. His life, seriously). He's gotten a lot better at hauling himself up slopes and stairs from when he started, when it was a major issue. But when he gets tired/sloppy, it's more audible.
So is his ticking heart, but only if you're sitting next to him and the room isn't too noisy.
Doesn't have a lot of clothes. Doesn't see the point of trying for fashion, now that 3/4 of him is metal. Does occasionally indulge in some truly ridiculous and eye-searing neckties and scarves, though.
Nobody watching him move can think that it's natural; but again, it's gotten smoother, less herky-jerky than just very linear.
Tends to hug himself with his right (human) arm, partly in an instinct to protect all those metal-covered parts on his torso, partly because he's really hoping you won't notice or ask about them. (I'm fine with it, though, so if you want to start that conversation, feel free to make Jack super-uncomfortable.)
Rosa Diaz
-Pretty WYSIWYG. Nutshell: Bad Ass Latina Ninja Cop with a Near Perma-Glare.
-Specific age unknown, but I place her at around 33ish; we know she was under thirty-five during "Cop Con" when they discover the Wasp, a device that creates an ear-peircing sound that can only be heard by people under 35, but we know from "White Whale" that she's been in and out of a lot of different career paths, so putting her in her early thirties makes her susceptable to the Wasp but also having had enough time to have done a bunch of shit in her twenties (while still having been a detective for at least seven years in that episode). And Beatriz is 38, so 33 seems a good compromise. I SPEND WAY TOO MUCH TIME THINKING ABOUT THE MATH WITH YOUR AGE, ROSA, WHO ARE YOU??
-I still have trouble believing she's only 5'6", because she seems SO TALL AND STATUESQUE AND THAT'S THE POWER OF A GOOD POSTURE, MY FRIENDS. Rosa carries herself like a bad-ass goddess and it shows. I'm sure the super-svelte frame and kick-ass boots usually help, too.
-Anyway, she's tall seeming, with a crazy long-limb classic dancer/ninja build, dark brown eyes and black curly hair, a little longer than shoulder length (with wild variation via my icons).
-Wears mostly black, but she's known for the occasional pop of color (even a pink shirt once!). Boots, tight jeans, t-shirts and tank tops, and she needs just as much closet space for her endless leather jackets as she does her weapons. And yet somehow, despite her outfits not leaving much to the imagination, she always manages to have a ridiculously large weapon well-hidden in those tight pants.
-Almost always wearing a St. Christopher pendant.
-Has a scar cutting diagonally across her left eyebrow.
-Has seriously the best smile ever, but no one will ever know it, lol.
-Very flexible, stealthy, and smooth, though she'll mostly just stand stiffly with her arms folded in front of her while her judging eyes do their worst.
-Has a very dry, husky, surly kind of voice that has gotten progressively drier and deeper as the seasons go on, thus drawing itself further and further away from Stephanie Beatriz's actual voice.
Yang Xiao Long
- Seventeen and sassy.
- TALL. Very buff, very tall, and rather well-endowed for her age. And she's not afraid to use it to her advantage.
- Talks like a stereotypical Valley Girl sometimes. Usually when she's deliberately playing dumb, but her voice is almost always cheerful. If she sounds serious, she's not fucking around.
- Tends to wear warm/bright colors; orange, yellow, red, with some purple thrown in. Short skirts or shorts, tank tops, motorcycle boots and jacket. She switches to pants once it starts snowing, but she isn't really bothered by the cold because Reasons. ALWAYS wearing bulky gold metal bracelets (because they transform into her weapons of choice)
- Said weapon of choice are shotgun gauntlets. Yes. She made them herself. She'll joke about how her sister is a weapons nut, but Yang's no slouch when it comes to engineering her own gear.
- If you think she's flirting with you, you're probably right. Yang's a horrible horrible flirt. Always assume the innuendo is intended, and she says it like that.
- Often smells of gasoline and gunpowder, since working on her motorcycle and shooting things are two of her favorite hobbies.
- ENORMOUS BLONDE HAIR FULL OF SECRETS. SO MUCH HAIR. HAIR THAT BASICALLY BECOMES LIVING FLAME SOMETIMES. It's gorgeous.
- Purple eyes (usually)
Just... don't make her angry. She's got a short temper, and you really wouldn't like her when she's angry. Her eyes go red, her hair becomes flames, and she goes berserk.
