SUMMER 2020 WORKSHOP SESSION 2 SIGN-UPS

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Second Session Summer 2020 Workshops! These sign-ups are for both NEW and RETURNING students, and in a first, some of the workshops are open to EVERYONE (but not all of them, so be sure to read carefully). YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. (We are just as amused as you are by the theme of "eating things" and "beating stuff up/running away" theme we have going here for workshops this summer. Screw you, RL 2020.) Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

3) PC classes are those taught by an actual character, the things you're signing up for here, as opposed to the NPC classes, which are taught by woodchucks discussed in their own thread towards the end of this post.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2. (Not you, recent grads.) Please note TA-ship in the sign-up for easy of making the class lists accurate. Teachers: please refrain from having your own character act as the TA as it defeats the purpose of having a back-up player to post for you!

3) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap.

4) If you sign up, please, please try to show up. It lets the mods judge if you're still in the game and it makes the work the teachers are putting into coming up with something fun to interact with so worth it.

5) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

6) To be fair to people in all time-zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve.

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Saturday, July 4th, 2020, and are IG knowledge through the weekend.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Mon: Period 3: Tyler: Time Management, Part II

Some might say productivity is important. But to be productive you have to learn how to manage your time, whether it's by looking like you're busy when you're really not, or ditching out on responsibilities entirely to hang out at the beach for a day. This class is gonna ignore the productivity part and only focus on that second part. Movie day, anyone?

Tue: Period 1: Crocker: Swimming With the Fishes

Under the sea, under the sea! Darling it's better down where it's wetter, take it from me!

Explore the joys of the ocean with the creatures that live there! Want to go surfing with sea turtles? Dive with dolphins? Jostle around some jellyfish? This is the class for you!

Tue: Period 2: Smith: Chopped: Overstock Edition

There's a very interesting challenge that goes along with being the manager of a store that will sometimes, on its own volition, randomly make an order for products that will then, unexpectedly, be delivered for sale, but in obscene and ri-DONK-ulous volume. What's one to do with all that extra food? Turn it into a summer workshop class, of course!

Focused entirely on the whim of Turtle & Canary's bizarre ordering tendencies, this class, based on the hit Food Network television show Chopped!, will challenge its students to find a way to make bizarre combinations of foods work for glory and profit.

Well, okay, not profit, but at the very least bragging rights.

Tue: Period 3: Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg: The Great Witcher Bake-Off

Have you ever wanted to learn to bake? Every week this workshop will introduce a fun new baking project for beginners, like your instructors!

Thu: Period 3: Diaz: Return of Fandom Gladiators

Fight against each other in stupid physical challenges with a lot of foam and spandex like you're in a cheesy late 80s/early 90s network television game show. Enough said.

FRIDAY

Fri: Period 1: Blackstone: Weaponry in Film

The world of film and movies is vast, and some of the best movies have, of course, memorable weapons in them! This workshop will be one part film study, one part shop class, as we take a trip through various films with a particularly creative flair for weaponry on display and then try to recreate the weapons in real life! Movies and weapons! What more could you want in a class?

FRI: Period 2: Stark & Rogers: Crafts and Arts

A totally different class, we promise (it is not, really.) Come learn even more summertime crafts with popsicle sticks, paint, sand, and the inevitable glitter.

Fri: Period 3: Skywalker: Try Not to Die Some More!

Let's pretend we haven't watched the Amazing Race even more! Explore different countries for a few hours! Eat weird foods, ride on unsuitable animals, do cultural dances for the amusement of your teacher!
