My office is silent, my boss isn't here and I have a giant case of the "I don't wanna"s. Let's meme.

We last did this one in January.

What do you like about Tony/Steve?

YOU'RE CRUEL AND DEMANDING AND KNOW MY TYPE TOO WELL.

I think I got about a month into the shelter in place order and ran out of things to watch. And Fry mentioned she was reading fic from that dumb, dumb show. And I went 'Okay, I'll see if it's the usual CBS bullshit' and then I ended up watching all ten seasons.

Right now I'm super enjoying their journey to emotional honesty! But they're my comfort spot in game. Even when my brain isn't here, they're fun and engaging for me.

Since the strongest voice is out (hi, Nina), I'm having fun with Elli. She's real low-key and isn't interested in fighting at all and she wants everything to be normal, fun, and friendly which is just real nice given all of 2020. I worry that she's boring to others but she makes me happy to play.

Why Adora?

Is there anything you've been wanting to do with your characters that you haven't been able to yet?

That's a really good question, and I feel really bad that the only thing I can think to answer it with is, "They ALL surprise me in small ways all the time!"

Which is a lame answer, but I feel none of them have really thrown me through a HUGE loop, it really is just all the small things.I think what honestly surprises me the most is how, when I really think about it, even though Fandom has clearly shaped them in surprising ways, everyone still seems pretty firmly who they've always been at their core, if that makes any sense.

That, and Summer's friendship with Seivarden, but that goes without saying. XD

First off, you're amazing. Also she's been too good and needs to do something a little dark so we can tooootally work with this.

What the hell was someone thinking about that French-Canadian version of Brooklyn 99? Holy crap, it's like they took everything great about the original and said 'Nah' and threw it away.

Someone called it like the cheap porn version of B99, and I'm like, yup. Yup, that's exactly what it feels like. Cheap porn without even the actual porn.

And then a part of me wonders if this what the Brits felt like when the US made their own version of the office, but it can't be, can it? Because US Office is actually good, and not a reheated pile of crap...

I don't know. It takes a lot to make me uncomfortable, but Escouade 99 makes me very uncomfortable....

Honestly, it makes me so happy to know Kiki's getting her mom back after so long, that she's been alive all this time, because as much loss and heartbreak as that girl's going to be staring down over her insanely long life, it's so awesome for her to actually get something back. Especially since it's not just her mom, but maybe the only other person who would know what it means to be the Voice of the Tempest and all the expectations that go along with it. It was going to be such a lonely existence for her, ultimately, and now maybe she won't be quite so alone.

... and the fact that her mom is coming back to her fresh off a few days of firsthand experience with Beau and Yasha and the Mighty Nein's chaos dumbassery absolutely fucking delights me.

(Seriously, I can totally imagine Vilya like "let me tell you about these frighteningly competent chucklefucks who helped me get back here," and Keyleth sort of sheepishly having to explain to her that hi, Mom, my friends are just as ridiculous but somehow they let a lot of us be in charge of things and be champions of the gods? Like. Vilya telling her about all the polymorph flight escapades and Keyleth having to explain the FLYING COWS shenanigans.)

Yeah, I went there.

And I do believe that the British do feel that way about their shows because for every Office there's the American version of "Coupling".

I was reading scifi that had queer/non-gender normative concepts/characters and a friend recommended them to me. The books have other important themes too of course, like if AIs can be considered people, and colonialism, but it's also a space opera with a lot of humour. The books aren't perfect but I read all of them in one go, and really enjoyed them. I suppose that as a non-binary person myself the unimportance of gender is interesting, and I really like some of the non-normative love relationships too.

And then I just love these characters, although Breq is a lot more difficult to play, maybe because she's the (sometimes unreliable) narrator.

I hadn't even thought about how having her Mom back means there's someone she can relate with regarding the aramente.

I still can't believe Matt had this in his pocket since the first day of campaign one. That was so well done.

Honestly, the only plan I had was to have her go through the rest of canon this summer. Which... I didn't manage to do quite the way I wanted, as my brain sort of fizzled out. So it happened, but only the last two bits of canon got actually posted. But now she's post-canon so I have a bit more freedom with what I can have her do!

Another instance of someone knowing my type and going 'hey, Elaine, listen to this shit'! Sam was listening to MBMBaM and then TAZ and got me listening to them as well. Then I just got sucked into the great McElroy content pool.

Balance was at the right time for me emotionally and Maggie was the dumb boy I wanted to play.

(And I still have it in the back of my mind to one day do a BDE with Monster Factory creations showing up to take over the island because I would die over The Boy Mayor Of Second Life and his campaign manager Totino's showing up)

NGL I am kind of sorry we just have to imagine what happens when Vilya explains how the M9 showed up in Exandria's Bermuda Triangle and helped her get her memory back because they were there to help the Traveler, and Keyleth makes the connection between Jester's not-actually-a-god-patron and the archfey who strangled her boyfriend to death just because he wanted to see what it would be like and Vax wasn't going to stay dead anyway.

Unless Matt and Marisha do a little bonus RP scene, which would be goddamn delightful.