- Her fire DOES NOT give off heat unless she 1) wants it to 2) she's totally lost control. But she will let you roast marshmallows off her because she thinks it's funny.
- Is constantly absorbing kinetic energy, which is passively converted into super-strength. Yang is very careful and well-trained by now, she's had her powers at least since she was a toddler, so she doesn't break things unless she wants to break them. She thinks nothing of picking up a bed to help re-arrange your bedroom, it looks effortless, but she can't, say, lift an entire mech. At least, not without taking some damage first.
- Is practically invulnerable. To a point. If she's bleeding, the situation is bad. Very very bad.
Summer Smith
-Pretty average height, with a pretty average build, leaning toward athletic. She's never had a problem fighting (or bulking up), and I imagine she played soccer and volleyball at her old high school.
-Used to wish her boobs were bigger, but is slightly okay with it now since an effort to maket hem actually bigger went horribly awry.
-Has a long face and a long nose to match; takes after her father in physicality, which she absolutely hates
-Reddish-blonde hair, which she usually wears in a ponytail. When she wears it down, it's just slightly past her shoulders in length and seems to get pretty frizzy/tangled easily, so that's probably why she prefers to wear it up more often than not.
-Although she loves fashion and will sometimes mix it up, Summer's ultimate comfort outfit is a bright pink top and white capris, nice simple and comfortable black flat slip-on shoes. She has a tendency to lean toward pinks and purples in her fashion, though she can never turn down a cute yellow Marc Jacobs top
-Has a slightly drawling, sarcastic, bored teenager affliction to her voice, standard American accent, and is voiced by Spencer Grammer. She's amazing and I love her, whether she's Sarcastic and Bored, Hysterical and Overdramatic, or Bad Ass and Punching Nazis. (Also, any R&M links should come with an automatic Content Warning because....yeah, that compelation has some pretty high points...but some pretty low ones, too)
-85% of the time has her purple phone in her hand like it's pretty much glued there.
Keyleth
- Six feet of gawky awkward half-elf, with features that are a little too delicate to be entirely human but not as much so as a full blooded elf would have.
- Green eyes, red hair that is currently about mid-back long, and a faint smattering of freckles.
- Usually wearing green and carrying her druidic staff, basically a super natural-aesthetic mage type staff.
- And the antlered circlet of course.
- Kind of tends to draw in on herself a little bit.
- I am eternally amused by the idea that she basically sounds like Beau (for obvious reasons) but much more cheerful, much less raspy, and pitched slightly higher. Not to mention much less aggressive and hostile. As for example.
- Though I imagine that on those occasions when Keyleth gets really mad, she weirdly sounds a lot more like Beau.

...okay, okay, no, not really, despite what everyone else in the gang might have to say about it.
-43 years old
-5'8" and very slender and bony, with apparently noticeably large feet (size 13) and hands
-straight blonde hair, currently styled to frame her face and be just slightly past shoulder-length, blue eyes, and what we'll call a "strong" jawline
-is decently attractive, though not in a conventional way. She may not be an "eight or nine out of ten" as she claims in a a song she added to her friend Charlie's musical, but she is also definitely not as unattractive as the gang consistently makes her out to be. She has no problem attracting partners...it's keeping them that's the issue because the problem isn't her face, it's her personality.
-prone to clumsiness but is amazingly strong, especially for her frame. She is often known to break things because she just doesn't know her own absurdly abnormal strength (it's not superpower level or anything, but just about as close as you can get in a grounded-in-"reality" show)
-left-handed
-doesn't like her earlobes
-is likely to have pretty bad breath more often than not
-used to have scoliosis, for which she wore a large metal backbrace in high school, earning herself the nickname "Aluminum Monster"
-prone to gagging around attractive people, unless she's good and drunk when she's aroundt hem

-is considered the healthiest member of the gang despite numerous drug addictions, being an alcoholic, and having had a heart attack in her early thirties

-Her voice is mostly grating and annoying, especially if she gets all riled up and angry, (her catchphrase, even, is just a good, hearty "God dammit!"), and she's exceptionally bad at accents, but that doesn't stop her from trying! She's actually not a bad singer, though.

Sia Fel
-21 years old, carries herself like someone older.
-5'6" and in good shape, with great abs.
-Has long brown hair that's about midway down her back with a white streak right up at the front of her hairline, despite the icons. She usually either leaves her hair down or pulls it half back unless she's officially being empressy. Then it usually goes up. She also might have a tasteful headpiece on.
