Breq: This is...so weird. And I have had a very weird few months already. The smiling is particularly off-putting, especially considering everything that I know. You seem so different, but then there are little things that make you exactly the same, and I don't know what I should tell you about what I know, if anything, especially since I like knowing and I like the fact that you don't know that I know.

Also, I'm afraid that if you did know, I wouldn't stand a chance.

Seivarden: This is ALSO going to be SO WEIRD, and how are you actually worse, but, Aatr's tits, you are Radchaai, and that is a comfort, even more so than Fleet Captain. I'll probably gain a newfound respect for Ekalu by the end of all this, though. Or maybe just newfound pity. And Kalr Five will be relieved to find out that all the work she put into that tea set won't go entirely to waste out here in the uncivilized unknown.

You've always been really nice and really supportive- even when cultural differences made things a little awkward, it always came from a nice enough place. So I'm glad you're still around even though you've graduated. You're pretty cool.

Shunsui: I definitely don't want to be your muse and I don't think I need to read your writing. I didn't mind talking to you though, but I should have asked about songs you know. I'm guessing a lot of them are about love and or drinking. Am I wrong?

Tisarwat: I don't know why I feel the need to make sure you're ok or so I tell myself. I do feel that though. I hope you turn to me if you need help, I've looked after a lot of baby Lieutenants, after all. I do think I might end up making better choices here than some other Radchaai.

Of the three people I've actually had a conversation with, you seem the most down to earth. The lack of eye pigment is a little off putting but as an albino you can't really control that.