-Brown eyes, also despite the icons.
-Has the symbol of the Fel Empire tattooed on her lower back. The "yolt" is long removed.
-Her clothes are amazing, even her flightsuits are structured. There's a decent amount of white and off-the-shoulder stuff in her wardrobe.
-When she’s out on the mainland she tends to dress to blend in, so she might wear jeans or a dress she got in town. It's never really dressing down, though.
-Her Imperial Knight armor is red, and deflects lightsaber hits. Underneath are black pants and a shirt that’s basically a turtleneck, with black gloves, so all that’s exposed is her head.
-Has a lightsaber (silver!) on her whenever she's able to carry it, but she tends to keep it concealed.
-It's probably impossible to shake the poise off of her.
-No discernible accent. Even though she's Imperial and I feel she should be British, apparently it doesn't work that way.
-Isn't a big smiler. She's not adverse to smiling, but it's not an automatic reaction to most things.
-She has a great glare, though.
Kitty Pryde-Barton
-Brown/hazel eyes. They're described in stuff as hazel but colored as brown and the PB has hazel eyes so it's one of the two.
-5'6", with a dancer's build and unlike a lot of comics characters from the 80's, actually has a normally-proportioned body. She's probably also that bitch who had a baby and lost most of the weight right away.
-26 years old.
-Is nearsighted and wears glasses sometimes, for reading and detail work mostly.
-She's from Chicago but has lived in other places for years, so if she has an accent at all it probably shows up in flat vowels here and there.
-Her natural state is intangible, and she's solid basically through sheer force of will. My personal rule is, if you're trying to hurt her, she's probably not getting hit (tbh it's funnier), but if you're not, it's fine to touch her. She doesn't appear any different between the two states.
-Kitty's a pretty casual dresser, big on jeans and t-shirts, though she's been known to rock the midriff once in a while. Xplain the X-Men said she seemed like that kid who was way into fashion and then grew up and just wore sweats all the time because she couldn't be bothered and that seems about right.
-When she really tries to put together an outfit it might be a bit of a disaster.
-Sometimes wears a Star of David necklace.
-Used to have both a navel ring and a few piercings in each ear, but those got healed up after dying and being made whole again. Now she's got two holes in each ear.
-Wears her wedding and engagement rings on her left hand.
Jaina Solo
-Dark brown hair, about halfway down her back, and usually left down. She doesn't care.
-In scary good shape. She's mostly muscle. Girl trains like it's her job, which it sort of is.
-Her preferred clothes are simple, just a shirt and pants or flightsuits. She does dress up a little more when she needs to be official, though.
-However in Fandom, she learned as a teenager that every time something invades she gets guts all over her clothes and she's tired of ruining the stuff from back home. So it's totally common to see her in jeans and a tank top, usually black.
-Canonically has decent fashion sense. I know.
-No accent. Despite growing up on the same planet as Ben.
-Always has her lightsaber (purple!) on her, unless otherwise stated. If she can't wear it, she brings a purse that she can hide it in.
-Basically just has a collection of faded scars. Most notably, there's a lightsaber scar on her stomach and some old burn scars on her back that have mostly healed up and faded.
-Doesn't actually have the dimples Sophia (and Brooke) does.
-Brown eyes. One might call them brandy brown. Ad nauseum.
-Is 38, but I actually tried doing the math and figured out that she's physically about two years younger than her numerical age. (My old job was boring.)
-Wears a wedding ring, but otherwise typically stays away from jewelry.
Kat Stratford
-The tallest of all my kids at 5'7".
-Has long blonde wavy hair, about midway down her back, and brown eyes.
-Is from the 90's and dresses like it. Luckily that's back in style these days! She's not so much into the trends from back then, but you look at the tank tops she wears or the claw in her hair and could reasonably go "oh she's from the 90's."
-Is probably scowling at you.
Hannibal Lecter
For sharpening his pencils, of course!
He will almost always say the right, courteous, proper thing. He will sometimes even mean it, but mostly he's very good at playing a good person.
He is not a good person by most people's definition.
Tends to work in microexpressions. His expressions are obvious when he wants them to be, but understated. Unless, again, he's playing nice.
He's got parallel scars up the insides of his wrists from an attempted killing. Is slightly annoyed by them, because honestly, he'd have done such a better job of it himself! (The slicing, the surgery after, take your pick. Probably both.)
